Yay for Sun!

This weekend we very much enjoyed the nice weather. Eighty degrees, sun and little wind - what more could we ask for? Too bad the rest of this week is going to be crappy. Friday we went to my nephew's field day. I remember LOVING field day - coming home with ribbons from the events was so cool. This year they had an olympic theme and each class represented a different county. They had an opening ceremony/parade and played all the countries national anthems. Families came for a picnic lunch and then they had their events. Audrey was in heaven with the playground and totally wore herself out. She also got her first sunburn on her arms. I was super careful with sunscreen last year, so I feel bad seeing her red arms.

Saturday we went and swam with our awesome neighbors for a couple hours. Audrey actually let one of the other grownups play with her in the pool for a while, so hopefully we're making stides with being friendly.

I also read The Host, by stephenie meyer, this weekend and loved it. This book is about an alien that takes over a woman's body. This book is similar in a way to the twilight series (of coarse) and it draws you in just like the other 3 books did. I'm not a huge reader, but I do like to read books that interest me. My problem is that I get too impatient to see how it ends and thus end up doing nothing else until I'm done with the book. Last night I read the book and watched the desperate housewives finale at the same time. :)

Nightmares & Insomnia

Last night was one of those rough ones. Audrey came in my room at 3 am super scared and upset from some nightmare (I think it involved her hair because she kept touching her ponytail). She wanted me to lay by her, so I figured she'd calm down and go back to sleep. No such luck. Toss, turn, toss, turn, sniffle, toss turn... She wouldn't let me leave, and she finally konked out just after 5 am. Does she sleep in? Nope. I totally thought she would after the insomnia thing and after the brutal early-morning church.

Audrey hasn't had heartburn at night since being put on prevacid, and her nightmares and insomnia are much less common than they used to be, but I really hate rough nights. I just don't do well with lack of sleep. I don't know if I could function with more than one child! Major kudos to all of you with 2, 3 or 4 kids. Blows my mind. :)

Audrey did have a little nap (after slightly protesting) and she went to bed a bit early, so hopefully we'll have a happier day tomorrow. Grouchy girl and grouchy momma don't do so well. :)

On another happy note - oh, how the bachelor totally suuuuuucks! Like that relationship will last. Bring on the bachelorette! Maybe she can find one that will work. :)

Dance Battle

I saw this online dance challenge thing today and cracked up. Essentially, this dance crew (acdc) has challenged miley and mandy to an online dance battle. M&M responded and then acdc responded to them. All 3 video clips are amazing. I don't know how people move their bodies like that! If you are a fan of so you think you can dance, Lacey and Hok are in the third clip. Enjoy! (Yes, I had a lot of time to waste today.)
