Hunting with Daddy

Jeremy and I both grew up hunting and we obviously want our girls growing up and doing the same. This year my dad took his motor coach out for us girls to stay in while Jeremy went hunting. Kaytlin thought it was great that Daddy got a buck!

The serious hunter...

4th Monthiversary

Brooke turned 4 months just prior to Christmas. She was still growing really well. She has always been a great sleeper and she was settling into a new room. At this point, I was back to thinking brown eyes :-)

Brooke has always loved grabbing her feet and holding them. She loves putting her legs up (in a relaxed position) no matter what she is sitting in (a car seat, grocery cart, or bath tub). She cracks us up. Always full of smiles and such a easy baby. We just adore her!

Here are some pics of us down South for Christmas :-)

The "Move"

KK helping Daddy put Brooke's crib together in our new place.

In November, we started just looking for a new neighborhood. Little did I realize we would be buying a new house within a few days! Jeremy at first wanted to move more into the Spring Branch area... me... not at all. Growing up in a small town, H-town is just a bit too hectic and traffic laden for me! Since we wanted to stay close to J's work, I convinced him to go west :-) Our friend, who is also a realtor told us about a great neighborhood, and we fell in love with it immediately! There was a builder in the neighborhood that we already liked and they just happened to have several spec homes they were trying to sell. We were just looking at them, thinking we would build and Jeremy really began to fall for our house. He was sold... but I was not at first. In my opinion it was too big (I like smaller houses)...he told me to pray about it and that night I did (although I have to admit, I went into the prayer with my mind set, no,no no...). Funny how God can totally change your heart and mind. That next morning, I came to terms that this is what God had for us and there was no doubt. We put our offer in and moved in, in December. We love, love, love our new neighborhood...miss friends from our other neighborhood, but we love our new place :-)

Brooke's 3rd Monthiversary

At three months, Brooke had definitely started putting on that weight. I loved it! She had 3 chins, and more rolls than you could count :-) Trust me, I was not over feeding her...the girl just never pooped... she just retained all my milk (aka ice cream :-) The doctor's were not concerned, so neither was I. Still she had darker skin, darker hair, and at this point, I was thinking blue eyes...
KK wanted in on the action too...

Random pic of the sister's in coordinating outfits... oh, the fun of being a mom of girls!

Kaytlin turns 2!!!

I cannot believe Kaytlin is already 2. My lil' blonde hair, blue eyed, sweet baby girl, melts my heart every day. She comes up with the funnest things and some of the most intelligent things (she constantly amazes, J&I). She is a constant ball of energy. Always conscious of those around her, and wanting for them to have fun, and be apart. She LOVES singing (some of her fav's are: The B-I-B-L-E, Jesus Loves Me, Father Abraham (all time fav), Twinkle twinkle, ABC's (of course), she loves playing outside, having tea parties, playing in her play kitchen, taking care of her babies, and shopping (what can I say... she is ALL girl!). We adore you precious Kaytlin, thank you making us smile constantly!

We held Kaytlin's second birthday at a kid's play gym called Little Gym. Kaytlin always loves going to parties here, so I thought it would be perfect! The theme was cupcakes (Kaytlin, loves cupcakes and it was fun to play hard and then decorate cupcakes. As party favor's the kiddos got their own apron to take home :-)

Our trip to Illinois

November was a BIG month for us... First, at then end of November was KK's 2nd Birthday, plus it was our first time to fly with Brooke, and we decided to buy a new house (totally a God thing... I will explain more later).

Mid November we headed to Illinois to visit Jeremy's grandparents and to help them move everything from their house (as they had/were moving into an assisted living apartment). Plus Brooke got to meet Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa for the first time AND we got to celebrate Kaytlin's 2nd Birthday while we celebrated Great Grandma's 88th Birthday.

Birthday Celebration for the 2 at Grandma and Grandpa's new place.

It's a Ranch Thang!

We love going to Aunt Judy and Uncle Johnny's ranch. The guys get to hunt (girls can too, but we usually choose to sleep in :-), the kids get to play with all the animals and outside and well, we LOVE the company!

2nd Monthiversary!

Brooke was really beginning to put on the weight. During Brooke's 2nd month, we had a real scare. She got a really bad cold. It got so bad (breathing wise) we had to take her into the emergency room. My first visit to the emergency room ever (Jeremy could not believe that), so you can imagine how I was freaking out.
Daddy holding Brooke when she was sick :-(

First matching pj's!

Then of course, our sweet KK..

Brooke's 1st Monthiversary

Looking back, I just think, WOW, she is so tiny. Brooke has always been an easy, mild tempered baby. Great sleeper (besides when she has been sick) and great eater (just wait... she has more rolls these days than you will be able to imagine). As it is evident, from the beginning, Brooke has had Daddy's skin and hair color. Her eyes, have always been quite perplexing (until lately)... at this point, I definitely thought brown was the color of eye she would have (and since then I have been gone threw 3-4 other colors..haha)...

Big Sister has always loved little sister... and always wants her around (LOVE IT!)

Kaytlin's 1st day of School

This past Fall we decided to place Kaytlin in our church's MDO program. It is a fabulous program run by amazing women, and Jeremy and I knew that it would be perfect for KK. Plus it gave me some one on one time with our newest joy, Brooke. I have to say (now looking back) it has been one of the best things we have done with/for Kaytlin. MDO has truly helped KK to come out of her shell, we are so proud of her and so happy and blessed that she has had the teachers she has this year! We just love them!

Some of Brooke's Firsts...

Her first at home bath

Her first outing (only 4 or 5 days old). So funny, because I would have never had done that with Kaytlin, but I was already getting stir crazy at the house, so I made my fam go out for dinner :-)

First time KK decided she wanted to read and "sleep" with sissy

First time at the park (when cousin Ava came and stayed with us)

First time watching KK swim with Daddy, Aunt Ashley and Cousin Ava

Her first time downtown at The Aquarium for dinner Ava
