A Chip in It
{A Very COVID Christmas}
Tonight as I was putting away our Christmas Santa OJ pitcher I noticed a chip in it.
G.A.S.P.
Putting away Christmas early...I know, I know...but it was only *two-ish items, and the rest is S.T.A.Y.I.N.G.
In my defense, the "Januarys" came a little bit early for me this year with all the excitement to kick 2020 out the door, so I began reorganizing.
And so the story goes, in order to make space in the kitchen, I had to put some of our serving dishes on the dining shelf. In order to make space on the dining shelf, I had to put some of our Christmas décor away. If you give a mouse a cookie, am I right?!?
*two-ish: It was three but the third is rehomed so I am only "ish" counting it.
To be honest, although dishes with chips is are becoming quite familiar in our home due to our fabulous kitchen helpers still working on "gently", I was quite bummed to find a chip in my Christmas.
And then that thought made me chuckle.
The memories of this very COVID-Christmas does feel a bit like a chip in the story.
It for certain, was not the same.
Yet, beautiful Christmas moments filled the air as we shared stories of Christmas yore...that we shared while sipping eggnog in matching Christmas-jammies, of course...warming our hearts and filling our minds with excitement of Christmases to come. (Even Dad, who typically bah-humbugs pajama pants in general, got a pair of red buffalo plaid joggers - YES SIR - and he has been rockin' around them around the Christmas tree all season.) 😆
One evening, I told Cody that seeing him in his Christmas pajamas makes my heart so light.
He smiled and said, "Max said the same thing to me today..." 😍
And now I'm on bedtime duty. The kids have been "training" for New Year's Eve by inching closer to that midnight bedtime.
Why in COVID-hell not? HA.
January schedules are coming...
Happy New Year. Just felt like writing. 💗
