Pictures

It's not much, but here's some pictures. It's been awhile since I posted any.

Kaylee's Story Time

First time with a sippy cup. She's not a fan. We definitely need to try different ones.

She loves shoes. She often gets caught trying to get to the shoes.
Kaden really wanted to feed Kaylee. Here's the result.

New Job

I'm a little behind in posting this, but Jaron got an intership with the LDS Church History Library in Salt Lake City! He'll be starting February 1st! I'll still be working in Logan, so he'll be commuting for now. We're still trying to figure out day care and if/when/where we'll move. Somewhere in the middle would be good! So, YAY!

Prayers

Last week in Sunbeams, the teachers asked for volunteers to say the prayers, give a talk, and the scripture in primary opening exercises for the next week. I found out on Friday that Kaden had volunteered for the opening prayer. I was a little surprised, but thought he may not realize that it was in the big room in front of the entire primary. I asked him about it and he was still super excited to do it. I went with him to help him. He whispered, and wouldn't talk into the microphone, but that's ok, because he did it!

He wouldn't let me leave to go to my class, though, so I sat with his class for a little while. I must say, I'm amazed that people survive teaching the Sunbeams. I think I'd rather be in nursery! But even more, I'd like to stick with my current calling of Relief Society pianist :) I know, now that I said that, I'm going to be called to something in primary now.

Our Sunbeam

Kaden started Sunbeams!

He actually went to part of Primary at my brothers ward last week. He didn't want to go at first, but he loved it. All week he's talked about the game they played where "the music gets louder when you get close to the picture, then it gets softer when you get far away." This was the motivation to get him to be excited about going to Sunbeams all week (well, that and the special underwear).

Well, we got there and he didn't want to stay. Partly, I'm sure, was that there wasn't enough seats in the first row, so the teachers said he could sit in the row behind. But, no one went to sit with him. I told him I'd stand in the back until they sang the first song. He wanted me to stay with him. Finally, another adult (I think one of the assistant teachers...?) came to sit with him. He still didn't want to stay there. Then, the teacher turned around and gave him a Pez. I think life was ok after that.

On the way home, I asked how Sunbeams was. His response was, "They just didn't play any games at all! We just had to raise our hand and pick up a paper and put it on the board. That's it!" So, despite the disappointment, he still said he enjoyed it. I guess our chorister just isn't as cool as the one in my brothers ward. I hope it will get better.

On a happy note, I asked what songs they sang. He said they sang "Long ago in a beautiful place" then he couldn't remember any of the words, but he really wanted to learn the song. I found it online (I guess it's the primary theme song this year...?) so we can learn it. He's really excited about that!

I managed to hold back the tears. I just can't believe my little guy is big enough to be in primary. He's really not big enough for that.

Army Crawl

Kaylee can officially army crawl. Here's the proof. She'll go for just about anything, except her toys. Shoes are the favorite.

Family Party

My dad's side of the family had a party while my parents were in town. So, last weekend we headed to SLC to be with them. We had the traditional pinata. They actually had two - one for the little kids and one for big kids. The little kid one was a sun that you're supposed to pull the strings on the bottom to get it to break open. There weren't many little kids and most weren't willing to even touch the pinata. So, of course Kaden goes and pulls off most of the strings. They had the kids hit if a few times to no avail. There was finally a hole big enough to shake the treats out. I have video, but it isn't great, so I'll spare you. Here's a few pictures, though.
And, of course, I didn't take any more pictures that weekend! I'm hoping my dad will send some of his (hint hint)!
