Tooth Eruption

Lucy's first tooth has officially made its way through the gum line. It seems that she has been teething since she was 3 months old. And to top it off there appears to be another that wants to join in the next few days.

We wish you a MERRY CHRISTmas....

We wish you a MERRY CHRISTmas we wish you a MERRY CHRISTmas.......

Our Christmas season was filled with much joy, love, and laughter. We were able to celebrate Christmas 4 different days. Gavin and Lucy loaded up on some new fun toys and so did Josh and I.
I love this time of year and all the time we get to spend with family. I can honestly say this is my favorite holiday and not because I'm getting things but because I get to GIVE.

A Story in Pictures

Christmas #1 was spent when Allen and Mandy were able to be here. We celebrated at our house and had a good time. We had Vegetable Soup and Potato Soup for dinner then snacked on cookies, sweets, and yummy drinks.

Christmas #2 was spent on Christmas Eve with my family. We ate dinner, went to church, looked at a few Christmas Lights on the way home to Becky's house. We gorged on cookies and sweets, again. (Which might explain the few extra pounds that have taken residence) We let the kids go first in opening presents. Gavin got a new CAR, well actually he unwrapped a battery to a new car. Lucy got lots of toys to grow with. Josh got a new multi-purpose screwdriver, to go into his new rolling tool chest. (The screwdriver was actually just a gag gift.) I got one of the most awesome gifts, a new Camera. You know, one that doesn't cause blurring every time I am trying to take a quick picture of my most uncooperative kids. Mom got the biggest and most surprising gift of all. Every Christmas season Mom half-heartedly makes fun of the Lexus car commercials. She always wants to know what kind of guy would just go buy their spouse a new car with a Big Red Bow. Since Dad plays the accordian, he thought he'd surprise her by playing "Name that Tune". He played, and played, and played until after multiple hints not being figured, Mom was escorted to he front yard where she saw the unbelievable. And it had a BIG red bow! (which took a little more work to have the delership agree to.)

Christmas #3, Christmas Day, was spent at home where we took it easy and let the kids open a few more gifts. Lucy thought her gift of wrapping paper tasted great and Gavin thought his tent was so much fun. He was slightly disappointed that he couldn't sleep in it that night.

Christmas #4, was spent a few days later with The Hornback side at Gary and Sheryl's. Before we left Gavin did a little more test driving. Sheryl stayed busy this year by making all the grandDAUGHTERs a tutu and the grandSONs Indian vests. We ate more yummy food and spent the afternoon playing with cousins and visiting.

This being Lucy's 1st Christmas she more then made out in presents, and of course Gavin did too. Overall we all had a very generous, loving, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Dump Truck Load of Fun

Today we celebrated you turning 3 with friends and family at the Allen Natatorium. You LOVE the water and were so excited to be getting to swim even though it was cold outside. You had tons of fun and loved getting to eat Rock Cake Balls. It was even more special because your Uncle Allen and Aunt Mandy made it down from Denver.

You started your day off getting to open a present from Uncle Allen and Aunt Mandy. Then after nap time we were off to celebrate.

I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story....

FIVE

Lucy,

You are becoming such a big girl. It makes me sad to think that you are almost half way through your first year of life.

Weight 14 lbs 14 oz. (48%) taken on 11/28

Meal Time: You are still nursing from mommy for the most but are still supplementing with bottles a couple times a day. You have started eating cereal in hopes that it might help you to start sleeping more thru the night. Daddy thinks it helps. Mommy isn't so sure. I still enjoy the night time feeding anyways.

This past month you have started to roll from your back to your tummy.

I am amazed at how quick the time seems to be flying by. It actually makes me kind of sad. I really hope it slows down a little. I don't want to miss a thing with Gavin or you.

Here is what we've been up to.....

Walk around the block

Never dress a girl in polka dots if you want her to look at the camera.

Happy Girl!

Love when you snuggle after nursing.

Up, Up and Away

Lucy got to experience her first plane ride this weekend. (You should feel lucky Lucy, Gavin didn't get a plane ride until he was 2) We (Lucy and I) flew to Denver so that we could attend my sister's baby shower. I was very nervous abou flying by myself with Lucy, but it ended up that Nana was going to be able to make the same flight we were. My nervers were called once we got into the air. Lucy did GREAT! I nursed her while we were taking off and landing. I kind of felt bad for the guy next to me, but a Mom has to do what a Mom has to do.

Us on the plane.
Of course there had to be snow time. So I went to the thrift store there and pad $10 for this snow suit. Not the cutest but it worked.

Starting to lean

Then she fell. She didn't really fuss much even though she had snow on her face.

Snow Angel making time.

1st Lucy snow Angel.

Happy Girl!
I know I said we went to a baby shower but I guess I didn't get any pictures. Just trust me when I say the new
Mommy To Be had fun and got some nice, cute, and needed stuff.

Four

Lucy you are 4 months old today.

I am still trying to figure out where the last 4 months have gone. The time is passing too quick. I guess the saying of "Time Flys When You're Exhausted From 2 Kids Having Fun" is adaquate for our life.

You certainly have been busy this month.
You have begun to roll from tummy to back alot, finding your hands and feet, and rolling to your sides along with smiling and laughing at Gavin. You even held your own bottle for the first time.

When you went to your 4 month check up with Dr. Blair he said all was well and you are growing GREAT! Once again shots turned your smiley face into a silent cry that made my heart drop. You recovered pretty quick once Mommy fed you.

You are are still nursing every 2 hours during the day with some supplement. I can't believe I am still able to keep up. You eat about 4 oz every feeding. (That's 1/2 what your brother was eating about this time)

You are sleeping in your room now. I got the bedding finished so I feel like its ready for you. You don't seem to mind sleeping up there. You are still wakig up 1-2 times a night to eat.

You got to meet your new Bestie Ella. She seemed so much smaller or you seemed so much bigger. It's amazing that in 4 months there can be such a difference.

Here you are getting to meet your new Bestie Ella.

We also had Warren over for the evening. He tried to put the moves on you already. Daddy had to seperate you two quickly.

Your Stats:

Weight: 14 lbs (44%)
Length: 25.3 in (79%)
Head: 40.4 cm 41%)

Everyone says you look just like Gavin but I can see the differences in you. Here's a picture to compare.

Your brother has been having fun this month too. We've gone to play at the park with friends, practiced spelling his "word" in pancakes, and he's been having fun at school. Oh and I should include that the highlight was getting his Super Why costume in the mail.

I think he fits better in the Bumbo now then when he was a baby and had super chunky legs.

Some SERIOUS cookie decorating.

Some SERIOUS cooking eating.

Beautiful Girl

Oh and I didn't mention that you got to go on your first airplane ride, but well save that for the next post. :)
