My Birthday

So my Birthday was at the beginning of this month. I wanted to blog about it, but I just haven't had the time yet. On the Saturday morning before my birthday there was a pretty, blue, gift bag on the counter waiting for me. I grabbed it and jumped into Dale's lap who was sitting on the couch. "Can I open it now?"

He said I could but only if I didn't throw a tantrum when I didn't have anything to open on my actual birthday.

This year, he didn't ask for any ideas of what to get me. In fact when I started to list things for him during the week, he stopped me and told me he had already bought me a present. So I was very curious to see what my husband would have gotten for me, without my usually hinting or Store Ads with the exact item circled and the size written next to it. . . .

"Twilight" and "New Moon" !!!!!!!

How did he know! I screamed at him, "I never told you I've been wanting these books! How did you know!" In fact I had just asked a friend if I could borrow her's the night before. But she has a waiting list of friends who want to borrow her copy!

He looked at me like I was crazy "You've actually heard of these books? They're about Vampires!!"

I corrected him and told him that it is a love story written by a mormon author.

As it turns out, Dale had a business trip in Bowling Green, KY last month. While he was there he stayed at the house of one of his old friends'. The wife of this friend had just finished the Twilight Series and was raving about it to Dale. She told him he had to get them for me. Actually, Dale didn't even go to the store to buy them. He sent Her to go get them for him.

Still, I am so thrilled. I devoured my first book in three days and the second book in two days. (I love Jacob - I can't believe she choice Edward over Jacob!) I then gave the books to my mother who tore through them in one night each. The two of us are going together to see the movie this Saturday. I am so excited.

That same Saturday my Mom took me out for a makeover! I got my hair chopped off and some highlights put in, I am loving it! We also got some seriously painful pedi's. Seriously, never going back there again, to get my feet done! They didn't even have comfy massage chairs for you sit in! My feet hurt for like two weeks afterwards. I asked the lady how often she gets her own feet done. She said she's never had it done before!! Oh my gosh, did she not got to pedi school at all?? Cause' don't they like practice on eachother?

Anyway, here's my before picture:

And here's my new due:

I curled it up for the pic, it's actually much straighter and thinner.

And now here are some more pics of Dale from Halloween, he took these especially for my blog. You can click on them to make them larger.

Totally Peaved!

Jimmy, Lola, and I went to Toy's R Us yesterday to get Jimmy a reward. He actually pooped in the potty! Yeah! The kid just doesn't want to poop in the potty. When I ask him why he won't poop in the potty he says, "But I pee in the potty Mommy!"
I just don't know what to try now. I figure all I can do is keep telling him: "We poop in the Potty!"
Anyway, Toy's R Us still had a whole aisle of Halloween costumes. As much as my child loves dressing up in costumes I thought that would be an awesome reward for him. I found a perfect Leonardo the blue Ninja Turtle, it still had all it's accesories with it. But the tag read $21.99. I thought surely they must be on clearance, Halloween was like two weeks ago! I asked a sale's clerk about it . . .
Nope - not on clearence!
Who buys a Halloween Costume after Halloween?? Only Mommies who are looking for a bargain! Come on Toy's R Us, are sales really so bad that you no longer have after season clearence?
Jimmy was still happy with the Playschool, Batman Cave Imaginex. But still, I would have loved to of bought him that costume!

Halloween 2008

So Jimmy decided to be Dash for Halloween, actually being the Hulk wasn't even an option. He wanted his Daddy to wear his Hulk costume. Poor Jimmy didn't quite understand why it was too small for Daddy. My mom found a black mask at one of the Halloween stores and he loved it. For the first time ever he even let me put gel in his hair so that I could slick it back. He looked so cute.

We went to a small lunch/get together with some other Moms. Jimmy was the only kid that stayed in his costume the entire time. The gel had worn thin by the time we were ready to go Trick or Treating so Jimmy demanded that we put more gel in his hair.

The day after Halloween, he wore his costume again and demanded to have his hair gelled back up.

Ned of course dressed up as my Neddy-Bear. He actually liked the hat, it kept his paci in his mouth for him. But he didn't go out Trick or Treating with us, it was too cold.

Dale and I bought some face paint to dress ourselves up with. I bought a cute Tattoo to put on my face. It looked really good. The first person to see me was Jimmy. I walked into the living room, he was sitting on the couch. He looked up and stared for like 60 seconds and then he half whispered, "Wow."

Dale was so excited about my face that he wanted to do his like mine as well. It was pretty fun putting makeup on Dale. I can't beleive he let me. Especially the lipstick!

The picture doesn't really do him justice. If you can click on it and make it bigger, you can see all the rings in his ears and lips and nose. We walked over to the neighbors house to show off our cute little boys. The poor old women, she made small talk with us and then finally asked, do you guys live around here? We laughed, she didn't recognized us! I think she was kind of scared of Dale and all of his earings.
