Life Lessons Learned From A Puzzle

Here are a few life lessons that I learned from putting a puzzle together this weekend:

- So many pieces can seem overwhelming at first
- Preparation and sorting is very important for success
- Once piece at a time will get you on your way
- Finding the first match can be hard
- There is no right way to start outside or inside first
- You must have a strong outside to keep the inside together
- Having a strong outside makes building the inside easier
- A kink in the outside no matter how strong it looks will make it impossible to complete the inside,     You must find the one incorrect piece and put it in the correct place. You will not be able to finish the important inside work and complete the puzzle with this mistake.

-

- One piece in the wrong place will take many other pieces in the incorrect place before you realize that you have a wrong piece SOMEWHERE messing it all up!
- Once you remove that one wrong piece the rest seem to fall in place.
-There is only one way all the pieces fit together but no certain order you have to follow to get them there
- Some pieces are more beautiful on their own but their beauty does not compare when all the pieces are together
- The pieces that I think are beautiful are not the pieces that you will think are beautiful
-Although many pieces look the same they are all slightly different if you take the time to look
-If you give up you will never see the beauty of the big picture
- Just when you think you will not find another match....you do
- Persistence if the key
- True  friends will come over and help you put the pieces  together
- Sometimes you need to step back to look at the big picture
- It helps to walk away and come back
- It does not matter how long the process takes as long as you keep going
- People do NOT like you invading their space
- Finding the piece that someone else has been looking for for 20 min is frowned upon
- Finding others missing pieces over and over again is bad enough... but celebrating each time will cause a fight
- Not everyone wants to hear you sing or whistle while you work
- Not everyone wants to high five you when you find a hard piece
- Things can become addictive before you know you are addicted
- Who puts in the last piece of the puzzle is important and means more to some than others.
- No one remembers who started the puzzle only who finishes it.
- Putting the last piece in feels SOOOOO good!
- Taking the finished puzzle apart to start a new one can be sad

The Pixie Progression

So there is this thing called a pixie cut. Have you heard of it? Oh you have! Yeah me too! Not only have I heard of it but I did it.  Here is my progression to a pixie.
This is the first time that I have seen all these pictures side by side. (The final one is current) I have to tell you there is something I like at every stage. Well I didn't like the soccer mom stack that much but that cut was birthed from a botched cut.... So it was better than a chunk missing out of the back.  I always get asked why I cut it. To be honest I don't have an answer. My answer is truly just why not? This is not my first rodeo and maybe the reason I'm not too worried about it. First was in high school and yes it was inspired by Kerri Russell and the show Felicity. I never thought I could go short with curly hair. But thank you Kerri you made us all believers!
And now seeing this picture I apparently was more okay with a fro than I am now! I will say that both times I have cut my hair I have felt like I was starting new. And I always feel bold afterwards! There is this small lie that I was lead to believe...Your hair will be so easy they said, you just have to get up and go I was promised. Well straight hair gals you need to apologize for spreading those lies to us thick curly hair girls! Although my hair is so much cooler in the summer, it is NOT easier. It is triple the work. In order to be "easy" I would have to go shorter and a buzz cut is just not an option for me at this moment. My curl is cut in half. What does this mean you ask? It means I have devil horns if I try to rock my curl. And the only time I dared to run to the store with devil horns, I saw someone I went to high school with. I think I saw her last in high school. Awesome....grrrrrr.... Go ahead, tell everyone we went to high school with how horrible I look now! Okay that is exaggerating  I know but bad hair can make you feel this way. So this insecurity leads me to flat iron my hair every day! Not only a pain in my bum but I'm sure I am really damaging my hair. So this brings me to the grow out. ( yes my husband will love to hear this as he is not a fan) For me I just miss my curls. Almost as much as I missed the red! I don't think I want it as long as before. I just want to wash and go and this can only happen for me with a little length back. My husband does not understand why I go get my hair cut every 8 weeks and come back "looking the same" so I've decided to just forgo cuts during the grow out and rock the mullet! Because you never know when you need to go from business to party at a moments notice! Tehe

A Fresh Start

I have had this blog for a while and I just stopped blogging one day.  I really wanted to start a blog as it not only was trendy (and oh how I want to be trendy) but seemed like a good way to document our life.  So now that I am  older  wiser, I think that I would enjoy telling my story.  I went back and forth if I should make this a public blog or a blog that only I could see and I decided that it wouldn't be any fun if I was the only one laughing at my crazy life.  So here I am blogging again.  I deleted all the old posts and decided that it would be a fresh start.  From this blog you can expect over sharing, too much information, lots of song references and even more than that I can promise more RANDOMNESS than you can handle...but hey if you know me that would probably be the word used to describe me most! (Other than a jabber jaw that is)
