Almost 5 Mo., That is just Crazy!

Yes, the title is correct! Can you believe, I sure can't! Despite the 2 mo. of being sick this pregnancy really is going quickly. I am starting to get that uneasy feeling of the house feels like it is constantly dirty, we don't have the nursery painted and lots more baby stuff to do. However, it is our goal that the beginning of the new year we are going to get started.

This past couple of weeks have been extrememly busy for me. Not only have I had holiday parties to go to, I was busy making 176 cookies for our Bridge Builders Cookie Swap. Yes, that is correct I made 176 Shortbread Sugar Cookie Sandwiches, this not including the tester cookies that I took to work. However, all this hard work paid off and I was givent he award of " Best Overall." Thank you Janna again, this recipe rocked!

We also had our monthly visit to the doctor. Most of you all know that these visit aren't to exciting like the ultrasound etc. However, we got to hear baby's heartbeat again and it was 150! I am so glad our baby has a good strong heartbeat. Dr. Tinker said everything is looking good blood pressure, placement of uterus etc., which makes me feel good that I am doing things right.

During Thanksgiving Kelby and I had some great pictures taken and I am going to try and post one if. It might be at the top or placed where I want it. I can never figure the picture thing out.

Hungry,Hungry Hippo

Well, we are now into our 2nd trimester as of Saturday. Yippee! The past couple of weeks my hunger has subsided but it came back with a venegence. Both Saturday and Sunday night I have woken up on numerous occasions dying of hunger. I think this baby is going to be a tubalicious, which is fine with me except for the birthing part! Yikes! No really I try to eat somewhat descent especially if I had a heavy lunch. I haven't weighed myself in awhile, not sure if I really want to. The pants are all snug so no more zipping or buttoning for me. I usually where a bella band with my skinny jeans. The belly has not yet poked out, I can't wait until it does. It pooches here and there usually at nights sometimes in the day. Well, this as about exciting this blog is going to get! I know sad!

Kelby and I head to Texas tomorrow night and I am so excited. We are having a friend Mallory take some good pictures of us on Friday. If you saw our engagment pictures they were pretty bad, but that was my fault. So I am looking forward to getting some nice pictures other than our wedding pictures. We also get to watch my brother-n-laws football team play in a playoff game and celebrate my nephews 7th birthday. I can't believe he is getting so big!

Baby Update

Okay, so if you get the baby's website your just going to get a double dose.

My doctor's appointment was yesterday. I was pretty disappointed especially after being there 2 hrs. Not much happened, other than the normal check up stuff. However, we did get to hear the baby's heartbeat which we love to hear. The heartbeat was 155, slower than last time but still good. Dr. Tinker (yes that is he's last name) said that everything is looking good. I really wanted an ultrasound but I guess beggers can't be choosers.

I am slowly growing a little belly, but it is not much. I have definitely grown in the bust area and Kelby and the people from work keep talking about them. Hey, they have feelings too!Ha! I am down to two pairs of jeans that I can wear without my Bella Band. However, I think I am about to be down to one, the others were a little tight yesterday. I have yet to buy any preggo pants because I don't it is necessary just yet. I am waiting until I get a little bigger in the belly, I am thinking another month.

My nerves are finally going away after this week and I think it finally hit that I am having a baby. Kelby and I have pretty much got an idea on the nursery. I can't wait to put it all together. I ordered our crib this week but it won't get here until March or April. We also decided on a stroller and carrier. I just am ready to buy a little outfit even though I don't know the sex and won't until May 25th. I love this baby so much and it hasn't even made it into the world. God is pretty amazing the way he works!

Update coming soon!

Hi everyone - Just letting you know that I didn't drop off the face of the earth. Just had some busy and tiring last weeks. We had a Halloween party on Sat. and I had Merry Marketplace all weekend too. I was extremely exhausted the night of the party, but I managed to stay up with everyone with a little crankiness!

I will post pictures later. I plan on doing my next post after my doctor's visit on Weds. I will be 12 weeks Saturday. I am one week away of being through my first queazy trimester.

Boring Friday's

Oh, my gosh let me just tell you that Friday's around the office are boring. Pretty much only three of us work while the others take it off. Must be nice right?! That is what I say, especially now that I am preggo and on top of that could use a good nap. So, I have pretty much done all the work I can possibly do on Friday and it only took me about 3 hrs to do it all. I guess you are wondering what I do with the rest of the 5hrs that I am here. Let me just tell you:

I have been looking for fabric for the nursery. I already have the crib picked out, not bought, but in waiting. No need to rush I have about 7 months to pull it together. Kelby and I decided last night on a fabric to use it is super cute and different.

I also check every piece of email, blog, and facebook info about four times. I mean why not?! What else am I going to do with my time?

Then I eat, quite a bit. Usually a banana or apple then later on some cheese nips. I love hot chocolate right now so I try to have a cup a day. It is especially nice since it is cool outside. Kelby calls me the eating machine lately, but when baby wants to eat I feed.

Hmmmm.....what else do I do! Oh, I start looking at maternity clothes even though I won't need them for awhile. I am not a big fan of most because they have those ties in the back. However, I have found some websites that have really cute tops. If not I will just buy cute tops that I like in a larger size. Who says you "have to" wear maternity clothes?

Oh, then I wonder around the store and cool off. It gets hot in my house in the afternoon.

Well, that is about how all Friday's go for me. I just looked at the clock and it just now turned 4, I swear it should have been 4 like 30 minutes ago. Okay, well I will leave you all be. Have a good weekend.

Ode to the Feelings....

So here we are 9 weeks 4 days preggo! I was talking to the people at work yesterday on how amazing it is at how soon your body changes. Pretty much from 4weeks on at least for me! Here are some things going on:

1. At 5 weeks I was still feeling pretty good, just hungry all the time. Can't drink lemonade, oj or milk doesn't sit well with the stomache
2. At 6 weeks I started feeling pretty queezy in the mornings and had to eat as soon as I woke up. Pretty much at 5:30 or 6. I am not an early riser, however, when there is a little person inside of you, you pretty much do what they want. Also, my first doctor's appointment where he confirmed that we were definitley preggo.
3. At 7 weeks queeziness is in full force as well as feeling like my food just sticks in the middle of my chest. Also, spicy food gives me reflux, yes it is such a wonderful feeling!
4. At 8 weeks another doctor's appointment. This time I got to see our little one (literally about the size of a pinto bean) and also here the heartbeat 174 really good. Also, I am also I few more days further along than thought. Queeziness is still there, my doctor also suggest I take Zantac so I can at least have some OJ. I have yet to get, but need to I would really love a glass of OJ
5. Here we are at 9 weeks and they weren't joking that sickness comes in full force. Prepare yourself: most of the time I just dry heave a little in the morning and I am done. However, this morning it was all throw up. This was a shock to me but I was glad to get it out. This just tells me that our little person is hanging in there. It really is bitter sweet!!

Okay moving on! So here and there I am a little bit moody. I am really trying not to be but sometimes I just have my days. Especially lately the days just seem to get longer and longer, ughhh....

Well, that is your inside view of what some pregnant woman go through. At least for the first 9 weeks. My next doctor's appointment is November 11th and I can't wait to go back.

Random Thoughts.....

1. Do people notice that their car is smoking like crazy? Talk about pollution! I saw this truck today smoking like crazy and making every car behind it inhaling the lovely fumes.

2. Kelby and I have yet to go back to P90X. We like good food too much, except Kelby is still running so it just falls off of him anyway.

3. Our dogs are stinky, I keep saying I am going to give them a bath.

4. I am taking the NCIDQ in Oct. Whenever I tell this to some people they answer with something smug like," so you have questions about paint colors?" Hate that question, I usually politely respond with it is way more detailed than that and is very hard too pass.

5. When am I ever going to have fully furnished house?!

6. Sunday, after tailgating we met this really nice guy, Eli. I was a little tipsy and decided to ask the guy which way he swayed so that I can maybe hook him with someone. Yep, I am a little brave after some beverages!

7. I am watching Greek right now, love it! oh and So You Think You Can Dance.

8. Kelby and I have now attended 3 meetings of PATH to fulfill our 10 weeks so that we may adopt.

9. I wish people were flies on the wall at my work. We have quite the funny/odd conversations.

10. I think it is true that you start losing a bit when you get older. Definitely at work! I feel like my mom more and more, "love ya mean it."

11. I joined Jr. League this year and have yet to make an appearance at meetings. I have a valid excuse.

12. Tomatoes with mozarella, my new favorite thing to eat.

More to follow I having brain farts!

Viva La Mexico

Corey, Nadine, and I at the Disco Galaxy. Yep,
that is a Star Trooper that we are posing with.

Great pic of Kelby and Craig

So this swan was pretty but I tried to pet it
and it tried to bite me. It actually bit Kelby's
shoe. I think it was hungry!!

Corey and I taking an awful lemon drop!

Chad, Chris, and Kelby and the basketball that
they used all week long.

Hola - Mi amigos! Just dropping in pics from our last trip to Playa Del Carmen. We went for Craig and Nadine's wedding. Like most of Kelby's friends that went we decided to make a nice weeks vacation out of it. We had a blast getting to visit everyone, enjoying the beach, making new friends and memories.

What's been going on.....

Well, it is 11:00 at night and I am just now getting to my blog. Right now I am watching "Unwrapped," which I am probably going to switch to "Sex in the City." Kelby is out of town for work, he is actually back in New York, I am jealous. So it is just me and my girls! So here's what's going on these days:

Kelby and I are still rockin' the P90x. It definitely kicked my butt today. We have been doing somewhat good on the diet part, weekends are our weakness even though we try not to splurge.

Last Thursday we celebrated our 4th anniversary. I can't believe how time flies, you could say I am a pretty lucky gal. He is definitely my best friend and great helper around the house.

Adoption: We have officially picked an agency. Well will be as of Monday when we turn in our first part of paperwork. It is a christian based agency called AGAPE, and they were the most informative and also have a short list of infant adopting families. This is a major plus seeing how most of the waits with others was 2-4 years. As part of there paperwork we needed to get a preacher and church leader to be references. Kelby and I have been attending Highland Church of Christ for a little over a year but have yet to place membership. Well, we are now going to become part of the church. We have a meeting this Sunday with the elders and Kelby and our preacher Chris have been talking. So we are on our way. Kelby and I will be adopting domestically and gender and race is not an issue which can also speed up the process for us. Please keep your fingers cross and send up a lot of prayers. We have a long road ahead but we will get there.

Last weekend I traveled to McKinney for a quick trip and do I mean "quick." My youngest nephew Trey turned 2. He had a great birthday with family and friends. It was good getting to see my niece and nephews it had been since March since I saw them. Oh, and also my sister, mom and brother -n-law.

On Tuesday, we leave for Mexico and get there at noon. I absolutely can't wait, I just hope it is not raining. Supposedly my phone is saying they are having rain all this week. So the whole purpose of going is for Craig & Nadine's wedding which is that Saturday. It will be lots of fun and we will get to see alot of friends while down there.

Tomorrow, I am super excited to finally get our patio ceiling back up. Explanation: We are planning sometime to repaint the trim, windows, and doors on the outside of our home. Kelby and I started this ourself but scraping paint but it was a slow process and I got my job. Yep, that tells you how long its been!! So anywho we tore down the pation ceiling because it needed repair and finally it is getting put up. Yay!!

Well, that is about all that is going on. I will try and post some pictures of Trey's birthday before we head to Mexico.

Where have the months gone....

Okay, I don't know how these pictures are going to post but just work with me. In May my best friend from college,Jamie came to visit with her little boy Brody. It was my first time seeing Brody and he was absolutely adorable. I can't wait to go see them in the fall. In June for my birthday present Kelby got me a trip to New York. This picture is of Kelby in front of the Stock Exchange. We had a wonderful time visiting family up there. I loved, loved, loved it! Can't wait to go back! The next couple of picks were in June too, but I say July because it was Kelby's surprise 30th. I had everyone dress up in their best 70's get up. First we went to the Fox and Hound to have drinks, food, and of course a Muddy's Prozac cake, yummy! Then at midnight we went to the bowling to show off our mad skills. Unfortunately Kelby and I had a little too much fun a the Fox, that our bowling skills were terrible. But we sure danced the night away to alot of Michael Jackson!!! Okay the real July which I don't have pictures of we went to the lake with our neighbors and a couple of other friends. I had so much fun, it has been way to long since I have been on a lake. The next weekend was our friends Courtney and Gaines wedding. Again I don't have pictures, only one on my phone. It was a really pretty wedding and after the reception we all head to where else but Raiford's for a little dancing.
What's going on now? Well, we think we have picked our adoption agency. There are a few questions to be asked but other than that....I really hope they are the one. It seems like God has just pushed us towards them. Please keep us in your prayers if all goes well in about 6 months we will be approved to adopt. Pray for us getting more involved in our church, all forms to be excepted, approval and our future birth mom. I pray every night that God points us to the agency and that a birth mom will pick us. I am excited and nervous all in one and we have yet to even start the real part of adoption.
What else is going on? Kelby and I went to see the Rocketboys, great band, they went to ACU or least most of them. Look them up! I am about to finally have business cards, my sweet cousin-n-law Ryan (graphic artist) designed them for me. I love them and can't wait to see them printed. He even made a gmail account for future clients: hayleydavisinteriors@gmail.com What a wonderful cousin. Kelby is running in a Road Race Series, he runs a couple of 5ks here, a 10k there and finally in Dec. St. Jude's Marathon. I am so proud of him! We both have jumped on the P90x wagon (have to look buff for Mexico in 3 weeks). I love the excercises so far, but yoga is hard! The nutrientional part is killing us but we are doing it with slight modifications on the weekends.
Well, that is it so far. We leave for Mexico, Aug. 18th and I can't wait. It is raining like crazy here in Memphis. In fact our backyard is literally flooding it has rained non stop all week and has been pouring for the last 4 hrs. I hope everyone is doing well, have a wonderful rest of the week.

New York

Well, here are some pictures finally. The first day we were there we hit the ground running. We hit Central Park, Times Square, Rockafeller center, and the top of the Empire State building. I loved where Cassie and Ryan, our cousins lived they had a great place in Upper East Manhattan. They were close to it seemed everything. They lived about 5-6 blocks from Central Park, which is the picture where Kelby and I are in front of the pond. And just a few more blocks down was the Guggenheim museum.
We took the subway to most placese which were fun. I took a picture of the wall down by the subway train. I just loved the subway, don't ask me why but I thought it was great. It probably wouldn't have been if we didn't have Ryan and Cassie guiding us.
So the second day we went down to China Town, dowtown by the New York Stock Exchange, and walked up and down Soho during the day. That night we went to Brooklyn to hear one of there friends play at this cool little bar called Sycamore. Sunday, we went to the Guggenheim which had a large exhibit of Frank Lloyd Wright, which I am a huge fan of his work. If you don't know who he was, he was an amazing architect who was way before his time. My favorites are Falling Water and the Robi house. Any whoo, we had a blast and will post a few more pictures.

Pictures are Coming Soon

I know, I know I am a little behind. But I will have pictures of New York and of Kelby's 30th to post, so there will probably be two post. Sorry for the overload.

Farewell Knaknook

This is Knaknook ( I hope I spelled this right.) Our great neighbors across the streets Akeita he passed away on Sunday morning. He was the sweetest dog! He was big an furry and fun to cuddle with. I called him bear because his face reminded me of one. He was calm and hung out with us many times playing Rock Band. My heart goes out to Adam and Kim in the loss of such a wonderful dog. He will missed very much!!

Promises...

Okay, I know it has been a very long time or it seems like it since I've posted. I tried one night and got very frustrated when I was posting pictures of my friend Jamie and her baby boys visit. So, Kelby and I are leaving for New York here in a few days and I promise when I get back I will post. There has been too much exciting things going on, so not much to post on. So see ya in a week..

Surprise, Surprise!!

My first and probably last surprise birthday party. My sweet husband threw me a surpise party and these were the cute little invites that he sent out. He had the entire night planned:
1st - This is where I was surprised, supposedly he and the guys were going to play poker. So I planned on having a night out with the girls, thank goodness I decided to look cute!!! So we get to Old Venice an Italian restraunt, where Kim & Mindy had to guide me to the right room. I was all about going to the patio! So we ate dinner and had cake with some of our friends then we moved on.
2nd - We went to our favorite place to Karaoke. I think Kelby and I probably enjoyed this more than some, so sorry guys if Karaoke isn't your thing. This is Elvis the 2nd, who of course sang all Elvis song. I decided that we should break it down, so I danced with Elvis. He was really sweet but I think a little wrong in the head, not to be mean, he was just crazy!

This is me singing, I don't know if I sang good or not! I use to be a really good singer but I am not sure anymore, hey all my friends clapped hmmmm......

Russell, Karen and I we missed you Jeniffer!! Scottie was there too, but he didn't make it in this picture.
So Paula & Raiford's was our last stop for the night. I think I have talked about Raiford's except this was the new one and I enjoyed it alot more than the old one. We partied like "rock stars" and I had a blast, probably too much fun but HEY YOU ONLY TURN 30 ONCE, Yikes! Now my actual birthday is until May 26th, but this was a better night for friends to make it out.

Surprise Birthday 2

Neighbors Adam & Kim and Mindy & Greg @
Yosemite's Karaoke.
Karen & I at Paula and Raiford's

Husband & Wife Pic, wife is getting tired.

Quick Stop!

Just making a quick stop in to say....that I got approved to take my NCIDQ examination in fall. It is not the most exciting thing since I am going to have to study my butt off. Hopefully though I will pass the test so I can officially call myself an "interior designer."

My Sweet Girls.....or Should I say Dogs?!

Poppy the youngster, she was
being a little shy from the camera.
Scout our oldest, loves to pose, if you can't tell!

Poppy in the mood to take pics, she
personally likes the close ups.

I love that Scout is tilting her head.
Okay, so since Kelby and I have no children our dogs are our "Girls." Most of the time we call Poppy "big girl" and Scout "little girl." I was just outside one day and decided to bring my camera out since it was a great sunny day, no rain in sight. So I just started snapping away, Scout was the most cooperative, Poppy mainly wanted to run back and forth the fence line to talk to her friends. So I had to be fair and post the same amount of pictures of my girls, so I had to take another pic of Poppy in the house.

What I am doing...

Okay so right now I am outside wondering if it is going to rain. They have said it was to rain this whole week, well all I have see is sprinkles. So I decided to use the supposed upcoming rain as my excuse to not go running, but now I am feeling guilty. I have to get this body in shape for Mexico in August. Any whoo, so right now I am watching my dogs enjoy the nice weather, inhaling a citronella candle because of the mesquitos and sipping on peach vodka with sprite. By the way the drink is delicious, it's really nice for this spring and upcoming summer weather.

As of now my lab, Poppy, is barking it at me for some reason. Probably because her dad just got home, as she storms through our back door. Any whoo, that is what I am doing right now. Kelby is home now so I guess I better go cook us some dinner!

Thanks to You...

This is to all of you whom Kelby and I are so thankful to call you friends. Everyone has been super supportive and interested of I and Kelby's efforts to conceive. From all the emails, phone calls, cards and prayers thanks to all of you.

Kelby and I can't wait to start the adoption process and would love everyone to continue your prayers. They do help, I promise even though we have no child to hold. But hopefully with your continueing prayers Kelby and I will have a family of our own. We love each and everyone of ya!

ps. I have to cutest pictures of our daughters (aka doggers) Poppy and Scout. I will have to post them!

Stick a Fork in Us Were Done

Well, it is official the IUI didn't take. Since this is a month to month occurrence it doesn't really bother Kelby and I that much any more. Sure we are a little disappointed but life happens and we have to roll on.

So last night after we attended a Robert Earl Keen concert, Kelby and I discussed our future as far as children. As many of you know Kelby and I have been very open to adoption, however we hoped that we would be able to have one on our own. What you don't know is that before Kelby and I were married, engaged, and really barely dating this was a topic of discussion.

Now back in college when Kelby and I were dating we had many mature conversations. One topic being how many children we want, were we open about adoption etc. I had told Kelby that I had a feeling that it would be especially hard for me to get pregnant. My reason being that my mom had a hard time getting preg and miscarried 3 times. So then we discussed adoption and we were both on the same page.

So back to our discussion in the car ride home from the concert. Kelby and I have both for awhile since we starting trying that God was trying to tell us that we need to adopt. It is weird to have that feeling but I didn't quite want to believe just yet and neither did he. So that is why we tried fertility treatments. I will say we really haven't given much of shot since we will no longer be taking them. But really how much affirmation do you need! We were just meant to be adoptive parents and who knows maybe some day down the road we will get miraculously preg.

One Full Week

At first this week started out kind of like a normal week. I go to my little job for a couple of hours of work and then usually come home feed the dogs and clean etc. So I am at the job and not too long after I get there I get a phone call from a company that I gave my resume. Now mind you that I gave my resume about a month and half ago to them, so now I have an interview tomorrow. So that is just the start of my busy week.

Kelby left already traveling with his job. So tomorrow I go to work early, have an interview @ 10, get the dogs off to the kennel, and finish packing for my trip. Where is she going you might ask? Well, I am off to Nashville to visit my cousin and her new baby Harrison. On Thurs. I am going to fly out to San Antonio for Cassidi's bachelorette party. I am very excited for all of these things but can only imagine how tired I will be when I get home.

Second Time, Hopefully a Charm!

Today was the day we had our second IUI. We will track back from my last blog. On Sunday morning I went in for our second ultrasound and bloodwork. The nurse told me that it looked like I was ready for the Ovidrel shot, however, I had to wait until my bloodwork came in and had consent from my doctor. About Sunday afternoon I got specific directions on what will be our next step. At 10:00pm I took my Ovidrel shot to release my follicles. Next would be our IUI which has to be done within the next 36 hrs. So we were schedule to go in at 9:00am on Tues.

Now we are back to today. Kelby and I went in for our scheduled IUI. Kelby was first to go, so he could release the boys. After he did his work he had to go back to do some work before he left for St. Louis. I had to wait about an hour so in the meantime I went and enjoyed some breakfast at Chick-fil-a. I think I enjoyed my lemonade to much because right when I got back to the office I had to go to the restroom. I am probably feeding you to much information. Not too much longer they called me back to do the IUI.

All the nurses there are really nice but I had extremely nice/good nurse. I think she did a great job personally. Last time I felt a little cramping but not this time, I was relieved because I think that is the worst part. Any whoo, she was very informative which the usually are and have to be. Everything looked good both for Kelby's boys and my follicles. In fact she told me I had three good follicles, "what?" By the way when I first walked in the nurse said "Just a reminder that there is a chance of multiples when you take the shots." So now all that is going through my mind is 6 little Davis'. However, before she left I said I hope that we don't have 6 that is my husbands worst nightmare. She told me the percentage is very low for that to happen. But watch it will probably happent to me.

So keep up the prayers, I am feeling good about this but trying not to get my hopes to high.

3 More Shots and Some Good Eggs

I woke up @ 6:00 to go to my 7:30 appointment. I didn't enjoy this at all because I am not a morning person, but I move pretty quickly once I pull myself out of bed. So once I finished getting ready I grab granola bar and orange juice and out the door I went. I decided to eat breakfast because I figured I would need it since I was going to be getting my blood drawn. Just being smart!

So today they were taking blood work and then I would have an ultrasound. When I arrived to the doctors office I was a little thrown back when they asked for payment. Now usually I am aware of payment but not today. The last IUI we had in November I didn't recall paying for an ultrasound or any of my blood work. So being a good wife, I questioned the clerk on why I would be paying for these and that I thought our insurance at least covered the ultrasound. Well, she wasn't that helpful and said I had to talk to the other clerk. The other clerk hadn't made it there so I just had to take a gulp and pay. Don't get me wrong it really wasn't that big of payment but we have already paid quite a bit just for the shots I have to take. Ok so I will move on because I know this really isn't that interesting.

So I get my blood taken by a jiven nurse. Yes, I said jiven! She was super excited that they were playing some upbeat music. I don't blame her, her office is tiny and full of blood viles. Music always makes the day go by and a boring office space seem better. After she draws my blood, I moved onward to my ultrasound. I will spare you the graphic details, it's not your normal ultrasound. Any whoo, this ultrasound shows if the medicine is working and that I maturing good large eggs. The cool thing is I get to see it too! I don't know what the average egg size is but I thought they were rather large. The nurse said they looked good and she wouldn't be suprised if she saw us again this weekend. So I am thinking,"Oh, good I will take my last shot to release the eggs and will have an IUI." Wrong Hayley! I have to take two more shots of the Repronex tonight and tomorrow night. Then Sunday morning I go to have another ultrasound. I wasn't to thrilled and I new Kelby wouldn't be either because that is just more money. And who works on Sunday, that is God's day a day of rest. I just feel sorry for the nurses.

Keep praying, we are almost to the real exciting and nervous part.

Shots

QUICK UPDATE! We started my pills this past Thurs. and then on Sunday we started the shots. I take the shots days 5,7, and 9. Well, I found out that quick and fast is the way to go. It definitely didn't hurt as bad as my trial run. So tonight is night 7 so I will take another. At first I really didn't notice the side effects. I just had some tenderness where I did the shot and then a little redness, which is normal. However, today I noticed that I get hot really quick and I got a headache, again these are just side effects. I have yet to have any moodiness but I think that comes with my last shot I take. Except I do think I got moody with Scout, our dog, she was being rather annoying the other day. I was trying to take a nap and she kept barking and scratching at the door, finally I had enough and put her in the kennel. Poppy was perfect!

So, tonight I will finish my pills and take a shot. Then I take one more shot on Thursday and on Friday I go have blood work and an ultrasound. If my eggs look awesome then I will take my last shot, if not I take 2 more of the other shot.

Let the Shots Begin!

Yes, you heard it! We are giving the hormones shots a try. Last Friday Kelby and I went to the dr.'s office so that she good go over the info. that we went over in Dec. So, once Kelby heard what exactly the Repronex and Ovidrel do and that it was understand that multiples are highly unlikely, it was a go. The Repronex is was will help me produce good healthy eggs which I pretty much do already, but it produces a better selection. So first I start my Letrozole then on day 5 I take my first shot and after three days I go in for an Ultrasound and blood work. If everything is a go then I take my Ovidrel shot which will release the eggs and then within 36 hrs we will have an IUI. So now you know how it works.

Well, Kelby and I had to take a shot class on Mon., which cost 40.00 and lasted maybe 8 minutes,no joke. Well, let me just tell you that I am not fond of getting shots. I used to take shots every week when I was young for alergies. I wish I had those nurses to do this everyday for me. So I rub the alcohol in a spot on my tummy and shoot some water out of the syringe and into my tummy. I went slow because first of all I am not sure of myself but that wasn't the best thing to do. OUCH! It definitely didn't feel good! It kind of felt like I had just gotten stung by a bee and lasted for about 3 - 5min. I decided maybe a faster approach would be best for me. The nurse told me that since the medicine is actually more CC's that I might feel a little more discomfort. Great just what I wanted! SometimesI begin to question why i am doing this not really !hopefully a little bundle of joy will come out of all this pain. So cross your fingers and say lots of prayers.

A New Angel

For anyone who read my last blog I wanted to update on baby Brinlee. She had suffered from ceasars which caused brain damage everytime she would have one. She was put on life support but her family had the hard decision to keep her on it. Basically Brinlee would never be able to be able to enjoy life. She was baptised on Friday and then April and Bobby decided to take her of life support. They were able to take her home where she later passed away on Sat. around 3:30. Please pray for April, Bobby and Big Sis Avery and their families.

I know for the little time that Brinlee was on earth she touched many lives. Even though I didn't get to meet her but only through pictures, she touched me.

Pray for Brinlee

Hello all who read, lately I feel like the bearer of bad news but I just have some people that need a lot of praying. This time it is for some friends of mine from high school. My friend Kelly from Odessa just informed me today with this news. They just moved back to Texas about a month before April was due to give birth to their second daughter. On March 13th April gave birth to Brinlee @ College Station and things just didn't seem right. Brinlee didn't cry when she was born and didn't seem to respond to any pricks in her foot. Kelly said that she just had no response and was very lathargic. They rushed Brinlee to Houston's Childrens hospital and the dr.'s just haven't had any positive news since she has been born. Right now she is on life support hanging on for dear life. My wish is that I can get everyone who reads this blog to pray for Brinlee to make a mircaulous recovery and to give April and Bobby as well as their families the strength.

Right Here, Right Now

First off it is 7:45 here, I just got through working out and Kelby is finishing up his run with the dogs. I don't what their problem is tonight but they are extra hyper. Whoever has met my dogs know's that this doesn't come as a big surprise. Except tonight they are driving me crazy! What I am cooking? Spagetti or Scabetti that is what I called it when I was young. I am also listening to house a alarm go off, yep that is always nice to here in your neighborhood. Especially when you live in a city with one of the highest crime rates in the US. No worries though my neighbor is a cop and my dogs or psyco so nobody is getting into my house without a fight. Well, I hope everyone is doing well and thank you for reading my randomness!

Oh, please keep in your prayers a my friend Hilary who just lost her mother.

Really Don't Know What Just Happened.....

Okay, I am super frustrated with this stupid blog. I was just trying to change my font and all of a sudden my complete post disappeared and it was pretty good. So, here is try number 2! Okay let's start with the bottom and go to the top. These are pictures of Bill and Toddi's longhorns, during the holiday season they had a new calf. Isn't she cute! The rest of the pictures are of us feeding the longhorns and them eating the food.
**Baby Stuff** Nope, no news really. Kelby and I are just trying to figure out exactly what we are wanting to do. Adoption is definitely an option and we are doing our research, we have yet to start any paperwork. We are also still considering taking the hormone shots. In fact I made a Dr.'s appointment for us to go talk with her again about the information. Kelby wasn't there for my appointment in Dec. and I didn't really relay all the medical information very well. Too much! So next week we are going to talk with her again. She said since we have been taking Letrozole almost a year that alone by itself will not do the trick.
Okay, so I officially became unemployed close to the end of Feb. Don't worry I didnt' get fired we just didn't have the business coming and she couldn't afford 2 assistants. So what do I do with my time? Well, I am doing some part time work in the same bldg. but for another designer. It's not much but it is something. Plus I have all these wonderful ideas, Kelby laughs at me because I have a new idea almost every week. However, none of them are too out reach. Here are some of my ideas:
1. Get Licensed as an Interior Designer. Officially you are not able to call yourself a designer until you take this test. Kind of like a Dr. taking the MCAT or Lawyer taking the LSAT. This was a definite "to do" for Kelby and I since it will give me more credibility and I hopefully can gain clients and start a business.
2. Making Custom Baby Bedding. I got a little side tracked with this last year with my jobs. I got way too tired to sew baby bedding. So I am back and have a couple of clients lined up, or I hope so!
3. Write a Book. Yep, that is right! I have even started it but it will take awhile to finish. I am not really good a writing but I figured if it is a hit I will leave it to the editors or Kelby. It is about Kelby and I and our frustrations with unexplained infertilty. I thought this would make a good book for all those out there like us. Hopefully it will add some comic relief for them. Of course the book won't be finished until Kelby and I have a family to end it with.

It's Been Awhile...

Anybody Looking for Custom Baby Bedding

Hey there, I just wanted to put this out there. Baby bedding and mommy things are a passion of mine. In fact in the near future I hope to own my own store that offers custom nurseries and motherhood things. Right now for a little side job I would love to make design/make custom baby bedding. I sew myself a few things but will trust a wonderful semstress that we use for jobs to do the entire job. I have a great connection to many wonderful fabrics ranging from prices of 10/yd to higher end. Please give me a shout if you want absolutely awesome custom bedding. Oh, and please spread the word you can give them my email address to get a hold of me.
I only have pictures of my first work and will have to find them to post. It was for my dear friend Jamie Green who wanted a sports theme. I kept it very simple and not too busy, the bumper was white pique' with baseball stitching so it would look like a baseball bumper. The skirt was a navy and cream herringbone with center pleat and red button. I will try to get my pictures of it up! Again please pass the word!

Yes, I am Alive!

Hey There! Well I don't have much going on lately. Kelby and I have been doing some research on adoption. We haven't done any more fertility treatments. We just needed a break and right now just enjoying ourselves.

This past week I went to Nashville to visit my cousin and attend her baby shower. We had a really good time, everytime we get together we reminense ( I don't think I spelled that correctly) on the good old days. She is having a baby boy, Harrison Michael due in March. I can not wait to meet him. Kelby just hung out here in Memphis, showers are just not his thing. Ha! He and our neighbor attended a Memphis basketball game and then later that night played guitar hero. That is usually what we do with our neighbors, they are really getting good. I am little rusty but still can play on medium.

Super Bowl Sunday, our neighbors friends had a party. I was driving in from Nashville so I just met everyone out there. The boys all played a poker game, and Kelby wound up winning. We all got a little tipsy and then played of course guitar hero.

Really Behind, Update on Baby Making

So, I stink at getting pictures out from Christmas and New Years. We had a great time in Texas and enjoyed seeing everyone. I have some great pictures of the Beazley Long Horns again this year so I want to try and post those sometime. For New Years our newlywed neighbors invited us to dinner and then to play Rock Band at their house directly across the street. We had a good time and went to bed around 3:00. I told Kelby and I wasn't feeling good. And NO it wasn't because of alcohol it was because I was coming down with some kind of illness with a cough that lingered for 2 weeks.

Baby Making -Awe Natural, kind of! well we haven't done any other treatments since the IUI. I am still taking the Letrozole and was suppose to start hormone shots in January and have another IUI. However, we put a hold on ordering the shots because they are not cheap and we are recovering from the holidays. Plus, I needed to check into them more to see if our insurance would cover any of the meds. Also, we discussed alot over the holidays about adopting a baby, which again cost quite a bit and we will need to start the paperwork.

Well, I did find out that our insurance will cover some but we have to have our doctors authorize the other two. In total there are 3 things plus the Letrozole to take which is already covered.

Overall we are still looking into other fertitlity treatments while starting the adoption process. However, I have to light a fire under Kelby's butt so we can start the adoption paperwork. Maybe any and all who read this will help me out!!!!

Okay I am a Little Behind... So here it is

This is Aspen @ 7:00 in the morning! Time to
go to work!
This female mule deer was just hanging outside
of our kitchen window in Basalt, CO. She was
very nice to pose for my picture.

Here is the house that we actually decorated.
They were awesome very rustic with a modern
twist.
These are the mountains that it sat between.
Amazing views, horses on the hills, and rams.
The Frying Pan River runs right below the house
I have a picture, but just didn't add it!
Finally, this is a picture of my feet buried in snow.
2 major snow storms came in that week. It was fun
for that week but not so much when your trying to
fly home.
Okay, so here is the story of Aspen. If you know me pretty well you know that I don't have the best of luck! So, as part of my job I got to travel to Aspen to decorate a house. The house itself was not in Aspen and we only stayed there for 3 days. The house was in Basalt which is about 30 min. away. So we stayed mostly in the second house that our customers parents had built. The decorating went wonderfully but there were oops here and there not with the decorating aspect. So, on Sunday we didn't have much to do because we had to wait for more furniture to arrive the following week. So we decided it would be fun to have mimosas. We had seen a bottle of Champagne in our fridge back at the ADU, so our boss went to go grab it and some snacks. Well, first of all the cork on the champagne broke and showing that this bottle was very aged. So we finally figured a way to get the champagne took a sip and almost spit it out. We drink all the champagne.
The next day it was back to work. Everything was going well, except for that evening. The owner who has not come to the house because he is so frustrated called his wife who was there. They get in this discussion and Andee(owner) seems pretty upset. Well come to find out Macky(owner) was very upset because we drank his 1980 bottle of champagne. Yep, he had been saving it for when they stay in the house the first night. OOPs, he told us we could drink whatever we wanted!!!! So this is just the beginning of my bad kharma.
After we finished the house we stayed in Aspen the last night or so we thought. Again, another snow storm hit so our flight got cancelled, so they could let the others who were cancelled on our flights. So, the next morning we wake up to see if we are going to be flying out, nope cancelled again! Now, most people would see this as an opportunity to stay in Aspen a little longer. However, when you have worked all week with the same people, and drama for your momma over a boy, then yea you might want to leave. Finally Sunday is beautiful and we are able to leave of course we get there and our flight was delayed! Little did we know it would be for 5hrs. in this tiny little airport with tons a people. It was kind of like the game sardines, except not as fun! Any whoo, to explain the 5hrs. ... first a private plane gets a flat tire on the only run way. This took 2hrs, so while that happened our plane had to land somewhere else to gas up. While going down to get gas they hit a flock of birds. Yep, it just kept getting better. So we finally at 6:30 get to bored our plane and now everyone is worried they are going to miss there connecting flight. So we land in chicago and see that our flight was delayed. Awesome, good news! However, we taxi for an 1hr before pulling into the terminal. If you have flown to Chicago you know the airport is huge. Well, of course our flight is across the entire airport. So we run as fast as we can. WE get to bored the plane then we sit for another 1hr waiting on the gas truck. Finally @ 2 am we made it home!! Word to the wise don't ever fly UNited! Overall, besides the mess of trying to get home I got to visit with my friend Gina and Aspen.
