Sweet Baby Girl

Hello everyone!! These are quite overdue, but here are two of Jacey's 6 month photos!! The precious ladies who took them are amazing!! You should check them out at http://www.bellalaine-photography.com. Their work is great!! Thank you Jenifer & Beth!

Our Little Fightin' Texas Aggie!!

Here are some fun updates for our sweet Sugar Bear!
- She has one little tooth, on the bottom. She got it July 28th! The one next to it is soon to follow.
- She can push up to her hands and knees, but no crawling... yet! She can move backwards in her crib (we watch her on the video monitor).
- She is so funny. She laughs all the time!
- She love, love, loves her puppies!! Anytime they walk in the room she squeals at them. We've recently learned that she will get excited when she sees any pup! It's too funny!
- Her hair is starting to curl, and is very long at the crown. Some of that hair just never did fall out!
- She makes me the happiest Mama each and everyday! My heart overflows with love for her and her Daddy!
-Speaking of... She is quite the Daddy's girl! He is quite smitten with her, as well!
- We are so grateful for the chance to raise her everyday and pray for wisdom and guidance daily. God has truly blessed our little family!

First Bites of Cereal

Today our baby girl turned 6 months old. It's a major milestone because we gave her rice cereal, for the first time, for lunch and dinner. Jacey wasn't quite sure what to make of the cereal, but Jesse got some priceless pictures of her reactions. We'll try again tomorrow and hopefully she'll enjoy it more each day. We are very proud of our little girl and love her to pieces!

Her first bite.....

"Mommy and Daddy.... I don't know about this stuff"

Trying to decide if she likes it or not. She's wearing a bit of it on her chin.

Yes, she gagged a couple of times and Jesse just happened to catch it!

We hope you enjoyed seeing another growing day for Jacey. She went to the doctor for her six month appointment today and was 15 lbs 6 oz's (45%) and 26 3/4 inches tall (90%). She's taking after her Daddy's side of the family, long and lean! We're grateful for the chance to be her parents and love watching her grow!!

A Day at the Park

Today was our first family trip to the park! We love being outdoors but between the cold winter and the mighty West Texas winds we get, the day hadn't presented itself. Today is was just perfect so off to the park we went! Here are some pictures of our day! Jacey loved it! It was the first of many to come!

Hanging out in the grass with Mommy!
Such a happy baby girl! Her open mouth smiley face!
Flying with Daddy's help!
Tummy time gets so tough sometimes! Defeated and needing a quick rest!
Now she's back! She can sit up pretty tall!
Getting ready for a walk in the stroller!

Such a Cutie Pie!

Hey guys! In a perfect world, the pictures below would follow the text, but my sweet blogger doesn't want to seem to cooperate today. So, enjoy the pictures first and the have fun with the post that follows!!!

Hanging out with Aunt Izmo and standing on my soon to be cousin "Joey"
Cheering on the Aggies during March Madness!
Hanging out with my Daddy!
Such a big girl sitting in my Bumbo!
Our fun delivery from the Easter Bunny!

Hey guys!! We have lots to blog about, but I thought I would start with some new pictures of Jacey. They are from the last two weeks! She has really grown so much lately! She brings us endless joy and keeps us flexible!! Here are some fun new tricks!

1. She used to love to go to sleep..... as of the last week, nighttime is not her favorite for bedtime. So, our patience level has needed to increase but she still sleeps around 12 hours, so we're not complaining.
2. She can sit up with just one hand on her. It's so crazy since she was a jello body just a few months ago.
3. While holding her forearms, she can go from lying down to sitting and from sitting to standing. She does quite the "hula" dance when she standing but she can stand while you hold her hands.
4. She laughs a precious little laugh. She loves laughing at her Daddy!! And she absolutely loves the puppies!
5. She continues to roll from her stomach to her back.
6. She smiles and smiles and smiles!! I just love it!
7. She chews on everything- her hands, her burp rags, her toys, well... anything that gets to close to her mouth can fall prey to her "chompers".
8. She drools a good deal and blows spit bubbles. I know these are precursors to teeth but she doesn't have any right now.
9. She holds her head up really well.
10. She loves to "talk" especially if Mommy or Daddy are on the phone. It's as though she wants to join the conversation. Too funny!
Those are the few that come to mind. I will try my best to post pictures more regularly so ya'll can see her grow up right before your eyes! I will say that our lives are better because of her and she is such a perfect addition to our little family.

No More Bathtime Blues!!

From her first bath, Jacey has made it known that they weren't her favorite activity. As she got older, they were still not pleasurable and she had the ability to let us know....louder! Last week, a wonderful thing happened. I put her in the water and... she didn't cry. She didn't scream, cry, or holler. She actually made it through the entire bath without crying. This was a very big deal! About a month ago, my goal was to get her in and out of the bath as quick as possible. Watching her cry just about made me want to as well. Tonight was her 5th bath, in a row, not to cry. She actually splashes around a bit and seems to enjoy herself! I took some pictures for proof, for anyone who has been here to witness "bathtime". She's a cutie pie!! I'm so glad we kicked those bathtime blues!!

Look at this cutie patootie!! I just had to put it on here!!

Our Growing Girl!

While we were pregnant, everyone would always have two good bits of advice. 1) get as much sleep as you can, and 2) enjoy it because they grow up fast. I've already called bluff on the sleep thing, because I don't think anything prepares you for those first 6 or so weeks. Just in the last three or four days, the second is becoming so very true. Here are some fun things that Jacey has been doing.
1. Making more and more sounds. Each is precious and so sweet to hear.
2. She rolled from her belly to her back the other day. It wasn't the most graceful but she did it!
3. She can hold her neck up for a much longer time.
4. She will follow you, with her eyes, as you walk across the room.
5. She laughs and sticks her little tongue out. I love going to get her in the morning. When either Jesse or I walk in she gets so excited!
6. She was in newborn clothes and diapers last week. Then we noticed her newborn clothes were too short, and now she can only wear 0-3 months. Also, the phase 1 diapers were so big the two velcro closure tabs had to overlap each other. (this was probably on last Friday). Kid you not, on Monday I called Jesse in and the tabs don't overlap. Just like that!! Crazy!
7. She was laying in her crib just a bit ago and was grabbing her hair. Not too amazing, but she looked so grown up doing so and I hadn't seen her do it before.
I guess that's some that come to mind right now. One thing is for certain, we both love this little girl more than we could have imagined. She has truly changed our family dynamics, but definitely for the better! I feel blessed beyond anything I could have deserved and I thank my Jesus for her!
We did have some pictures done about 4 weeks ago! There are some good ones, so I thought I would share a couple! They were taken by Sara Bella Photography. (http://www.sarabellaphotography.com/)
I promise to be better at updating our blog! Our little precious girl will be 12 weeks next Tuesday! That's a great reason to blog!!
Lots of love, Jesse, Nea & Jacey!

Long Overdue Update

Ok, so most of you have already seen pictures on Facebook, text, e-mail, birth announcements, Christmas cards or just word of mouth, but Jacey was born a 4 weeks ago on December 1, 2009. She was perfectly healthy and even scored 9-9 on her APGARS for those of you you have had kids. Nea was unable to have the epidural that she has long planned on having because of a low blood platelet count. So, they gave her the first dose of labor-inducing meds about 7pm on Monday evening and she began having contractions almost immediately. 21 1/2 hours later, she gave birth to Jacey. She was (and still is) absolutely gorgeous!

In her first month, it has snowed 3 times in Weatherford, she has been to 5 family Christmas parties, been held by cousins as young as 2 years old, been to the ER at Cook Children's Hospital after vomiting 3 times in less than 24 hours (everything checked out fine!), watched as mommy opened more Christmas gifts than a newborn should ever get, and been photographed as she slept, pooped, ate, cried, and whatever else a newborn might look cute doing!

Nea and I are hanging in there. We say all the time that if she wasn't so stinking cute, we wouldn't be as inclined to do all we do for her every day! We are sleeping anywhere from 3-6 hours a night. She does the same I guess. We've been known to sleep through our alarms while she has gone without food and slept for as long as 7 1/2 hours one night. I'm able to feed her a bottle at least once a night (usually around 3 am) so that Nea can get a good 4-5 continuous house a night. We're a little sleepy most days, but still functioning just fine. Since I work from home most days, together we're able to keep up on our own personal hygiene as well as Jacey's and keep the house kept up and at least 1 meal a day on the table. I'd say we're doing pretty good to do that much! It's been very challenging at times, but rewarding and fun at the same times! So, someday maybe things will settled down and we'll get in a little better routine so that we can update the look of our blog and share more fun stories, videos, and pictures with you. Until then, Facebook is probably the best way to keep up with us and Jacey.
P.S. Sorry for the reverse order of this blog. It's been so long that I forgot what order I needed compose this blog.
