Fresh

Well, Tis the season for holiday shopping! Which I plan to do A LOT of! But I also have more news. I got another job! Thats right, another one! I'm really really excited about this employment opportunityat The Buckle. More than anything I'm just excited for the killer discount! Wahooo! Things might be a little hectic with finals only 2 weeks away, and Apello keeping me busy in the afternoons. Who am I kidding, things are going to be wild and I cant wait! As long as I have my priorities in order I'll do just fine! So If you need to locate me in the next month or so and cant find me.. I'll either be in 1 of these 4 places. Because 2 places at once is obviously impossible..

Apello: Being the most amazing secretary/phone operator/customer services representative, of all time!

UVU: Being the greatest student of all time (at least thats what my mom thinks)

Buckle: I'm not really sure what I'll be amazing at here, but I know I'll be good at it!

Home: Or here, Sleeping, Eating and spending time with the ones I love, (and being amazing at it of course).

Wish me luck!!!

Decisions Decisions

Once upon a time I saw this movie.. There were 2 things I loved about it. Handsome Rob, and the infamous Mini Cooper. Well last week I went out and bought me one. My chevy blazer needed some minor repairs and I had the gas guzzler nearly paid off! But I made my decision, and traded that bad boy in for a saucy little mini. Those of you who know me well know that i've been dying to sell the Chevy since the day I got it.... 3 years ago. It wasn't the car i wanted, but my dad thought it was a good idea, so I went along with it. But I hit that point in my life where i decided I needed to drive something I like, I'm tired of paying for a car I hate to drive and have to repair all the time. I started looking for a new vehicle about 2 years ago and wanted to make sure I made the right decision. I thought about S2000, Scion XB (the box car), and Subaru WRX, but nothing I found fit just right. Until i Saw this.....

It was absolutely perfect!! Red is my favorite color of all time! I loved how sassy this mini looked and The Hunt was on!! Red with white stripes!! Well, i'm please to report, the hunt is over and I found me a mini cooper exactly like the one above, except its better, because its MINE!!! wooo!! without further adiou.. Meet the one and only ________ (I haven't named it yet, still thinking of the perfect name, I'm open to suggestions!!) But meet him anyway!!!

mm mm.. wasn't that delicious!!! I know you cant see the front of the car to determine if it has white strips or not, but let me just spoil the surprise and tell you, IT TOTALLY DOES! This baby drives that a flipping charm! Stops on a dime (ask torey, the seat belt locked so tight we nearly died laughing.) and my gas mileage went from 19 in the Chevy to 40!!!! I seriously am so proud of myself for this, I did it by myself, and didn't even have my daddy there holding my hand. I feel empowered in more ways than one. I'm totally please with every spec of the mini right down to the cup holder placement. I highly recommend you come take a test drive with me! But you might want to buckle up for safety!!!
Drive Happy! --cause I sure am :)

Weekend Report!

So I'm still waiting on pictures so I can post the post about how amazingly successful our clothing drive was. But I cant wait any longer! SO here is the update on Clothes for a Cause...We filled a long bed truck, with a shell on the back, FULL of clothes! It was a huge success!I never thought that doing a project like this could be so rewarding, but it was. More than anything it was a good reassurance that there are still good people in the world and our society isn't turning into selfish goofs. I'm so glad the project is over, 25+ hours of service was a lot. Thanks to everyone who donated! Your contributions are greatly appreciated! Cant wait to do it again!!

Clothes for a Cause

Alright people! For my communications class we are doing a service project, collecting clothing for the homeless. I'm really excited about this project and the impact it will have on our community. Homelessness is a serious problem and it makes me sad. So we have rallied together as a group and come up with a master plan! This Thursday we will be collecting clothing for the Homeless shelter in SLC. Then on Saturday we will be taking the clothes up and delivering them in person. (I'm a little nervous about that part) But nonetheless. It makes me feel good knowing that I'm helping other people. Today Sarah G. and I went and handed out fliers at some nearby Apartment complexes. We felt like it would have the greatest impact with the shortest traveling distance. But, I've never hated stairs so much in my life! after passing out nearly 300 fliers (one flight of stairs per apartment) we were beat. We've put a lot of effort into this project and we would sincerely appreciate any donations you can make! If you cant make a donation then please say a little prayer for my knees... (We will be climbing all those stairs again on Thursday to collect clothing).
Stairs, Stairs and more STAIRS

I'll post a follow up and let you know how the project went! Thanks for reading!

Alright people

I've made a recent discovery. As of my last blog post, I like blogging about other people. So for the next little bit that will be my main focus. To blog about the people I love. So for anyone who doesn't care, you might want to tune-out for the next few post's.

First on the list are my baby sisters. Lacey and Torey. I love them dearly and so does the rest of the world. Torey is the 2nd youngest of 6 kids. At 16 years old she's the most determined person I know. She loves to cook, (when my grandma inst hogging the kitchen) and is really good at crafty things. She has the most beautiful LONG blonde hair that I'm extremely jealous of. Torey works as a janitor in the elementary school right by our house. She just got a sexy little convertible mustang and is basically fantastic. (she walked in my room while i was writing this post and saw a pic on the screen, read the things i was typing and started to cry... ooooo, what a tender-hearted lover!!) Next on the list is Lacey she my sweetheart! I have more inside jokes and goofy moments with her than any other person on the planet..(true story). We share a room and even though shes a little messy, i love every second of it! Shes a hard working girl, and speaks her mind. Somedays she drives me nuts but most days we get along great! I'm so so blessed to have these beautiful sisters in my life. And I'm thankful for every blasted memory we share together. Love ya girlies!!

Golden

Me and my sisters at dad's wedding

Catching up on my blog just reminds me of how much I love my life.. and especially all the people in it! My dad came up this last weekend and it was a rather interesting visit. Instead of talking about himself the whole time, he actually asked us girls about our lives.. it was so so refreshing! He was fun and happy. He hasn't been that way in a long time! It especially got worse last year when he re-married. Regardless, I had my dad back for a day and it was great. We had a bonding moment or two when he let me drive the gold shiny Porsche! Whoa baby. It was insane! that's the only word I can use to describe it. My dad is a great guy even though he's struggling a lot in life, he keeps his chin up and keeps pressing on. I know for sure my dad doesnt read my blog, but I figure if I keep talking about how much I love him and support him as a person that I'll be able to express that more fully to him one day. Life is golden and I'm loving every minute of it!

Pumpkins

I know its a little late for this post, but nonetheless. I HAD to blog about it. So every year for Halloween we carve pumpkins. So does everybody else in the world. This year we saved the pumpkin seeds, coated them in goodness and baked them overnight.. whoa baby, they were delicious! I wish i could post a recipe or something so that everyone could make these delicious pumpkin seeds. But my mom and I kinda made it up as we went along. ha, maybe next year I'll write it down. Anyway here is a picture of the finished pumpkins. Half my family chickened out and only painted pumpkins!
