My Closet Facebooker No More

Lately, Ry has been using my Facebook as much as I have, and I keep getting friend confirmations from people I don't know, and some of Ry's friends I've never met. At the same time he is using my Facebook, he will turn to me and tell me that Facebook is lame and that "Facebookers" are lame. Huh. I kept telling him he needed to make his own profile if he wanted to keep going on Facebook and quit using mine. He said, "No, then I would be lame too." (Apparently you are only a loser if people know you are on Facebook, not if you secretly borrow someone else's identity;)).

Yesterday, I decided to be sneaky and make Ry his own Facebook page. From the office/Beckham's room Ry said, "Did you make me a Facebooker?!" I yelled back, "Whaa? Who? Me?" He acted all bugged about it, but still spent most of the night on the computer seeing who he could find and adding buddies. After he was on it forever, I told him, "See, you're just as lame as the rest of us!"

Beckham Is...

SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! That's right folks, I am now part of the functioning world again. Erin and Kami, I took your advice. A little crying never hurt a baby, right? Beckham actually did surprisingly well. I was really afraid to let him cry it out, but I did it! I sat right outside of his door while he cried, but it really didn't last long (average about 15 minutes). He only cried for about three nights, and now he's an old pro at sleeping in his crib. I put him in awake and don't hear another peep out of him until at least 6:30 in the morning. On good days it's more like 8:00. Watch, though, since I posted this he will revert to waking up a few times. It's been a week though, so hopefully it continues (I am knocking on wood right now:)). I am proof for all you sleepless mothers out there: you can do it!
Here are a few pictures to show what we have been up to lately:

Here are Jax and Beckham in their Christmas church outfits before we left to church this morning.

Becks was such a little man in his vest and tie...I love it!

One of Beckham's favorite things is to roll everywhere. He isn't so interested in sitting up for some reason (he can do it if he wants, but he rarely does). He's all about the roll. Ry fell asleep on the floor with him this week while I was at Basics, and when he woke up Beckham was over on our tile getting ready to head down the stairs. Scary much! He's also trying to get up on his knees to crawl. When he doesn't have pants on, his knees are always red from him trying to get up on them.

Beckham's very favorite thing in the world (his thighs are proof) is eating. Anything and everything. He doesn't care if it's veggies or apples...as long as it goes in his mouth he's happy. Here is his favorite place in the house to be: his highchair. Obviously these are before eating. After eating, he's covered.

Beckham also loves to talk to us. His fav noise is, "dadadadada." That's what he's doing in this picture. I am working on changing it to "mamamama," but no luck yet.

This is what happens most of the time lately if you want to take a picture of Jax. Serious pic's are rare these days. Hey, at least his nostrils are clean, right?!

WhO LoVeS SaNtA?

Apparently, as you can see, my kids do. Surprise! I thought all kids were supposed to be afraid of Santa, but Jax was joking around with him at first and then telling him all about what he wants for Christmas. I hope Santa was taking notes, I think the list has partly changed since Santa went shopping:). At least he now wants a toy tiger for Christmas. He started out wanting a real tiger, but I told him Santa couldn't take a real tiger in his sleigh.

We also had a great time on Newgate Mall's little indoor playground. It was a first for Jax to get to play on it...since I swear when I look at it I see germs taunting me. It wasn't too bad though, Jax lived through the experience with a little help from my trusty antibacterial bottle. I guess we won't really be able to tell for a few more days. Isn't it two days for a cold to take effect? I'm pretty sure since most of the colds at our house pop up on Tuesday or Wednesday after nursery on Sunday. Just a side note to all those parents of nursery age children out there - If your child is sick, KEEP THEM HOME! One of my little pet peeves...anyway, back to the mall. Here are some cute pictures of my boys and Bennett...

Like my bloodshot eyes?! Note to Beckham: Night is for sleeping.

My HEART ATTACK!!!

Tonight I was more scared than I have ever been in my life!!! We went to Sears to get a chest freezer because my parents brought us over about a hundred pounds of meat. We were checking out and Jax ran away from us. I waited just a second thinking he'd come back, but when he didn't I went looking for him. He was NOWHERE to be found. Of course I started freaking out, and the sales clerk and Ryan started helping me look for him. I was yelling his name and running all over the top floor of the store like a madwoman, but he wasn't answering me. After a minute, they sent out a store wide announcement looking for him, and all of the sales personnel started helping us look for him. Still he was NOWHERE to be found. All of the customers around started searching for him also, and Sears posted managers at all the exits to make sure he couldn't leave by himself or with anyone. At this point, I really started freaking. I am definitely not someone to depend on in a crisis, we have learned. I started running around even more frantically screaming, all the while hyperventilating and I had tears running down my face. Finally, one of the customers found him hiding in a cubby behind a shelf. I have heard parents talk about these experiences, but this is my first. When we got to the exit, I grabbed him and hugged him as hard as I could, while sobbing of course. He didn't get what the big deal was. He said he could hear me yelling for him, but he was hiding. I get what they mean when they say you want to hug them and kill them at the same time. The whole ordeal only lasted a little over ten minutes, but I think I aged ten years in that time. I have to say, Sears was great about it. They have a great plan in place for lost children! Now I see why they are the "place America shops"!

***Congrats to my sis-in-law Leigh and bro-in-law Austin, who welcomed baby girl McKenna yesterday!!!***

***Beckham had his six month appointment today. He measures at 28 1/2 inches (100%), 17 lbs 4 oz (50%), and head cir. of 44 cm (55%). Apparently we have a really big boy! She even measured him twice, but Dr. Rose still thinks the nurse must have over-measured him and he is probably just over the 95%, but whatev. Either way he's perfect:). Right now he's a champ roller (he uses this as his mode of transportation anywhere he wants to go), and he is a tripod sitter (he uses his hands as support). He's turned into a huge Momma's boy, which works for me because Jax is such a Daddy's boy.

Beckham...ina?

If you add "ina" to the end of a name, does it make it girlie? Kind of like Georgina? I think so. What's wrong with getting Becks in touch with his feminine side? Those of you who know me well know I constantly dream of having a little girl. However, at the rate things are going, my chances for a little girl are on shaky ground. While my sis-n-laws and I were at Quilted Bear we saw a booth with really cute bows, and I thought...Why not? I don't think Ryan saw it quite that way when he saw the pictures, but oh well. The point is...Look what a cute little girl I am going to have! After I posted a picture a few posts ago of what my little girl would look like, I was a little worried. Now I know she'll be adorable. Also, the last picture is of Jax (making faces) and his cousin Boston (Uncle Tim in the background) who was in town this last week. What a great time the two of them had together!

Runnin' From the Law

Lately I haven't been keeping track of Jaxonism's. I feel really bad, because he's still always saying funny stuff, and I can't remember most of it. Here are three I do remember:

  • A little while ago, Jax informed me that Ryan better hurry home, 'cause the cops were after him. Since then, when we've been in the car a few times, Jax will suddenly yell, "Mom, go faster! The cops are coming, they're gonna get us!" Who knew we were such rebels:)?
  • A few weeks ago, one of Ryan's accounts at work had a load with drugs on it. Jordyn was at our house last week and Jax told her, "Jordyn, we better stay here. If we don't Dad's truck will have drugs on it again!" I guess he was listening a little closer than we thought. Good thing no one else heard, or they may have thought I have a dealer for a husband.
  • Last night, Jax was in his room by himself, and we heard a really loud noise, like something falling over. Jax ran into our room, and told Ryan, "Dad, it never happened." We still don't know what it was that supposedly "never happened."

I am going to make a goal to start keeping track of our Jaxonism's better. It will be great to have a record of this stuff when he gets older.

I Hate Teeth

Okay, so I like teeth once they are in, but I forgot how much I hate teething! I knew Becks was close to getting teeth, but I thought we had a little more time. Not so much. I came home from a church Volleyball tourney on Saturday, Nov 15, to see that both of Beckham's front bottom teeth were through the skin and a few on the top were on their way. Normally Beckham is one of the happiest kids I've ever seen, but lately, that hasn't so much been the case. He doesn't sleep at night, and during the day he wants to be held all the time. I picked this time to start running in the mornings at 5:30, and I am a walking zombie because I wake up so early after not sleeping hardly at all at night. I know, I'm just complaining, but I can't help it. During the day, I feel really sorry for Becks and the pain he is in, but when night comes I start thinking about how hard it is on me (selfishly). Hopefully it passes soon. On a brighter note, Beckham is starting to eat baby food. Last night he had his first taste, besides rice cereal and oatmeal, and absolutely loved it! He ate Sweet Potatoes, and I couldn't get it in his mouth fast enough for him. Every time I put the spoon in he would get so excited that he would spit part of it back at me. It was pretty funny. I ended up with yummy a.b.c. sweet potatoes on my shirt, but I'm glad he likes it. Here's some pictures of the aftermath of the big event. I should have taken a picture of my sweet potato covered shirt too:).

HaLlOwEeN

I was trying to take a picture of Spiderman before we went out trick-0r-treating, but he was hiding from me in the hall and wouldn't put his mask on. This is the best I could do.

Becks was a penguin for Halloween. Here he is on my mother-in-law, Nancy's lap.

We went around the neighborhood with Kara and Kambri of course. Kara's neice and nephew came with us as well. Jax loved going with the other kids.

This will be a good photo to put in their wedding video, don't you think?

Jax insisted on riding in Kambri's wagon with her, so Bennett had to find alternate transportation. Thanks Kara and Brandon:).

Jax at the tail-end of his fit (winding down). As you can tell he didn't love his picture taken, but whatev. Gotta capture the memories, good or bad, right?!

Does this kid look done, or what?! Here we are getting back to our house at the end of the night.

It seems like the older Jax gets, the more fun Halloween is. He loved going from door to door and saying, "Trick-or-treat!" This year I had my parents, Ry's parents, and my brother Jarod and his girlfriend over for dinner on Halloween. My mom and I took Jax out trick-or-treating and everyone else stayed at my house to give out candy. Apparently my 'rents and in-laws don't get many trick-or-treaters these days, so it was okay they were all at my house. We had plenty of trick-or-treaters come. Jax had a great time until we got to the other end of the neighborhood, in front of our old house, and then he threw a huge fit. I think he was just overwhelmed by the whole Halloween thing (this was his third trick-or-treating experience in two days), and he was done. I had to carry him hitting, kicking, and screaming, towards home. About half way home my mom told him he needed to be nice to his mom (since he was hitting and kicking ME), and his cry-screaming changed to screaming "I don't want to be nice to my mom!" the rest of the way home. He was screaming so loud people told us they could hear him down the street. SO MUCH FUN!!! Once we were home he was fine because then we let him give the candy to the kids who came to the door. Overall, it was a really fun Halloween. I loved that it was so warm! I can't wait for next year!

HaIrS CuT

Yes, that's right, I mean hairs cut. I think it included all of about fifteen hairs, or maybe a few more;). Beckham had grown some OUTRAGEOUSLY long hair on the top of his head, and the rest of his head was pretty bald. Most of the time they swept to one side like a bad comb-over. I was doing my hair one morning last week and decided to see exactly how far I could make the hairs stand up on his head with my hair wax. The following was the result:

My mom and some others had been giving me grief about how badly Beckham needed a hair cut, but I truly didn't realize it was this bad. I don't know why, but I was being a wimp about cutting Becks' hair, thinking it made him less of a little baby for some reason. Plus, I figured it was only a few hairs:). After seeing how bad the hair really was with wax in it, I took action. I think the result is pretty cute, don't you? He's still pretty much bald on the rest of his head, but he's kept it on top! Isn't that the opposite of most men;)?

Black Island Farm

On October 27 we went to Black Island Farm with some of my cute friends and their kiddies. It was so much fun!!! Thanks Lex and Toni for setting it up. This is definitely going to have to become a yearly tradition! Jax had so much fun with all his little friends, and there was so much for them to do. First, we went on a tractor ride out to a pumpkin patch and the kids got to pick out their own pumpkins. Then we got to go into a huge area with big slides (I think the moms had as much fun on the slides as the kids:)), animals, a train, and more. It turned out to be such a long day, but so worth it. The kids had a blast!

Ashley at the top of the fun slide.
Toni heading down with Piper.
My friends and a few of the kids (most were out playing). Missing: Ashley and Toni (taking the picture)
Jax was so excited when he got his pumpkin!

I love my boys!

Kara, the kids, and me on our tractor ride.

Here's our guide man on our tractor ride. He was a great guy, even going back out to find Avery's boot! Yeah for tractor man!

The kids LoVeD the train ride. Always a hit!

What Would Our Girl Look Like?

http://makemebabies.com/viewbaby.php?bid=7271562

I wanted to see what it would look like if Ryan and I had a baby girl. After seeing, I am thinking maybe we should just stick to boys. It looks like our little girl has a five o'clock shadow like her daddy...bad sign.

Becks Is 5 Months!!!

I can't believe that my baby boy Beckham is already five months. It is so sad how fast time flies. It seems like I was pregnant with him just barely, wondering what he would be like. I am so lucky to have such an angel baby. True, night time is a challenge with him, but he is so happy and so content all of the time. He is quick to smile at anything and everything, and LoVeS to talk nonstop. I took him to his four month doctor's appointment a few weeks ago (of course I didn't blog about it since I am a blog dropout lately), and his head size was in the 75%, his weight (15 lbs 2 oz) was in the 50%, and his height was in the 85% (I can't remember exactly how tall he was). I feel so blessed to be his mommy and love spending time with him every chance I get. His big bro Jax is such a ham, I feel like sometimes I don't to focus as much on my little angel Becks as much as I should. He's the best!

HaLlOwEeN:
Ry and I went to a Halloween party on Saturday night, and below are the pictures of our costumes. We originally ordered Tacky Tourist (more like fat tourist) costumes online, but when we put them on they were HIDEOUS. There was a blow-up tube that was supposed to go around the middle to make us look fat, but it wouldn't blow up round, so instead we looked like we had weird points all around the middle of our bodies. At the last minute, we went to the Halloween store, and this is what we ended up with:

I love adult get-togethers! It's so much fun to be able to focus on your spouse and friends without a million kids everywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with our kids and friends too, but it's just nice to get away and be fun grown-ups once in a while, ya know?!

Ryan's sister Leigh and her family came to visit from Colorado at the start of this month. It wasgreat to see them, and Jax loved playing with his cousins. Jax and Brendan only see each other about twice a year, but every time they do see each other it's as if no time has passed and they are best friends again. He talks about Brendan all of the time still, and asks when he can see his cousin. Leigh is having another baby, hopefully a girl (finally!!!), around the end of November or the start of December, so we will probably be going to visit them some time this Winter for the blessing. Sunday, October 5, we went to Ryan's parent's house for dinner with all of his family. Beckham, of course, threw up on his shirt soon after we got there and spent the rest of the night in his white onesie. They boys (cousins) had a great time together, playing with guns of course. Then we had a little birthday party for Ryan's aunt Pat, me, and Ryan's sister Leigh. Monday, October 6, was my and my mom's birthdays so we spent the day shopping at Gateway and Ryan took our boys to Cabela's with his family. They played hunting games and hung out. Jax can't wait to become a hunter. He talks nonstop about how he is going to go and shoot deer with his dad.

Grandpa Jon with the boys (Jax, Beckham, Brendan, and Logan) at Cabela's. The only one missing: Boston. We miss him!

Jax and Brendan, loving hanging out with each other!

Jax, Brendan, Logan, and Ryan's cousin Kaitlyn playing army in Ryan's parent's room.

I love my baby Beckham's blue eyes. They always look so sweet and innocent!

Gotta love my father-in-law Jon's faces. I think we have more pictures of him looking like this than looking normal:)
