Valentines Day, Skiing, Moving and a Fire!

Well time just keep rolling by and im getting slower and slower at posting.

Here are a few things we have been up to.

First off Valentines day, I made heart shaped eggs, pankcakes and flower strawberries for us to eat. See picture if you want.

There was still snow and Makayla, Aden and Landon enjoyed jumping off the backyard fort into it.

Makayla has been in a couple more group and private skiing lessons and COP this year.

She’s been doing really well going all the way up the chair lift and skiing down the hill in a group and by herself with the private instructor.

We need to wok on her ability at getting herself up off the ground when she falls though. Jen was rather furious at one of the group instructors that ski’d all the way down to the bottom of the hill and left Makayla on the hill crying for about 10 minutes thinking she would just get up. Needless to say Jen is not more interested in all private 1 on 1 lessons and less interested in the group setting for MK.

She really likes skiing, and still isn’t a huge fan of cross country, but again this was her first year in cross country and her I think 3rd year skiing downhill.

Makayla is still enjoying Jazz and Ballet and is on a little break from Piano lessons as her teacher just had a baby. But her and Jen still practice the songs almost everyday.

Makayla is doing good in school, still struggling with her phonograms, she knows them visually, but has a hard time staying focus on the tests, but shes getting better.

As a reward we took Makayla and one of her friends to Chuck E Cheese this weekend, the reward was for her being able to count to 100 on her own which she had been struggling with but now has it all under control.

We also moved AGAIN last month into a smaller rental for the time being. We were able to stay in our Ward(congregation) which has been great.

We are mostly settled in now with only a few random boxes left to unpack in the basement.

1.5 weeks ago a house 6 houses over caught fire and Jen and MK took some pics of it. It was quite a blaze, but I don’t think anyone was home at the time, the house it pretty much toast and it did some damage to the 2 neighboring houses.

In other news work has been going good. Sales are increasing and we have decided to expand the printing company to add bigger presses and expand beyond just doing cheques.

We are currently looking for a new location as our current lease expires end of April.

Were going form 2000 sq ft to 6000-7500 depending on the layout.

Its pretty exciting to see this progressing.

Ive also been doing some advertising on google using adwords which has been interesting. I have it semi under control and I have had some sales come from it which is always good.

My ROI so far on google has been about 500%. If only I could increase the number of clicks somehow…. Gotta figure that one out still. But so far so good.

Jen recently went to see a Naturopath, so she is going to be trying out some different food choices to see if the help her with sleep issues and other stuff. He said no MILK, personally I couldn’t live without milk, but jen has been doing fine without meat and things that Tahini Sauce tastes good on its own(which it doesn’t) so I think shell be okay.

Anyways hope your all doing well.

Oh if you need our new address email me at pixar@shaw.ca

Later!

Fairmont, New Years & XC Skiing

Well seeing as how im on a roll I figured i might as well get all caught up properly.

So below are pictures from Our trip to the Fairmont Hotsprings Hotel, skiing, New years Eve and XC skiing this last weekend.

Fairmont was pretty nice, we stayed 3 nights and had full access to the huge hot springs, we spent lots of time in the pool.

We also went snow shoeing for 1 hour or so and on an animal tracks hunt. surprisingly we found, coyote, deer, mouse, squirel and some others.

Then we strapped on the skis and snowboard gear and went skiing for a day on the Mt Fairmont (i think thats the name) now jen and Mk they went right at it as they have there own gear, I had to rent snowboarding stuff which i havent done since i was 17 or so. But thankfully it all came right back, i wipped out on the first run but that was about it.

In addition to me relearning everything Makayla also got to experience a BLUE run.. the hill has 16 runs of which only 6 were open, and none of them green so we went right up to the top and had to go down BLUE, and let me tell you blue is steep!! She went with jen for some of it but wipped and and got a wee bit scared. So i carried by board and held her hand walking her back and forth as she tried to ski down it holding me. After we got past that crazy part things were better she regained her confidence and was able to do the rest of the hill herself.

It was pretty darn fun really, and now i actually want to go snow boarding again!

Then we came home and had new years eve at the folks house, the kids had fun, we had fun lots of games and food.

Then this last weekend jen has us all signed up for 6 weekends of XC skiing. we didnt realize how far away the 1st lesson was, 1.5 hr drive. So we jsut rented the gear and headed to my old junior high school field (FE osborne) and we XC ski'd for about 1.5 hours. Jen and MK had never done it before so it took some getting used to. But by the time we were done we were all doing pretty good and are now looking forward to next weeks group skiing in the mountains.

Well that pretty much brings us all the way up to speed.

Stay tuned for future posts!

Jon

September till Christmas

Alright,

So here are a bunch of pictures that get us from September to now.

In Sept we went to Spruce Meadows and watched some horse jumping, they also have free horse rides for kids! Its a pretty fun place to go.

Then in I think October Mike and Kim can ans stayed for a night before heading up north somewhere, it was great to see them as we havent seen them since their wedding.

Then we have Makayla picking some things out of the garden to take to school. And her and Aden jumping off the roof of the make shift fort i made out of extra deck and fence wood.

Then in november my youngest brother Patrick and his new wife Sarah got married in the Cardston Temple. It was a great weekend. The wedding reception was great, tonnes of good cheese and cheesecake and reuniting with old friends we rarely see.

Then the December Snow came and man it really stayed this time. It just barely started to melt this week.

Also in December Makayla's school had their Christmas performance which was great, she was able to sing some songs and recite some poems with her class.

Then there was Christmas, we spent tonnes of time with my family, ate way too much food, and got burried in wrapping paper!

We'll that is a very condensed version of September till now. Im sure im missing tonnes of things but i am just a man.

New Blog, New Year

Hey All,

We'll that last time we posted was back in September of 2009! Time since then sure has moved on by fast. Weve started a whole new year.

Some quick news about us:
Jen stopped working at Yoga Mandala to spend more time at home
Jen is taking the Yoga Teachers Training at Yoga Mandala which will be finished in Nov 2010.
Jon now works full time with Tom and Ryan at Cheques Direct
Makayla has been enjoying school, doing dance and piano.

As a side note, we took a little trip after christmas to Fairmont Hotsprings Resort, we stayed 3 nights and Jen and Makayla went skiing and I went snowboarding.
When we were there the hotel had a Smore'shoeing adventure, so we strapped on the snow shoes and hiked around and had hot chocolate and smores in a tipee later.
