Rising Star
This morning we got to go to an academic celebration for rising stars. To be invited a student had to improve their second quarter gpa at least .5 above their first quarter gpa. Kelsie is the rising star we celebrated today. I did not even know this existed. I am sure I have had older children get this, but I think they just did not tell us. It was fun to be there with Kelsie. Her favorite part, was the fact that she got out of her first period class. Second favorite was the donuts they provided for the students. It was fun to be there with her.
In other news, I saw my doctor yesterday. They retook the x-rays. I fully expected to see completely healed bones. I was wrong. The fractures are still visible on the x-ray. There is improvement though, so I am still heading in the right direction. He did tell me to stop using my cane while at home, as tolerated. What does this mean? PAIN! Yep, it hurts a lot. My biggest challenge is to not walk like Igor. It is much easier to limp, but that causes more problems than it solves, so I have to work very hard to walk normally. I am not always successful, but I am trying. He also said I should only need another month of physical therapy.

Coming Along
Physical therapy is not the funnest activity I have ever done, but it is so nice to be doing something. I am in pain, but at least it is going toward something. They think I am ready for a cane. I am a bit silly, but of course I had to find one with a little Jann style. I tried to borrow a cane, but it is hard to find one that is tall enough for me. So, I just decided to purchase one. I found one for a great price, with some definite style. No one that knows me will be surprised at what I got. It is purple.
On another topic, Nathan is always making us laugh. Here is his latest. He came in my room. Climbed into my bed. Pulled up the covers, and with a contented smile said, "my natural habitat." He is a funny boy.
