Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

I know I need to blog about first days of school, today is Ethan's first day of Kindergarten, and Elijah's 10th birthday, that's a big one!  I may or may not get to that.  I haven't been the most consistent blogger, ever.

I just have to share another funny story about Liam.  Last night I went to tuck them in and Chloe asked if there was a Barbie store.  I said I didn't know but probably somewhere.  Liam piped up with "There is I went there."

I said, "Really?  When?"

He said, "Last week with Nathan.  We took his Mom's car and drove to Brazil to go to the Barbie store."

I said, "Well, Brazil is really far away."

Liam said, "Don't worry Nathan drives really fast."

Nathan is his 4 year old best friend.  Now I am torn.  I am actually quite impressed with his imagination.  Pretty detailed for a 4 year old.  But I am also quite nervous.  If a 4 year old is already inventing stories where he steals his friend's Mom's car and goes on joy rides to Brazil, what do I have in store when he is a teenager!

For now we are trying to learn to tell the truth.

And because I probably won't post about it here are the first day of school pictures!

I love

Getting lectured on politeness by my 4 year old.  Liam offered to help with the laundry yesterday.  Everyone knows a 4 year is no help at all and I was in a hurry, so I said, "It's ok, I've got this."  He looked at me and said, "Mommy you are supposed to say thank you for offering."  He's right.  At least I have taught him well.

On a side note, our repairs have hit a snag.  Today they are cleaning tile and were supposed to be rebuilding the cabinet under our kitchen sink.  The downstairs tile cleaning is going fine.  The kitchen sink, however, is leaking.  Again.  So, they are drying it out and a plumber is on his way.  Seriously, I just want this madness to end.  Its been 4 weeks.  4 weeks of being chained to my house waiting for contractors who may or may not show up.  4 weeks of toys that are supposed to be in the basement all over my house.  4 weeks of Elijah and Ethan sleeping in the family room.  4 weeks of noise.  I am so done.

Chloe

In case you didn't already think she was a princess, let me remove all doubt.  Last night she came in my room with what she said was a great idea.  She told me she would eat breakfast in her pj's, lunch in her regular clothes, and then she would dress for dinner in her fancy dresses.  That's what princess do!

On another note, our basement is so close to being done.  Yay!  I am tired of Elijah and Ethan sleeping in the family room.  If only we could get through the mountains of red tape to get the money.  Ug.  That is another matter.  The insurance company paid right away, but because it is over 10,000 it has to go through the mortgage company and I feel like I am pulling teething to get it out of them!
