Sitting on the trampoline reading books ... Pretty much a Mom's dream!
They were so hungry after church we didn't even bother to change before lunch!
Ella the Elf brought "sugar cereal" when she returned for Christmas. This is a BIG deal in our house!
Our lighted garland
McKinley learning to vacuum with Madison's help. Excuse me while I go put my feet up and eat some bon bons :)
This cute boy loves to eat!
Madison's graham cracker house she made at her friend Kylee's house
These two love to play in the pantry! They're always pulling stuff off the shelves and rearranging for me!
Dirky boy is excited to get new books at the library
So this happened. And now we own a baby gate. The little stinker can go all the way up in a flash but of course thinks the head first nose dive is the most efficient way to get down
Madison got her face painted with a soccer ball at our neighborhood Christmas carnival. She loves soccer!
Just because they're cute
Sometimes I forget what McKinley looks like without her glasses haha
I made a pan of fudge in honor of my Dad and Grandpa
We love park days in December!
I had to take Dirk to the doctor a couple days after Christmas when he was sick and Madison took this picture while we were waiting. Dirk had fallen asleep on me, which never happens anymore, but he really didn't feel good!
I found these two snuggled up on Madison's top bunk one night
Another rare sight that had to be documented! And a photo bomb from McKinley
So, Jordan and I are serious budgeters. Like, it's REALLY important to both of us. We keep every receipt, we go through our finances every Sunday night and we maintain a strict budget each month. I especially tend to get stressed out about money, perhaps as a result of growing up in a home where money was in VERY short supply. Now, Jordan works very hard and does a great job of supporting our family more than adequately, but we also have a lot of savings categories and future goals that we're working towards so we try to keep our day-to-day expenses low and we're pretty tight with our spending. Anyway, one day after I went grocery shopping I was kind of berating myself for the amount of money I spent and starting to get stressed out about not having enough. But I happened to glance in my pantry and something just stopped me as I looked at all the shelves full of food. I just felt overwhelmed with gratitude that we had so much when I know many other people have so little. It was a powerful moment and a much-needed reminder to me to be grateful for what I do have instead of worrying so much about what I don't! So I took a picture to remember :)
How does she sleep like this?
The girls got puzzles for Christmas and were very proud of themselves for finishing them! This is Madison's
