Emalyn

In April, our family was blessed with a beautiful baby girl we named Emalyn. She is so fun and has become Traedan's best friend. He is the one who first got her to really laugh. She is a little stingy with her laughter sometimes, but cannot help herself when Traedan is around. A couple of weeks ago, she got her first two teeth on the bottom and right now she's working on getting the top ones. She was a little slower achieving some of her milestones, but in the last month she has gotten teeth, learned to roll over from front to back, and learned to sit up for a minute or two unassisted. I think that she just worked on growing the first six months. She was 7 lbs 12 oz, 19 in long when she was born (3 weeks early). Now she is 19 lbs 12 oz, 27 in long. That's about the 97th percentile for weight and 90th for height. At least she's proportional! Here are some highlights from her first seven (almost) months.

Daddy and Leaves

Today Justin left for his first interview. Scary! He hugged both kids really tight before he left and we crossed our fingers, then after that Traedan relieved the stress he was feeling (wait! what stress?) by playing in the leaves with the neighbors.

"Snitches"

To avoid injuries, make sure you have a non-slip mat in your bath tub. Most important, however, is to NOT climb up the sides! Traedan learned this valuable lesson when he climbed up the side of the bathtub and fell, hitting his head on the side and requiring 6 "snitches"(as Traedan would say). Traedan was already telling everyone he was Harry Potter, so after the incident he got to prove it to them by showing everyone his "scah" (that's scar with a British accent). Justin put the stitches in and took them out. Sometimes it's so nice having a doctor in the family!

OSU Football with Daddy

Justin took Traedan to an OSU football game. Traedan is officially a Buckeye!

My List

Since this may be our last year in Ohio (secretly hoping it's not... ok, not so secretly), I have come up with a list of things I want to do before we leave. So here they are in no particular order:

1. Attend Circleville Pumpkin Show
2. Tour the Anthony Thomas Chocolate Factory
3. Visit Kirtland, OH
4. See Lake Eerie
5. Go to a Blue Jackets Game
6. Visit the Santa Maria
7. Visit Madison County's bridges

I am happy to say that I can now check off #1 and #4. Hooray for me!

Halloween Party

This party was really fun! We were supposed to be Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, Wendy, and John. Justin didn't actually get to wear his costume though because he had to come straight from work. He was in his dress clothes and if anyone asked who he was he told them he was the old, fat Peter Pan who couldn't fly.

Note to anyone who actually looks at this blog...

I don't consider myself a blogger. I am not very good at keeping up with it, so I am not going to try to catch up on the last year of our lives, but from here on out I will try to be better at updating. Don't hold your breath though.
