Catching Up
Whew! It's been a busy few weeks, so this post is going to be a kind of collage. At the beginning of the month we had our Christmas party at church. It's always been quite the extravaganza, and this year they served the whole ward tri-tip!! We never want to leave California!
The kids got to meet Santa in the Relief Society room, so now every time they walk by that room they squeal, "MOOOOM! That's the room where Santa was!!!!"
Scott finished with school yesterday, so he is officially on vacation (except for the whole studying for boards thing). So today we decided to do what Californians do and hit Disneyland. Well, we weren't the only ones with that idea, so we spent 1 1/2 hours driving there, only to find Disneyland absolutely packed. So, we rode 2 rides, and headed for another 1 1/2 hour drive home. (We only live 30 min. from Disneyland in normal traffic.) Not our smartest move ever, but the kids had fun.

A few weeks ago my sister Karly, husband Chevy, and daughter Cassidy paid us a visit from Idaho. It was really fun to see them, and I just had to include my favorite picture of Chevy. A little uncomfortable Chevy?!
So, to finish out this collage of a post, I thought I would share with you my Kohl's experience on Monday. I was running errands with Blake while Caden was at school and I decided to run into our local Kohl's really quickly to see if they had a light jacket for Blake. Well, the parking lot was pretty crowded for a Monday morning, but I just figured it was the Christmas rush. Anyway, I walked in, and there were a ton of camera people all around. I asked someone what was going on and they said Fergie was there. Well, I was in a hurry, so I snapped a picture of her along with the other hoards of people, and then I had to run. RANDOM!

Build-A-Bear
Caden & Blake's cousin Cierra had her birthday party last weekend. They started at Build-A-Bear and the boys were so excited to pick out their own bear, watch them stuff it, pick out clothes, name it, etc. Caden named his Fluffy, and Blake named his Don. Don't ask me, we don't even know any Dons. After creating their new best friends we went back to Cierra's house for bouncing in the huge bouncer and cake. It was the party every kid dreams of. Here are some pictures.

Caden and Blake have not let those bears out of their site for a week now.

Dancing With The Toddlers: Vote For Your Favorite
I was watching the results show of Dancing with the Stars. For those of you who don't know, on the results show, they usually have groups of professionals dancing to give the stars a break. Well, on Tuesday they had a group of break-dancers, and they were amazing. They inspired Caden and Blake, so we had a little dance competition of our own. No judges this time, you voters hold their fate in your hands. Who is your favorite?

Halloween
Caden & Blake have been so excited about Halloween this year. When we drive Caden to school, both kids glue their faces to the window and watch as we go by all the houses. They yell when they see something exciting, "I see a skeleton, look at that witch, look at the big spiderweb..." I thought it would end when Halloween was over and all the decoration were taken down, but now they look out the window and say, "Look at the house where the big spider was, look at the house that had the skeleton, look the witch is gone..."
Caden had a Halloween party at school. Here are some pictures.
I was helping out with the party, so Blake got to come too. With all that candy, he was in heaven.
Halloween was a multi-day event here. We had Caden's party at school, then the church Trunk-or-Treat, the the real Halloween. The kids were power rangers for the trunk or treat.
Since we had enough candy around the house from the Halloween party and Trunk-or-Treat, we decided to take the kids to Disneyland on the real day of Halloween. Blake is tall enough now to go on all the rides, so all four of us got to go together on Soarin', Tower of , Space Mountain, Star Tours, Big Thunder Mountain, etc. Blake liked most of them, but he was a little freaked out by Tower of . I wonder how he'll feel about elevators now.

It wouldn't have been Halloween at Disneyland without going into the Haunted Mansion.

We expect a Grammy nomination in the near future...
This is a song Caden learned in preschool and loves to sing all the time.
Spiderman
Last week I was sitting at the computer when I heard Blake yell, "MOM! LOOK!! You're gonna miss it!" I turn around and see my little spiderman has climbed up the wall. He was pretty proud of himself.
And, of course, when one brother is up to something, the other brother isn't far behind.
Just thought I'd throw in that we LOVE California weather!! It was mid 80's to low 90's last week.

The Pumpkin Patch
The next thing they saw was the bounce house which basically occupied them the rest of their time while we were there. Our friend caught a lot of really good pictures of them flying throught the air. These are just a few.

Feeling dizzy yet? When they weren't jumping in the bounce house, they were jumping off the hay to Scott. Are you noticing a theme? Crazy boys!

The Big 40
We took the boys to Evelyn's Birthday Bash on Saturday. They enjoyed discovering new foods like gourmet cheeses and hummus, but the cupcakes were their food of choice.
Brett came out from Vegas for the party, so the boys got to spend some time with their uncle. Evelyn and Brett came over for a short visit on Sunday. Brett played lots of rough boy games with them including pretending to be tigers. Blake asked Brett, "Have you ever been bitten by a real tiger?" To which Brett answered no. Blake continued, "Oh..that's lucky!" We all got a kick out of that. Watch our for those tigers Brett!
The boys made sure to have Aunt Evelyn read them The Lorax. I see now why Scott always had Evelyn read that story to him when he was little, she is definitely an animated storyteller.Saturday, October 6, 2007
Boy on a Bike
Hey Everyone,
I have finally succumbed to the peer pressure of the blogger community. I know... I know...
Joking aside, Scott and I are the proud parents of ...... a BIKE-RIDER!

I'll admit, when Scott decided to take the training wheels off Caden's bike I was skeptical. I just figured Scott was...well... CRAZY!! -- and the training wheels would be back on in a week.
I stand corrected.
On lesson #2 (yesterday) Caden began riding the bike all by himself. Today he came home with his first bike wounds, I'm sure many more will follow.

This video is lesson #3.
Anyone notice the graceful dismount?
