Ok, so I did a whole page, and then lost it, I hate when that happens.
We have had quite a time here in Minnesota. Thankfully our bus stop is right in front of our house. Because it is so cold here, that we can watch for our bus through our back door, and they start running to the corner. The bus gets there right when they do. Which is nice.
I understand that it is colder and snowey er than they have had it here in a long time. yesterday we had a blizzard of sorts. We went out and cleared our driveway about three times, just so that when it did stop snowing, it wouldn't be sooo tall and unmanageable. Luckly we also just purchased a snowblower. . . . I can not tell you how great an invention that is! It blows snow so much faster than we can shovel. It would have taken us hours with our snow shovels what a snowblower can do in 10 minutes.
Our church was canceled today, because the snow got so bad, they called back the snow plows and had them only doing the critical, and major roads. So, the back road we take to church would have been a nightmare. Especially with our back wheel drive one ton van. That would have been fun.
It has been a while since I have written. We had a wonderful thanksgiving. We flew Brandon's sister Kristy in from provo Utah where she is attending BYU. We haven't seen her in a year and a half, so we thought we had better see her. It was so much fun! The whole family went to a Timberwolves game, we played games, watched movies, went on a special date with just Brandon, Kristy and I. We Went to Mall of America on Black Friday. . . Crazy!!! Yea, tell me about it!
This year for Thanksgiving, some friends invited us along with three other families over to celebrate. It was fun, crazy, nice, ! There were about 35 people there, kids included. We had a good time. The best thing though, was the variety of foods that everyone brought. I don't think I have been sooo stuffed in a long time. My belly was bulging from so much good food~
Then we had the snow, and more snow and more snow. If you look in some of the pictures, the snow goes up to my chest in some area's and to my thigh in others, and it is only the beginning of December. We still have Jan. and Feb to go through before they say it starts getting better. The natives tell me that there are a few weeks each year were it gets to be about -20 where it is just miserable and the babies cry going from the car to the store because it is so cold. Their poor little fingers freeze. I may just have to put my babies in snow pants wherever we go for those few weeks. Just so we don't freeze to death.
After this, I can see how everyone would really enjoy the summers.
Just before Thanksgiving, I cut my hair !! I know, I hate it. It is very short, and I donated 11 inches to locks of love. The girl that cut it, gave me a rock star type hairstyle that I don't like a bit. . . So I am suffering through growing it out again. Brandon warned me that I wouldn't like it. That I never do when I cut it, but I did it anyway, and he is just too kind to say I told you so. He still loves me thank goodness.

New home in Minnesota
Ok, Ok, everyone has been telling me that they keep checking the blog for photo's of our new house. Well, here they are!

Our new house, and Lanae just turned 11 yesterday. I went into her class today and brought strawberries, apples and banana's for the kids to dip in chocolate. We also put chocolate frosting on some graham crackers for them. I was glad to be able to go into her class and see all the kids she associates with everyday. She was excited to show me her locker and where she sits. I hope she felt special. We just had a family whoopdi doo last night, because after all, it was a school night. So, in two saturdays we will have a party with all of her new friends. Fun times.

crazy times
This has been the most crazy summer. We left Virginia the middle on June, on the kids last day of school . For most of the time I had access to a computer or to some wireless internet for my laptop, but for the past month,no, longer, it has been sparce to have a computer available.
The last of July we were in Junction Utah where there was one stop light and one general store. If we parked in the parking lot of the store we had internet on our wireless computers, and our cell phones would get reception, otherwise, we were kind of stuck.
Then we were in a rental home for the first two weeks of being here in Minnesota with no access, and then we just got it hooked up in our new home, because of some mix ups with the company that I scheduled to have come and hook us up. . . Crazy! It is so funny how much we come to depend on the internet now. It was like having my right arm cut off for a while. Like a fish out of water. Totally cut off from the world. What did we do without the internet? We just floundered in obscurity.
Anyways, We had the funnest time. This summer we went to Nashville, TN to Albaquerque new Mexico, to the grand canyon, To Vegas, to Sea World in San Diego, to Idaho Falls, and went boating there. We went to Salt Lake City, toured Temple square and the new tabernacle. Toured BYU in Provo and went to Lagoon the water park. We got to ride sheep and bulls, chase chickens and ride 4 wheelers. It was such a good summer! It was almost a let down to come and have to be normal again.
We love our new neighborhood! Everyone is so great! We keep meeting new friends everyday and finding new fun things to do in the cold.
I have already bought the kids gloves and Jackets. I just have to wait for the boots and snow pants to come out.
The kids started school this week, which was a big yaaa hoo from both Brandon and I. THey have met so many friends and have had a good time thus far. Josh is in a spanish immersion school where they don't speak anything but Spanish all day long. So this will be an interesting year for him! Our ward is fantastic! It seems like we are already family there. I really think we are going to like it here. Despite the cold. Two of our neighbors are putting ice rinks in their back yards. So now I am on the lookout for ice skates for my kids. I know they will be out there everyday ice skating. Too much fun! Love to all

And the neverending vacation continues
Updates on the Rowberry's, After the 4th of July, we spent a few days in Vegas with my family and then headed up to Utah and Idaho. We went to Brandon's grandparents birthday party where they are turning 85 and 90 this year. It was a grand affair. We saw lots of cousins and Brandon's uncle Mick. He is a great guy. We stayed with Kelly and Brian King, who have a little more room at their house, and went to fireworks with them, then went boating on a different day. We had the best time. ON the boat we tried water skiing and we got bounced around on some tubes. Then on the way back, we hit a 6 foot swell and got drenched in water. Our boat got water logged and we had to pull over to the shore to get all the water out before we could continue. We didn't realize just how scary, and potentially dangerous it was, we thought it was great, but you could see the fear in Brian and Kelly's eyes. . . To this day it is Coleman's favorite part of the whole trip.
On the way back down to Vegas we stopped at Brandon's cousin's house that live right by the Provo temple. We used them as our home base and went all over. We took a tour of BYU where we got to ride on some golf carts and got to see all the buildings. We went to the museum there on campus that has tons of stuffed animals, bears and lions and an elephant. It was very cool to see. We got ice cream at the creamery and went to see Sharon elementary where I taught school. We went to the old house that we lived in when Brandon was attending BYU and where Ty and Lanae were born. Good times good times. Then on a different day we got to go and tour temple square in Salt Lake. That was a whole day affair. Then we got to go to 7 Peaks water park and spend a whole day on water rides, in a lazy river and playing playing playing. Each day when we went back to Jen's house, they were so fun. Our kids got along really well. . . They played games and slid down their stairs and had a great ol time. Jen and John are remodeling their house and lawn, so some of the kids got to ride on a tractor. We also got to see some trees come down. . . Exciting stuff!
Then we reluctantly headed back down to Vegas for one more week before the Spears family reunion. On the way back from provo, our car over heated. . . So we sat on the side of the road for 20 minutes until it cooled down and then found a gas station where we could go into the air conditioning and cool ourselves down. It was there that we found out it was 122 degrees F that day. We had to turn off the A/C when the car got hot, so we were all very hot. We loaded up with lots of ice and let the kids get an ice cream. We filled up all of our water bottles with cold water before we felt confident to head out again. By the time we reached my parents house, the kids were falling on the vine, saying that they were going to die from the heat. I had planned on going to Valley of Fire, and to Red rock and to all these outdoor places while we were here, but it is way too hot for any of that!! We have instead gone swimming and swimming and we did go to the Lied Childrens museum here in town. Anything that is indoors, we went and discovered it. There were a few times that we had to go out into the sun, and the kids just about died every time.. . . We will just have to come back when it isn't 120 degrees outside.
Last night we did make it to the Las Vegas strip. I wanted our kids to see the lights when it was night. . . They weren't very impressed. We walked through Caesars Palace. Mainly, because that is where Grandpa,(my dad) worked for 30 years or so while I was growing up. By the end we decided that all the hotels were just full of naked women, people loosing all their money at the tables and the slots, lots of smoking and drinking. So, they got their fill. Almost the whole night was, don't look down, oh wait, don't look at that billboard, Don't look that way either. . . There is a really big naked statue ahead, just look at the back of the person's head in front of you, and you will be safe. We had a great time!
On Monday we go shopping for our family reunion and then head up on Tuesday to Junction Utah. My birthday is on Monday, so Brandon is going to bring me out on the town. We will watch a show at the Excalibur Hotel and have a great time I am sure. Next Sunday we finally head up to Minnesota! Yea!
I am ready to have a schedule again, and to have nap times and figure out schools and figure out where we will be.
We did buy a house. In Eden Prairie. It looks fabulous online. I am anxious to see it in person. . . Brandon did see it in person and says it is fabulous. So, I am sure that it will be. Love to all. We miss you.

California
Crazy times. In the last few weeks, we have traveled the U.S. this last week we were in California. On Monday and Tuesday we went to Sea World in San Diego, went to one of the beaches there, and then went to a family reunion that was about an hour and a half away up in the mountains. We had a great time. We petted the sting rays , we got splashed by Shamu, we saw acrobats and dolphins, went on water rides and lost our keys in the sand at the beach. Then at the reunion we shot bow and arrows, swam and swam, climbed up a climbing wall, went on hikes, made crafts, played games until 2 am and got up to do it all over again. We had a great time.
Then we came back to Vegas just in time to go to Kindle's ward where he blessed his baby Chance, and to go to boulder City to see the fire works with a lot of my family.
One scare though, all the kids were playing, and then just as the fireworks started, we couldn't find Sawyer. We searched and searched for about 15 minutes and finally found him sitting with a little girl on someone elses blanket, not too far from us. . .When the fireworks started, he just sat down where he was and was meszmirized. I was scared to death, and what is funny, is the mother of the little girl knew that he was there, but was just going to wait until the fireworks were over to find out who he belonged to . She didn't tell anyone that he was there. All the while I was freaking out. But we found him in time to still enjoy the last of the show. . .Whew! Nothing like a scare like that to keep my on my toes.

Here in Vegas
We went through Arizona, stopped at the grand canyon. The kids didn't appreciate it as much as Brandon and I did. Yes it was hot, but they just didn't understand the magnitude of what it took to create this wonder of the world. We didn't stay for very long, because they were complaining too much. . . And we pressed on froward to Vegas. We have been staying at Grandma's house for the past few days. We have seen all three of my sisters, their great Grandma, and three of the five uncles here.
tomorrow we head out to San Diego for Sea World and a family reunion that week. Should be fun.

The Rowberry's have left Richmond Virginia
It is true. We left our home in Virginia on the 18th, the last day of the kids school. Brandon and I went to their school to pick them up, and we found their friends crying, their teachers crying, our neighbors crying. . . It was tough to say goodbye and finally pull away from the school and our home.
We got an offer just in time. . . In time to get an inspection, fix everything and sign it over to our relocation company just before we planned to leave on the 18th. We are calling it our Back west trip. We have big plans to reach our new home in Minneapolis by way of California. It will be about a 6 week trip before we finally pull into Minnesota. Lots of things planned.
Thus far, we drove from Virginia about noon for 14 hours straight to my friend Liz's house in Memphis Tennessee. We arrived at about 1 in the morning. She was nice enough to let us in at that hour and get us all situated in her living room.
This woman is amazing! It was kind of fun talking to her these last few months, we have been going through the same things with our husbands working in a different state, and the traveling back and forth. The being a single mom and feeling so exhausted by the end of the night. She just moved from Kansas City and the moving truck pulled into her new house on the 18th, So it was a busy day for her anyway, and then we showed up at 1 in the morning. He whole house was in boxes, but we mannaged to have a fun time despite it.
We would have had a fun time with Chris and Liz, no matter what. A big part of the fun was my kids seeing her kids again. They were all best friends before we left, and it seemed like they just picked up right where they left off 4 1/2 years ago when we left. They didn't skip a beat. I think that that is one of the reasons we got so close, because our kids were all best friends too.
We had such a great time with them . On Saturday we went to Mudd Island right along the Mississippi river. I thought it was a true Island, but it was not. That didn't stop our fun! We had a blast together.
We did get to go to chruch with them on sunday. I am sure that her ward thought us odd, that the first time her family shows up, they already have company staying with them. We ended up leaving on Sunday night, and drove straight for another 16 hours to get to Albaquerque New Mexico where we are now. Today we got to go on the tram ride to the top of the Sandia Mountains. It was a lot of fun. we took the kids on a trail hike to an old fort, and got dizzy looking down over the edge of the cliff. Then we went into Old Town New Mexico.. . In the plaza there were a few Indian people with their necklaces and other jewelry, just as I remember them as a kid. I let Lanae and Sasha choose a necklace and bracelet, just like My mom let me do. When I was about the same age as Lanae. They both got turquoise and silver, just like I did. Hopefully theirs will last as long as mine did. I still have it in my jewelry box.
Tomorrow we are headed to the Grand Canyon. We will probably stay a day and explore there. Then head on to Vegas to be with my family before we head down to San Diego. Fun fun.

Life gets busy
I looked at my blog just a day or two ago and realized just how long it has been since I last wrote. These past few months have been full of showings trying to sell our house. . . Brandon has been working in Minnesota Monday through Thursday and works from home on Friday. Then we get to be with him Sat. and Sun. before he has to fly back to MN.
In the beginning, I imagined that I would have so much time with Brandon being gone at night to read books, or do little projects. What I found was that I couldn't get anything out, for fear of making a mess, with someone coming to look at the house the next day. And , I am exhausted. I don't know how single mothers do it day in and day out, year after year. I at least have Brandon home on the weekends, and don't have to work. . . By the end of the day I am ready to go to bed with the kids.
We have gotten a lot of lookers for our house, but no buyers yet. Granted it has only been on the market for 2 months, in a very bad economy, so , we will just have to be patient and rent it out if it doesn't sell.
My kids have been steadily getting ready to say Goodbye to Virginia. We have been preparing them for over a year now, ever since Brandon lost his job back in January 2009 . . . But now it is finally real. I think that most of the kids will do well, and it will always take some time to adjust to our new area. I think lanae will have the hardest time, she will be going into 5th grade, and is realizing all of the things that she will be missing. All these years she looked forward to the 5th grade talent show and being a hall safety to the younger kids. I think she was talking about running for class president. . . All things that she will have to say goodbye to as well. Tyler will have to hand in his laptop, with no idea if his new school will do something similar. . Although this may be a good move for him. There are no boys his age in our ward here in VA, and there are a few boys in the neighborhood that I would rather him not associate with. Hopefully we can find a good neighborhood that will have some good boys to be his friends.
I think the rest of the kids will be good! It is always a challenge and will take some time for all of us to adjust, but I think we will do well.
The hardest part for the girls will be to leave their soccer team. The CRUSH has been together for so long now. A couple of years. . They have really gotten good together, and have become really close as friends.
As for me, I think that I will miss the good friends that we have made here, but will make other good friends in MN I am sure. Our family is outgoing enough that we will be ok.
This whole financial meltdown of the country has sure done it's number on our family. Between the job loss at circuit city, losing all the stock we had in it, and the year off of work, then losing 70-80K on our house, , It hasn't sold yet, so we aren't sure exactly how much we will lose. But that is where we are trying to sell it right now. . . I feel rather sad sometimes thinking what bad luck we have had to endure. But then I have to turn around and count my blessings that this last year and a half has brought to us. We are all healthy and strong. We have a job now when so many do not. We didn't have to go into credit card debt or rely on anyone for our support during our time without a job. We still have money in our savings account to pay for all of our needs and wants. I am very blessed!! I am so grateful for the church, for my friends here, for all of the love and support of our family. Sometimes all it takes is to step back for a moment and count my blessings to realize just how good I have it. My love to all! K

We found a job!!
Hey, we just wanted to give a shout out to all that we got a job!! yea! It has been a year almost to the day that Circuit City let everyone go. . . So, a great blessing.
We will be with United Health Group in Minnesota. Brandon will start the end of February, and the rest of us will relocate once school is over. It will give us plenty of time to sell the house and say goodbye.
It is so bitter sweet! We have loved it here in Richmond and made so many fabulous friends, but we are excited about being in a new place and making new friends.
Thanks to every one for all of their love and support this last year! We have felt of your love and prayers in our behalf. Kim

Visit to DC again
As a family we went up to DC before christmas and went to the temple, then got snowed into Brandon's sister Janae's apartment for the next few days. . . We had intended to see all the lights and go to a museum or two. . . So, Jan 1st we headed up there again to finish all the fun that we started. We even got to see Janae's new baby Eve that was born just after we left the first time. Here are a few fun pics.
We got to go to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints DC temple, and see their million lights on display. Then inside the visitors center they had a program put on by the Washington DC south missionaries. They are a very talented bunch. Mostly singing, but a few instraments as well.
Then the next day we went to the National Botanical Gardens right by the capital, where we saw an amazing train set display with buildings made out of totally natural things like tree bark and bamboo. It was very neat. Besides all the beautiful flowers and greenery. Then to the National American Indian Museum. It was amazing. I don't think the kids fully appreciate what they get to do being so close to DC. One day, they will be sad that they didn't pay more attention.
And Grandma and Grandpa Rowberry gave us the matching sweaters for Christmas. the kids loved looking the same, and it was easy for me to keep track of them when we were out. All in all, we had a great Christmas vacation from School and work.
