Quoting Alex

"I'm going to be a really good girl tomorrow. But today I'm going to be bad."

She lived up to her promise.

Unfortunately, She Speaks the Truth

Today was Crazy Outfit Day at school for the boys. So Alex wanted to join in the fun and insisted on wearing HER shirt backwards. While I was getting dressed, she was trying to convince me to wear mine backwards as well. I'm 9 months pregnant with less than a week until delivery, so this wasn't going to happen. But I didn't expect the conversation to take the turn it did!

Me: I cannot wear my shirt backwards, because my big tummy is in front so it wouldn't fit.

Alex: But your butt is fat.

Me: No, it isn't!

Alex: Yes, it's really fat.

Telling It Like It Is

Scene: Taylor is playing Lego Harry Potter on the Wii, and Nathan and Alex are watching.

Alex: Mom, is Hagrid fat?

Mom: Well, he is a giant.

Alex: He IS fat! He's fat like you!

(In my defense, I am 8 months pregnant!)

Playtime

Alex was playing inside a cardboard box. She was chattering away and I wasn't really listening until the box fell over with her inside. Thud.

Before I could even ask if she was okay, she smiled and said, "It was all part of the plan!"

Alex Embarrassing Me at Church

We were sitting in our pew when an elderly couple I hadn't seen before came in and sat three rows behind us. Alex pointed and shouted,

"Mom, look! Her hair is a cloud!"

Then later during the Sacrament Prayer:

"You kiss Daddy on the lips! You like it!"

No More Dora the Explorer!

Alex has been getting into a lot of things today. I was getting frustrated with her, and she was with me for stopping all her fun. A few minutes ago I took a roll of double-sided tape away from her, and she held her hand up (in "talk to the hand" fashion), and yelled, "Swiper no swiping! Swiper no swiping! Swiper no swiping!"

Big Plans

I was getting together with some friends this morning after the boys left for school. I mentioned to the boys that I was going to Salt Lake to see some people.

Nathan asked, "Are you going to see the Prophet?"
