Halloween Fun!

I'm not big on holidays. It drives my family crazy that I am the way that I am, but I just see them as another day in the week. Because I have a little one, I try to participate in the holiday festivities, and maybe as Boston gets older holidays will be a lot more fun. But right now I would be just as happy not celebrating them. Being a school teacher also puts a damper on my bad attitude about the holidays, and I even had to dress up for Halloween! I dressed up as a witch, so I guess that helped a little. ;) Here is our little train conductor. We borrowed the outfit from my sis-in-law. Thank you! Boston looked so cute!
What's a two-year old without a tantrum?
What's Halloween without the Trunk-or-Treating? Look at all that loot! Maybe I shouldn't be such a humbug about Halloween.

The only way to make it through Trunk-or-Treating is by being able to take a break and rest for a while. Thanks to the owners of this chair, Boston was re energized and ready to go!What good is Halloween if we aren't able to indulge in all that candy! Thanks for suckers, it keeps smiles on Boston's face.

Halloween wasn't all that bad. The holidays never are. I just need to get out of my rut to enjoy them a little more.

Dear Blog....

I know it's been awhile, but hopefully I will be up to par soon. I have downloaded the pictures from the camera, so that is a step in the right direction. When I have the energy/desire to do a new post, you will be the first to know.

Sorry. Miss You!

Mini-Vacay

For our Fall Break, we decided to take a trip up to Salt Lake. I got to meet my brother's newborn twin boys, and we got to spend some time with Ian's sister and her family, and we were able to take Boston on the Heber Creeper. It was a lot of fun! Vacations, no matter how big or small, are definitely needed for my sanity. I oughta see if the Doctor will write an order stating that I must go on vacation every six months in order to stay in good mental health! Here is little Kaleb, so tiny but strong! Here is Mr. Austin, "the big brother."

The Heber Creeper!

Boston loves trains right now, so I found it very fitting to take him on the Heber Creeper. The train ride was 90 minutes long, and Boston enjoyed EVERY minute of it! He would either just stare out the window or play with his train engine. He is a great kid, and I enjoy these chances that we get to spoil him.

The "Palm" Tree! Ian's sister and her family have lived in many different states all over the country. They have been away from St. George, I think since they got married. They recently moved back to Utah, and they have seen more visitors in their home now than in any other residence they lived. It is great to have them so close again and I think they are enjoying all of the company. They have created this "Palm Tree" on their basement wall where each family member that comes to visit gets to leave their print behind. It is a cute idea, and we were excited to leave our mark on the wall. It was great spending time with them, and the best part might have been beating my nephew in a game called Settler's of Zarahemla. Keep in mind, this was my FIRST time playing the game.

Here is the face of the second place winner. Thanks for the good times and memories!

Staheli Farm

We went to Staheli Farm for a Family Night Activity. Boston had a lot of fun. We did some dancing, running, jumping, riding, driving, and lots of playing. Boston loved looking at all of the animals. He also enjoyed sharing with us all the sounds the animal makes.
Look at his beautiful eyes and handsome smile! It isn't very often that we get to capture this look on camera. We took our chances on the cow train. Boston enjoyed it, me not so much. The driver of the train would just do donuts, so we were driving through a bunch of dust. Not my idea of a good time.
Boston is obsessed with tractors. Whenever he sees one, he is sure to let us know by yelling "Tractor! Tractor! Tractor! Look dad, a tractor!" He repeats this over and over again until we say "Wow Boston, there is a tractor." Gotta love this kid.
After playing with the animals, playing with the toys, and waiting in line, it was finally our turn to board the tractor ride to the maze. Boston got to hang out with this handsome man! Boston was ecstatic to be pulled by a TRACTOR!
Boston's little legs couldn't keep up with his daddy's very well. But that didn't stop any of us from having lots of fun!

We will probably return here every year it is open. We enjoyed going to Staheli Farm, but most of all we enjoyed doing things together as a family.

Look What I Can Do!!!

Boston has learned how to take his clothes off, diaper and all! This usually happens during nap time when he isn't exactly ready to fall asleep.

I guess he could still use a little bit of help.

YIPPEE!!!

These Bad Boys are officially ours! No more car payments! Hip-Hip Hooray! We paid the Altima off in April, and decided last night to just pay the rest of the truck off. Our goal was to have it paid off at the end of October, but we thought...what the heck, let's just do it now. What a relief it is knowing that we don't have to make another car payment. We owe a little bit of money on Ian's student loan, which we will pay off at the end of October, and we will be DEBT FREE, except our house. Now a lot of you think I am crazy to work 60 to 70 hours a week, but this is why. We have been wanting to get out of debt to make it easier for me to stay home and live off of one income. We have met that goal by paying off nearly $20,000 of debt in one year! Now we can put some extra money in the bank, and hopefully we can work towards making me just a full time mommy, and maybe just a part time employee. We will see. It's just great to be on top of our finances. We hope it stays that way!

Family Fun

Ian and I aren't very good at holding an official Family Home Evening on Monday nights. Very rarely do we do a lesson with song, scriptures, activity, and treat. However, we do try to go out and do something as a family every Monday evening, whether it be an activity, a drive, or just going to get ice cream.

This past Monday we went roller blading down by the river and Boston Boy rode his bike. Boston loves loves loves to ride his bike, and a little exercise wouldn't hurt Ian or I.

Here is cute little Boston Boy grinning from ear to ear.

Here is my handsome husband looking good in his blades!

Boston is trying to catch up to Ian.

"Hey Napoleon, it'd be nice if you could pull me into town."--Kip

Here is Boston helping mom and dad out when we got too tired. I knew there was a reason why we had this little boy!

We have a lot of fun together as a family, and look forward to making many more memories!
