Music: Brock's Feminine Side

I know, I know, it sounds girly, but I thought a music class would be a great way for Brock to get in touch with his feminine side. I was WRONG. We signed Brock and Hudson up for Kindermusic about 3 months ago, and have watched them agressively play music week after week. They definetly got good at stomping, running from mom, and BANGING various instruments together to make music. Brock sure has rhythm like his daddy (watch out!) Overall, it was a great experience and the best was when I got to rock and bond with Brock. Every week, for one song, you got to rock and hold your child. Brock loved it for about 30 seconds and then I had to bribe him with gum in order for him to let me keep holding him. Needless to say, my little boy will be better suited for full tackle football!

Man Party

After years of my mother throwing Grandma parties for all her granddaughters, at last the boys are finally old enough for a party of their own. A true man party- Brock, Hudson, Papa, and of course, Grandma (an honorable man). They had a fabulous time going to Del Taco, the park, and out for ice-cream. They are lucky little boys to have such great grandparents!

Santa Who?

Life has been crazy around here. With me coaching a club team, Chris working, and well... Christmas taking over, we did manage to find the time to go to our ward Christmas party and see Santa. We thought Brock would be thrilled to sit on Santa's lap and tell him what he wanted, but honestly Brock couldn't care less. We basically had to wrangle him to get in line, and then we he got up there, he got the candy and took off. We've managed to gently brainwash him into wanting a truck from Santa because we magically have a truck hidden away! He loves to talk about Santa and will be happy to share that Santa lives in the Warmth Pole, he wears a red Santa sweater, and delivers the presents with the help of his deers. We can't wait for him to open his presents this year. Brock is always worth a laugh!

Proud Mama

Okay, I can't help it. I'm a proud mama and I'm not ashamed to admit it. My kids are soo cute! We are having so much fun too! Paige is sitting up and blabbing up a storm. Brock loves to take away her toys, but don't worry, he always hands her something really fun to play with like a shoe or cup. She doesn't care, she just loves being around her big brother. Just yesterday, Brock picked her up when I wasn't looking (big helper!) and brought her to me. He is so sweet with her and always loves to help give her a bottle.

Christmas Pictures (Painful to see!)

We really tried to get a good family picture but apparently we suck at it. The majority of the pictures were a complete waste. Either Chris looked like a deer in the headlights, I looked fat (imagine that!), Brock was closing his eyes, or Paige looked stoned. Needless to say these were the best!

Nice Boots!

Okay, my son is hilarious. He has said many memorable things lately and two come to mind almost instantly. Brock was hanging out with his dad a few months ago and started really studying his daddy's face. Then he noticed a small mole on my husband's forehead and he pushed it and replied "A button!" We cracked up for hours! Then just yesterday I was taking a tubby with my kids. We were surrounded by loads of toys and bubbles. Paige is usally splashing around and Brock is usually busy playing with his boats. Today was different. Brock began playing, but this day, Brock noticed something about his Mama. He looked at me strangely and then toward my chest area. He then proclaimed, "Mama, you've got big boots!" At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I got it! Brock had finally noticed my "boots!" and our tubby times will soon be coming to an end!

Mud buddies

Brock loves his cousin Hudson (Huddy). They sure are a handful! Some of their favorite things to do are play in the mud, beat each other up, and go swimming in the nude in November! They keep us laughing! P.S. Check out those barn boots Kristin!

Brock Turns 3!

Well, Brock finally is out of the terrible 2's and into the thrilling 3's! He had a great birthday, got lots of toys, but his favorite was the Bob the builder tool bench and belt. I thought I would earn major brownie points by making him a Sponge Bob cake. So I asked him "What kind of cake do you want?" He replied Diego. I told him they were all out of Diego cakes. He then said he wanted Dora. I informed him all the Dora cakes were gone too but they had Sponge Bob. He said no to Sponge Bob and requested Mickey Mouse, Clifford, Backyardigans, basically anything but Sponge Bob. I told him they were out of everything but Sponge Bob and finally he would accept a Sponge Bob cake. What a stinker! The party was great and the pinata was a hit!

Halloween

Our Halloween was quite memorable this year with Brock as Hercules and Paige as a bunny. Brock kept insisting he was superman but finally saw the light and admitted to being Hercules. First, we went to a Trunk or Treat. Brock filled up his bucket within minutes. Then, we went around our neighborhood. I took Brock, while Chris stayed home with Paige and handed out candy. We had tons of trick or treaters, so Chris eventually resorted to giving the trick or treaters Brock's candy. (Don't worry, he didn't know!) We eventually met up with my sister, Amy, and continued through the neighborhood. Within minutes, our boys, who were both Hercules, were riding in a wagon. They were pooped, and enjoyed the wagon ride just as much as the candy. Brock was hilarious- he soon discovered that by saying "Trick or Treat" he would get candy. He would knock on the door, say "Trick or Treat" and then instantly put his hand out. He was very choosy when people would give him a choice, and when they would just put it in his bucket, he would specifically look in his bucket to make sure he got the goods. Making memories!

My cuties!

Just a few pictures of my cute kids!

Goats and Tears

Okay, last night we were part of the Tuachan Nativity performance. We all decided to be shepards, figuring Brock would love to be with the animals. We had some sweet costumes too! So Brock doesn't want to wear the shepard clothes- what's new. Every time we looked over, he was peeling off layers of his costume. After finally getting him dressed for the 10th time, we are ready for our big performance and a live crowd. We enter the stage with the goats when one of the goats steps on Brock's foot. Brock proceeds to cry extremely loud and then points to the goat and loudly exclaims "That goat stepped on me!" I tried to console him by telling him to stop crying and that I'd give him a soda. That seemed to work. So the performance went okay. Brock didn't get that he couldn't talk during the performance and gave a quiet commentary of the nativity, including that the baby wasn't real, the goats were silly, and that he wanted to go home. The night ended with our ward having donuts and hot chocolate. A perfect night.

I've Come Over to the Dark Side

Okay, I was an anti-blogger and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I would constantly tease my sister for her blogging and insist that she got 5 cents every time someone visited her blog. Now look at me, I'm a disgrace. I'm blogging at 6am on a Sunday morning because I can't sleep. I had to swallow a little humble pie and admit that blogging is a great way for me to keep a virtual scrapbook of my family. There are so many funny and memorable things happening that I don't want to miss. So, I've joined the dark side, the start of my blogging career. Don't expect much- no I will not blog daily, no I will not update my page regularly, no I will not have background music. Let the blogging begin!
