Long time no Post!!

I have been without power until yesterday afternoon so I have not been able to post! I am so glad to finally have power! Man, times like these really show me the things I take for granted. It also shows me how much I have to be thankful for. I have been a nomad for the past 2and 1/2 weeks! From Dallas..to the lake...to College Station...to Allan's parents...and finally to Lumberton!! It has been a bit stessful at times, but I am thankful that we had somewhere to go!

Dad is still doing well. He enjoyed giving me hard time as often as he could as we were evacuees together! He has an MRI scheduled for Wednesday, and the appointment with the doctor is Thursday. I will let you know what we find out :)

I hope that you are all doing well after the fury of Ike!!!

Hope you guys are all safe! Mom and Dad left Thursday morning before the crowd, and have been in Dallas. It has been a ''trip" to say the least but we are so thankful that we are all safe and there is no damage to our houses! I hope the same is true for you!

We are leaving this morning and heading to the lake house to stay until we get power.

Just wanted you guys to know where we were!!

Stay safe!!

Howdy folks-

Dad is doing really well :) He is feeling good and trucking right along! He has his appetite back, and he is eating everything in sight! And yes, he is still eating pop cycles!! Mom loaded up and headed out last week well before any talk of evacuations for Gustave and headed to Dallas. They stayed with Dolores and Ervin at Shelly's house. It was a great excuse to take a little road trip-they both really enjoyed a change of scenery. :)

We are so pleased with how Dad is doing, and we are so thankful for a God who is bigger than Cancer!!!

If I may ask you to remember a dear friend of our family in your prayers. Kathy Menzel is currently undergoing intense Chemo for stage 3 breast cancer. She is a lady of strong character, faith and fight-Please lift her up as she battles this dreadful disease. We all know and believe that prayer is powerful and effective......Please join me in lifting her up in prayer.
