Why is it a hectic November you asked?

It's largely because the fact that I've been going on 4 work interviews this month alone and I managed to get many of the things that I should have been done long ago, within this particular November. It looked like I'm lazy and always take things for granted is it? Maybe so. But in my defense, I wasn't able to do those things because of reason that can't be avoided.

The 4 Interviews

I had an interview on October. As you can see, it didn't turn out well because I'm still searching for job a month later. It was for a graphic designer post for a boutique in Meru, near Mydin Meru. I really did thought that I would get the job. But, nevermind about that. It wasn't meant to be.

November came and I got 2 SPA interview and both of the interview was scheduled on the same day. The officer said I was lucky to get called for 2 positions. And I do feel lucky at first. Then when I came in for the interview, then I realized I've made a mistake on when I filled in the online form. I was overqualified for the job as the officers say. For both of the job to be exact.

They said they wouldn't be call up for the job. It's okay. From my point of view, it was a good exposure to me. An experience that I wont get anywhere else. I had fun during the interview. Met new people. The second interview was excellent as the officers was super sporting. The interview was more like a chat session. We changed thoughts on many topics regarding work, the country and others. The officers told me to continue playing rugby if I could because it's a great sport. Haha!

The other 2 interview was with Finisar. An electronic devices company. I had 2 interviews because I actually failed the first one. They didn't see me as a good enough candidate for the job. Mainly because my lack of knowledge on electronics. But the HR Officer was great enough to let me try for another interview with another department. So this time I studied more for the interview. I read up on what I've learned during my diploma. Electronic parts, semiconductors, fiber optics and others that I could.

So the second interview started well. The interviewers asked me what did I learned during my diploma, why haven't I got a job although it has been a year since I graduated. I managed to answer those questions perfectly. Then he asked me how to use a multimeter and that was the end of it. Haha!

I totally forgot how to use one. I tried my best to answer him but it wasn't good enough he said.

I didn't know that he was from the testing department where they majorly worked on testing devices and components. If I knew back then, I could have studied on multimeter. How unfortunate.

It's okay I guess. Maybe it wasn't meant for me. But I did enjoy the interview. It was a fresh new experience.

So yeah. Still jobless right now.

The IC and Passport

My IC was broken. The chip couldn't be read when I was trying to register a bank account. So there's the first casualty. Didn't manage to register a new bank account. Told you it wasn't because I was lazy.

A few days later, I went to JPN to renew my IC. Got my number called. I searched for my IC in my wallet. Then I laughed. I left my IC at home. The officer on the counter also had a laugh at me. So clumsy.

At the moment I was typing this, I've already successfully renew my IC and managed to make my passport. However, I haven't been able to register a new bank account yet. Maybe tomorrow.

So, goodbye November. December is coming. Then comes 2017.

Sejak kebelakangan ni, aku lebih banyak habiskan masa di YouTube daripada laman sosial yang lain. Sampai aku rasa macam Facebook atau Twitter (2 main social media platforms I used) ni dah tak ada apa yang menarik sangat. I feel like the contents on Facebook or Twitter are dull compared to apa yang ada di YouTube.

It's not about the medium. It's not about aku prefer medium video lebih daripada penulisan. Aku suka penulisan. Aku suka membaca. Aku suka menulis. Tapi seperti yang aku kata, contents yang ada di YouTube lebih menarik. Mungkin di Facebook or Twitter aku tak jumpa contents yang menarik tu, mungkinklah.

Okay. To be fair, bukanlah tak ada langsung contents yang menarik di Facebook/Twitter tu. Ada je. Tapi tak banyak. Jadi secara semulajadinya, aku beralih ke YouTube to get the contents yang aku mahu.

Enough chit chat, let's get it started.

1. Mark Wiens - Migrationology

Video pertama Mark Wiens yang aku tengok was the one yang dia makan di kenduri kahwin somewhere in Langkawi.

In that video, I can see the sincerity and the pureness of his emotions or expression yang dia suka apa yang dia makan tu. Aku tertarik dengan reaksi dia if dia suka makanan tu - which is dia akan lentokkan kepala dia ke sisi and gelak or mengekek dengan happy. It's a pure reaction from him. You really enjoy seeing him eating and reacting to his food.

And bila dia makan, dia tak beragak kadang-kadang tu. Big portions. Lots of plate on the table. He really wants to eat.

Right now he is currently on a 'Round The World For Food' tour. He is in Barcelona right now.

Yes. He travels for food. A lot of travel, a lot of food.

If you're a person who loves food, loves to travel, love to see the culture of the world, definetly go check him out.

2. Casey Neistat

He is a filmmaker and one of the most popular you-tubers nowadays. He makes daily blog of his daily activities. From buying his breakfast, riding his booster board to work, travel the world for conference or events, flying drones all around the world or playing with his daughter, it's fun to watch him.

I don't know how to say this, but I feel like his vlog is a level above other daily vlogs that you may encounter on YouTube. Maybe it's because of the energy he brings, the positive energy that he shows in his vlogs, you can really feel it. His optimism and free spirit, betul-betul buat the viewers liked him.

He starts his vlogs with a timelapse of New York city then continue to what ever he is doing that day and at the end of the day, he ends his video when he feels like nothing interesting is gonna happen next.

Antara episod vlog dia yang paling aku suka is the one where he rides first class airplane on Qatar Airways. On that episod dia kongsikan macam mana rupa first class flight on the plane like how was the seat, the bar, the food and the 30 minutes shower that comes with the first class flight. So wonderful. Sampai aku rasa macam I need to be on that flight one day.

By the way, the seat for that first class flight is a whopping 21000 dollars. Check out the video, here.

He already have 709 videos, a total of 5,667,208 subscribers and 1,261,295,003 video views. For the record, he just started making this daily vlogs early 2015. But, already achieving a billion video views and if I'm not mistaken, every single video he uploads has an average of a millions views. His channel is catching viewers attention faster every day.

Fun fact. He is one of the wealthiest youtubers on the planet. He made 2 million dollars for over a year just from making these daily vlogs.

3. Primitive Technology

Kalau tak silap, video pertama Primitive Technology yang aku tengok is di Facebook. Ada page apa entah yang share. Aku jumpa satu je video tu di Facebook and I was looking for another for a few days tapi tak jumpa. Nama akaun or orang yang buat video tu pun aku tak jumpa.

So a year later, which is last month baru aku jumpa YouTube account Primitive Technology ni.

I'm not sure apa nama pemilik akaun ni. Yang aku dapat tahu, he is from Australia and he makes primitive technology looks cool.

Dia buat rumah guna kayu, akar, tanah liat. Dia tunjukkan cara mudah nak nyalakan api, tangkap udang, buat alatan memburu dan lain-lain lagi by using apa yang ada dalam hutan.

There's one video yang dia buat mesin menenun dan tenun guna ranting kayu dan kulit kayu. Hasilnya, macam tikar untuk alas duduk dia. Super creative and inovative. Power betul dia ni.

A fun fact is, dia baru set up YouTube account dia Mei 2015. Just over a year and 22 videos later, dia dah pun ada 3.2 juta subscribers and a total of 169,777,682 video views.

Bayangkan baru ada 22 video tapi viewers dan subsribers gila punya ramai. His contents are really awesome and original. One thing yang bezakan dia dengan YouTubers lain yang upload content yang sama dengan dia is, in his videos, he doesn't talk at all. Not a word. And in his videos dia kekalkan bunyi hutan as background noise/music for his videos. Others Youtubers yang aku jumpa, they talk a lot and campur music dalam video. Langsung tak terasa feel hutan macam dalam video Primitive Technology.

So, have a look. 22 video tu, tak sampai sehari boleh habis tengok dan bila dah habis tengok semua tu, pasti rasa tak puas. Haha

4. Miller Knives

This here is a channel that makes weapon. Tapi what's interesting is the weapon forged are made from barang-barang terpakai seperti ladam kuda, besi terpakai, spanar dan syiling.

Another thing yang best about this channel compared to others (yang juga make weapons) is:

A. He made the video fun to watch.
B. No music. Just the sound of the weapon being forged, hammered and asah.
C. The videos aren't that long. Videos on this channel ranged from 3 to 8 minutes. So you wont get bored.

Subscriber: 85,519.
Videos Views: 8,159,513.

Thinking of Making Money From Videos

1. Do you have certain place at home for reading?
I usually read on my bed. Baring. Kalau baca sambil duduk, it would be on my desk. I don't know why, tapi baca sambil baring feels lagi selesa.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Which ever I can get my hands on. Mana-mana pun okay. Resit pun pernah guna.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
Yes. I can. I do stop reading just like that - when I fell asleep. Tapi selalunya akan stop by chapters.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?

A total NO if I'm reading on the bed. Kalau kat meja, minum is okay. But makan, I don't think so.

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Music, yes. TV no. I prefer to dengar instrumental music masa membaca atau dengar lagu korea. Kenapa lagu korea? Sebab I don't understand the language, so it won't bother my reading. I can enjoy the book and the rhythm of the song.

6. One book at a time or several at once?

Several is fine. But once I get into the groove on one book, I'll stick to it sampai habis. Tapi buku self-help or motivations memang takkan baca sampai habis. Ia akan jadi rujukan dan baca when I feel like it.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?

Love to read at home. Tapi there's no problem what so ever to read somewhere else. I kind of like the idea of reading everywhere. Show off reading, kot?

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
I don't read aloud. I prefer to hear the voices in my head. Haha!

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?

Skip paragraphs, maybe?

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?

Cuba sedaya upaya untuk keep it like new. I've gone mad once sebab my adik suka-suka hati dia je bukakan my new book.

11. Do you write in your books?
Never! I take notes. I took care of my books dearly.

If there is a tip for me to share to those SPM candidates, it would be - stay modest/humble after the paper. Jangan bongkak atau cakap besar.

If someone asked you how was the paper, just say "Alhamdulillah. It was good." or "InsyaAllah. Semuanya okay." Jangan sesekali kata "Senang je." atau "Confirm dapat A!". No. Tolong kawal diri daripada cakap besar macam tu.

It's mainly not about being rude to orang lain yang mungkin find the paper hard. It's about tawakal. Walaupun kita yakin boleh jawap semua soalan atau most of it dengan baik, tapi kita kena ingat, kalau nak A tu Allah juga yang beri. Allah punya kuasa untuk menetapkan segala sesuatu.

Just imagine, disebabkan kita cakap besar selepas exam, Allah hukum kita dengan tidak berikan kita skor yang selayaknya dengan usaha kita (masa menjawap exam). Kenapa aku cakap macam ni? Sebab perkara ni dah jadi pun pada aku 9 years ago masa aku PMR.

Aku ingat lagi, masa tu paper Bahasa Arab. Aku study extra hard untuk paper Bahasa Arab ni. Aku determined to get an A for it. Sebab aku nak buktikan yang aku juga boleh skor untuk Bahasa Arab. Aku nak buktikan yang aku bukan hanya baik dalam Bahasa Inggeris.

So I answered the paper, got out of the examination hall with a smile on my face because I know that I've given my best and I've answered well. There is hope for a straight A. Diluar dewan, Ustazah menunggu kami. She asked me how was the paper and I still remember my reply to her.

"Confirm A lah."

Bukan main lagi aku masa tu, cakap besar. I was happy. I'm in a lot of joy for being able to answer the paper. So much joy sampai aku lupa diri. Aku lupa untuk bersyukur pada Allah. Lupa yang Dialah yang punya kuasa untuk tetapkan samada aku dapat A tu ataupun tak. Hell. I didn't even remember if I said Alhamdulillah back then. So naive. Naive ke? Haha!

Bila keputusan keluar, I managed to get A for all of my papers except for Bahasa Arab. 8A 1B. It wasn't bad. It was a terrific result considering I was a candidate daripada kelas paling hujung. By paling hujung I meant dari segi akademik. But for me, and for some yang saw the potential in me, I should have gotten the 9A.

Tapi it's okay. It happened for a reason. It serves as a reminder for me. I do not see it as a punishment in any way.

I learnt the hard way to always think before you speak. Sentiasa beringat yang setiap apa yang kita cakapkan, ada kesannya. Sematkan dalam diri, setiap usaha kita, Dia yang tentukan the outcome. Kita kena tawakal. Jangan cakap besar.

So people, remember to always bersyukur in life. :)

Rindukan Zaman Belajar Sebenarnya

Bersembang dengan member sekapal selam, bila ditanya sedang buat apa, aku beritahu tengah siapkan poster program alumni. Tiba-tiba katanya, beliau dengki dengan manusia yang pandai multimedia ni. "Nak dengki pebenda?" Tanya aku. "Nanti ajar aku pengucapan awam. Aku dengki sebab aku tak reti, tak pandai." Aku tambah perasa, biar enak. Saja cakap macam tu sebab dia memang latih orang berdebat. "Ahh... I see your point." Balas beliau. Macam ni la kita, kadang lupa yang kita punya kelebihan dan kemahiran masing-masing. Samada ianya bakat semulajadi ataupun suatu yang dipupuk sejak kecil. Ataupun benda yang tiba-tiba kita minat dan kita latih diri kita sehingga jadi mahir. Jadinya macam ni (lupa diri) biasanya sebab kita jatuh penat dengan benda yang kita buat tu. Kadang kita buat sehabis baik sampai satu tahap kita rasa 'stagnant', rasa macam takda penambahbaikan. Rasa macam dah lama kita buat, tapi takda langsung kemajuan. Macam mana gayanya nak atasi benda ni? Kalau aku, yang menghadap benda-benda multimedia ni, biasanya aku atasi dengan ubah style design aku. Cuba benda-benda baru. Kalau dulu aku cuma buat poster dengan background kosong, sekarang cuba guna gradient pulak. Itupun lepas aku minta pendapat sifu. Kalau member yang seorang ni, mungkin boleh cuba teknik latihan yang lain pula. Aku nak cadangkan teknik apa, aku takda kemahiran. Nanti tanyalah sifu-sifu. Kau dan aku, beringatlah untuk bersyukur dengan apa yang kita ada, apa yang Dia beri pada kita. Bagaimana nak bersyukur? Salah satu caranya, selain daripada kita gunakan kelebihan dan kemahiran yang ada sebagai sumber pendapatan atau hobi semata-mata, ada baiknya jika diusahakan sesuatu yang boleh bawa baik pada masyarakat dan alam. Fikirkan juga saham akhirat kita. Tak kisahlah apa yang kita buat tu, besar atau kecil. Janji, ada suatu yang kita beri. Kata Theodore Roosevelt, 'Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.' "Serius tau, nanti ajar aku pengucapan awam. Teach me masta!" "Menganjing tak habis-habis!" Nasib baik sempat siapkan poster on time dalam pada menganjing beliau tu. Hiks. Aku kepenatan hari ini. Lain macam punya penat.

Semalam di kampung sepanjang hari. Macam-macam aktiviti. Daripada kenduri sampailah ke menebas dahan pokok rambutan. Mengupas rambutan-rambutan (bawak balik rumah letak dalam peti ais // makan time sejuk-sejuk - sedap!). Malam baru sampai rumah. Sampai ke tengah malam menyiapkan surat-surat program.

Hari ini buat ais krim. Hantar ais krim. Masuk pekan beli barang-barang untuk masak ais krim. Kereta mati tengah pekan pulak. Tersadai aku dekat 30 minit kat tepi jalan. Petang teman adik pergi uruskan hal masuk U. Menjelang maghrib aku dah worn out. Lepas maghrib terus terlelap. Ais krim baru 20% je siap buat.

Lepas isyak sedang aku siap-siap nak teruskan buat ais krim, mak datang.

"Nak mak tolong ke?"

Pelawaan mak aku tolak. Aku tahu mak pun penat. Penat-penat aku, penat lagi mak. Pagi uruskan rumah. Petang masuk kerja. Lepas isyak baru balik rumah. Sampai rumah, mak uruskan benda-benda lain dulu sebelum masuk rehat.

"Tak payahlah. Mak rehat. Tidur."

Mak abaikan je aku. Tahu-tahu mak tengah tolong tuangkan ais krim ke dalam plastik. Jadi kerja aku adalah ikat plastik je. Jadi kerja lebih cepat siap. 30 minit lebih gitu selesai dah.

Itulah mak. Mungkin mak boleh nampak aku penat, layu lain macam masa tengah susun work station sebelum nak mula isi ais krim. Itu sebabnya mak insist nak tolong juga aku tanpa pedulikan penat diri sendiri.

Sempatlah bersembang sikit dalam tengah mengerjakan ais krim tu. Nak sembang banyak aku tahu mak penat. Kalau sembang jugak memang lambatlah siap. Lambat mak rehat.

Terima kasih mak. Selalu ada melayan, membantu dan memahami anakmu yang seorang ini. Anakmu ini pasti akan membanggakanmu suatu hari nanti.

Nota 1: Selesai buat ais krim tadi aku minta mak tolong buatkan air teh. Alasannya - badan penat macam ni, kalau dapat air teh mesti refreshing. Kalau aku buat sendiri, mesti mak tak bagi. Sebab mak tau aku akan buat manis-manis. Jadi tak nak mak risau (marah) aku buat manis, mintalah mak tolong buatkan. 5 minit kemudian siap dah air teh. Yeay. :3

Nota 2: Esok nak berjalan ke Selangor pula dan aku baru je siapkan laporan program yang nak kena sumbit esok pagi. Bila nak tidur?
