Good morning from Stanley Park! It's the 8th Annual House of Clause New Years. It is bitterly cold but brilliantly clear. What a great way to wrap up 2015.
Miss Moo overlooking North Vancouver and the Lion's Gate Bridge. It's a chilly 30 degrees this morning. But the sun is shining brightly!
Our New Year's Eve tradition-- rendezvousing with the Joe and Michelle at Lin's Chinese Restaurant for Xiaolongbao in Vancouver, BC. Miss Moo is eating her own entire basket!
Our other New Year's Eve tradition- Murchie's famous teas!!
A new book from Indigo- appropriately titled, Smile (with braces!). She loved the book and wrapped it up before we got home that night. She has NEVER read something that quick.
Michele C. does such a great job of discovering great little touristy destinations for us. Tonight it as
VanDusen Botanical Gardens which put on a holiday light display. We froze, but the colors were beautiful.
We grabbed a fabulous New Year's Eve dinner at French Canadian restaurant - Brodeur's Bistro. We had smoked meat sammies and poutine, the greatest Canadian export EVER!! Now we have to try to stay awake for 3.5 more hours. Maybe we should do Montreal New Year??
45 more minutes.... We can do this!!
I mustache you a question- do we look ridiculous or what? Time to ring in the new year!
A good nights rest and then brunch. We are starting 2016 off right- eating health food. I mean, these Bloody Mary's are practically a garden in a glass. And vodka is a grain.

And finally, a lazy day around the House of Clauss. Normally we end up heading out around noon in order to get home and be ready for work the next day. But not this year! A weekend New Year offered us a great opportunity to simply lounge around, take naps and prepare ourselves for the inevitable craziness that will come when we head back to work and school and Monday.
The Moo was quietly content to play with her American Girl dolls, treating them to a full spa treatment.
This has been a perfect way to wrap up what has been a really pleasant, REALLY relaxing holiday break. The last week or two has provided a much needed break from work and school and has been relatively stress free-- much more so than past years. So on to 2016 and what little adventures it has in store for us!
