In West Philadelphia born and raised........

So it's been a while since we returned from our trip to Philly. We have just had so much going on since then that I have not been able to update our blog. So as you can see we took a few photos. We have one of us near the Liberty Bell. The other is of me eating my "original" Philly Cheese Steak. I have to say, they are not all that impressive. I think I have had just as good of one here in OK. The original was made with Cheese Whiz, so that of course is the way I had it made. I guess it was ok, but not worth the hour we waited for it. These two pictures are really all that we have because of all the stinkin' rain we had. I mean it poured a majority of the time we were there and never let up. All in all, it was an ok trip, I would be alright if I never went there again. It was good to see it once just to say I have been there. On a more exciting note, our 9 month old son took his first steps on Thurs!!!!!! I was in complete SHOCK. He has been standing on his own for a few weeks now, so I was trying to perfect his standing skills. I stood him up and then moved a little away from him and outstretched my arms indicating I wanted him to come to me. (in my mind I was thinking there was no way he would walk) Then he took 4 steps right to me! I was so blown away. The cool thing was that Kyle was right there with us and witnessed the whole thing. Now he will go back and forth between the two of us always taking about 4 steps each time. It won't be long before he is doing it farther and all on his own. I am lacing my running shoes as we speak.

Failure??

So I am not sure if I am still a fan of google or not. I found something interresting out today while on their site. For those of you who may not know what I am talking about, type in "failure" or even "miserable failure" and see what pops up. Very interresting.
Anyhow lets go on to more interresting subjects, like my son. He turned nine months this week.(Tear slightly shedding.) I cant belive how fast he is growing. I am happy to report that he in now in the 50th percentile for height. This greatly pleased his dad as he was beginning to see his dreams of a star BBall player slowly draining away. Every appointment since his birth, Ethan has been in the 25th, and now he is starting to catch up. Way to go! Hey, average is not to shabby.

Sooners

So here I am on Tuesday babysitting my child. Currently he is banging his cell phone on a toy and yelling Da-Da. ya gotta love it. So I have some concerns with football coaches particularly Bob Stoops. How many times have teams done well by trying to switch QB's in and out. It's stupid...pick one and go with it! Look a QB has to know his offense like the back of his hand, but if he's splitting snaps with the other QB he is not going to have the knowledge and understanding of the offense nor the trust of his teamates. So Stoops today says that he is going to start Bomar. Yea! he picked one but oh wait....No we still don't know if Thompson is going to come in from time to time. Well boys and girls it's going to be an ugly season if this stupidity and indecision continues. Let's hope the Dallas Cowboys do better this season or it could be a long football season. My son is now passed out on the floor. I guess I'll put him down for a nap. Here are a couple of before and after photos. The first is a picture of E and I prior to the Sooners manhandling by USC in the national championship game in January. The second is what we felt like after the game and also on Saturday after getting beat by our sister TCU.

The Porch

As you can see from the new photos, we now have a screened-in porch. Kyle and his dad worked countless hours to get it up. It is not completely finished. There are some minor details that need to be completed. We of course have all these plans for the porch, but like anything it is going to take lots of time and money to get it just the way we want.
On another note, Ethan turned 8 months this weekend. He is just growing too fast. Each stage of his life has brought something new and exciting, but sometimes I just wish things would slow down just a bit. Right now he is battling a cold and I think some allergies. However, Kyle and I now believe because of all of this he now has an ear infection. We are going to the Dr. later this evening to be certain. But, we are already pretty certain. Poor little fella. I am going to try to get a video posted of Ethan crawling soon. It is really funny to watch. Hopefully it works.

HE CRAWLS!!!!

So Kyle has decided to let me write today since I told him we needed to update. This will probably end up being a regular deal since it seems I have more time on my hands. As you can tell by the title, Ethan is now officially crawling!! Yeah! I am very excited, as I was beginning to think this may never happen. Ok, so it may look a little like scooting/crawling, but hey I am counting it as crawling. Next week he will be 8 months. I can hardly believe it. It is so true when people tell you they grow up fast, but until you experience it with your own kid do you truly understand.
For those of you who have not heard yet, my sister Val is having a girl! I am so excited to be looking at the "girls side" now at clothing stores. All of the gals out there know how much more fun this side really is. Anyhow, they will be naming her Ryanne Suzanne. Now all we have to do is wait until Jan. 11th.
I will try to be better with this blog than Kyle. So all of you may check us out here more often. Until then......Hollingsworth, out.

Trying something new

Well, we've decided to join the craze and start a blog. The truth is neither one of us know what or how to do this, so it will be a work in progress. This is one of our favorite pics of Ethan. Hopefully this works, and eventually we will figure it out.
