COVID-19

So, it's been a while since I updated my blog/rjs scrapbook. We have had an incredible year from 2019-2020, but it's been a busy one.  I am taking time to write this update first before I use my extra time to update the book on our lives. Here is a brief synopsis, for you to read one day, RJ!

This virus, COVID-19, is a crazy one. It started in China and made it's way across Asia into Europe and now America because of air travel. We are supposed to be on a 2 week quarantine to "flatten the curve" and keep the virus from spreading. It can cause extreme respiratory distress and hospitalization in younger people and be deadly for elderly and immuno-compromised individuals. We as an entire country have been asked to stay home and away from others to help stop the spread. It's a very apocalyptic feeling right now.

When I feel uneasy like this, I get quiet, and I find something to clean and/or organize. We cleaned our house yesterday trying to keep busy. I think one silver lining we are seeing from this event is the fact that everyone is slowing down and just being with their people. The only solace I have that keeps me from being "scared" is my Savior.  I know that this life is not the end for me. I know that HE is ultimately in control. He knows what's happening and is holding me. There is no greater love to be known than my Savior's love. I rest in that, as I hope others can too. Now that I have some extra time on my hands, I am going to get caught up on this blog!  See you real soon :)

24/7 Dance

Like I said earlier, we attended dance competition on RJ's birthday weekend!  She did very well at this competition, and her group Dream State knocked it out of the park!  They got 2nd place and a dance again!  We were so happy for them! Ryleigh Jane received 4th place for her solo!  Out of 56 I would say that's pretty durn good!

They got to meet "Twitch", who is on staff.  They were so shy about asking him for a photo, and then he ended up posting it on his instagram story!!  So stinking cute!

Girl Scouts, Ginger, and Dance

I was a Girl Scout my entire life, and I am also a member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi Board. I wanted RJ to have the same experience, so we signed up.  It was quite a different experience than what I had as a GS, but we did sell cookies nonetheless... Austyn signed up with us!  At least she made it fun for RJ!

Ryleigh Jane did a dance intensive at USM.  She really enjoyed it!  She was mostly with the big girls, and that always makes her feel fancy!

Spring Pictures at school!

Ginger is still hanging in there!  We love this sweet little dog!  At this point, Lulu is on her last leg in life, so Ginger gets most of our attention, so we don't bother lulu too much!

The rest of January and February

We had some more random events in January and February!  We watched Colbie play basketball, which she was definitely the star of the show if you are strictly going on performance/putting on a show!  She really is so fun to watch do whatever activity she is involved in!

We celebrated Erin's 40th birthday with a fun dinner!

RJ had several fun days at school with different activities that teachers would send us photos of throughout the day!
Her first love note from Sam Patterson!  She said they could be Valentine "friends", which is a big step for her.  She is NOT interested in a boyfriend at this time!  Her dad is thankful.

RJ had a little time behind the bench too!!

And finally we celebrated Kendrick's 4th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese!
