I absolutely love ebay! Scott and I are in the process of finally replacing all of our old, worn out, dusty, crappy VHS movies with sparkly new DVDs and I have discovered that ebay is the place to do it. I am in the process of bidding on six movies and it's looking like it will only cost me about $7.42 (plus a few bucks for shipping). Hopefully I won't get them here and find that they're all dubbed over in Japanese or some craziness like that! That would be so not cool! Now I better go check on my bids!

Merry Christmas!
Whew! What a Christmas!
Sushi and snacks on Christmas Eve.
"Yea! I got a Snuggie!"
Wrapped up like a fat little Christmas present.
And then here's a smorgasboard of all of our random Christmas pics.
I hope your Christmas was nice. We spent the day after Christmas taking down the tree and every single decoration. Now I need to start organizing closets to make room for all of our new loot.
See you in the new year!

A Hanson Christmas
Grandma Wendy came over to give the boys their Christmas presents. Beck was very happy about it and loves his new General Grievous Star Wars Transformer.
Owen loves his new bulldozer and talking doggy.
Santa Baby!
Only two days until Christmas!

Is Santa Missing A Reindeer?
Because I found one in my living room! Thanks Heather for the cute costume. It's adorable and so warm!
And then I found Santa in the kitchen. We delivered our neighbor gifts last night and Beck insisted on wearing his Santa hat while he ran the gifts to the doors.
ONLY THREE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!

Feast
It was our third annual Christmas feast with the Jewkes. First, we gorged ourselves on turkey, stuffing, potatoes, rolls, and Jell-O, and then we got down to the serious business of opening presents. The kids were so excited!
Lincoln was...well, Lincoln. (This is his new "cheese" face.)
But then he put on his game face and opened up his new sweatshirt.
Beck got a new game and we've been playing it all day.
Carmen got some blendy markers that can draw in rainbow colors.
The kids had to check out these awesome markers.
Owen decided to just hang out under the table while they colored.
Only four days until Christmas,
and we're getting very excited!

Jumpin'
We have been trying to get Owen to use the Jumperoo ever since he could hold his head up on his own. In the past, he would just sit there and look around and after about four-and-a-half minutes he would start crying to get out. But now he has finally figured it out and absolutely loves it!
As you can see, he is just as happy as a big fat jumping clam!

Birthday Cake
It was Carlee and Connor's birthday party last night and I was in charge of the cake. I had a lot of criteria to fill...it had to be Christmas themed, for a 12-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl, and it had to have a little-sized cake so that Carlee could eat her own cake for her first birthday. I decided to go with a stack of Christmas present cakes with the tiniest present for Carlee.
I thought it turned out super cute and I was pretty happy with it. Carlee was not interested in eating her cake last night and really didn't want to get her fingers sticky from the frosting, but it was still a fun party!

Festival of Trees
We went to the Festival of Trees last week and had so much fun. Beck heard about the Star Wars tree on the radio before we got there and so we spent the first half hour searching for it. We stayed at this tree for close to 20 minutes just looking at all the action figures and ships and then we had to go back again before we left to look just one more time.
He also liked the Guitar Hero tree.
He had fun standing in the bubble machine.
And no trip to the Festival would be complete without a visit with Santa, and Owen decided to join in the fun (even though Santa almost dropped him....twice).
And we loved waking up to snow over the weekend...It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! and we're getting excited!

Ups and Downs
What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. We feasted on two separate occasions with many delicious morsels and treats. Now we have a fridge full of leftovers but no appetite left. We had so much fun hanging out with family and playing games, watching movies, chasing kids, and watching football. Scott is still recovering from his injuries after playing Turkey Bowl Thursday morning.
Friday I got to go see New Moon with my mom and sister. I LOVED IT! It was perfect. There were only a few minor things I would have changed (Bella running through a forest in a silky blue dress - give me a break).
We also got our Christmas tree put up on Friday and all of our Christmas decorations. Presents are wrapped and under the tree and the countdown to the big day has begun.
These were all of the ups of the weekend. However, on Sunday morning, Scott got a call from his dad telling us that one of our really good friends from high school, Brian Buttars, had been killed in a motorcycle accident. Scott has been friends with him since about third grade and I know he will really miss him. It's so hard when something tragic like this happens. Brian was so full of life and love. My heart goes out to his family. He has a wonderful wife and two beautiful kids with one more on the way. Life is funny. How quickly it passes and how final the end seems. Make every day count. Tell those around you how much you love them and cherish those special moments that make life worth living!

Milestones All Over the Place
Owen hit four milestones this week. He's got his first two teeth sprouting up on the bottom.
He learned to sit up all by himself.
And then my two favorite....after four different models, he finally found a sippy cup he likes, and he learned to hold it by himself so I'm off the hook.
I love any milestone that gets me out of doing the work.

Holiday Baking
As you start your baking for this holiday season, remember that the best part of making a cake is licking the bowl!

Six Month Rundown
We went to Owen's six-month checkup today and got all the stats. I thought it would be fun to compare to Beck's numbers and see who is "winning."
(Can you tell who is who?)
Beck: Weight - 16 lbs 3 oz. Height - 26 inches
Owen: Weight - 19 pounds 8 oz. Height - 27 inches
Conclusion: Owen is fat and Beck is short. Surprise, surprise...they must have inherited both from me.
(Beck was the top picture...was that hard? I think they look similar but definitely not the same)

Perfect
When I woke up this morning and saw the snow outside, I knew it was going to be a perfect Saturday. I love this time of year. I love the sound of the furnace clicking on, the smell of nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon that waft from the kitchen, and the warm cozy feeling of being hunkered down at home while the storm rages outside. And we have a U game this afternoon. Yup...this is my idea of perfection!
