Plan of Action

I feel like a failure.and terrible friend/family member.  I've been holding out on you because I feel like I can't blog until I blog about the most amazing trip-of-a-lifetime I took to Europe this summer.  Only I can't blog about that because I don't want to half way do it and I haven't had the time, or ambition, to sit down and write it all our for you.  I think I'll start by typing up each journal entry (I journaled every night on our trip).  That way I can take it one day at a time.  Even that seems like quite a project.

I'll pull out my journal right now and begin my Europe blog...very soon.  Once that is out of the way, I can update you on my life and Kin's.

Thanks for being faithful bloggers, even though I'm not!

Here is a little tease...to get you interested in my Europe trip.

P.S.  This phone booth smelt worse than an American port-a-potty.  I kid you not.

Lately

Life lately has been so busy!  Sorry it has been so long.  Let me try to catch you up!

WORK:  Shortly after I blogged about my job... I got a promotion, so all that stuff is old news already!  I have a new office and new (and too many) responsibilities too!  I went to California last week and trained at our headquarters.  Some of my new responsibilities include purchasing and HR.  I learned a lot in CA but it was cold and rainy and I worked everyday I was there so I can't say that it was too much fun.  But I got a free trip to LA!  Which that in itself, is pretty cool in my opinion?!

KP:  Kinley is growing like a weed.  I can't believe she's about to graduate from Pre-school!  She had a "Fine Arts Night" program a few weeks ago.  She sang and danced and was the cutest little bow head out there.

Tonight we went to a Pajama Party at Heather's house.  Remember my hilarious writer friend who has twin girls in Kinley's class?  That's her.  She hosted it and we had a blast!  When we arrived, she was standing on her porch in her jammies with her two little girls (also in their jammies) dancing around to "Girls Just Want to Have Fun."  Before we left we took a group shot.  I know we look goofy but we had so much fun laughing, eating, watching movies and snacking.

LONDON:  London graduated!  Linc, Jade and Gammy all got to visit.  I love my family so much!

NEXT:  London and I leave for Europe in 6 days!  We are going to London, Paris, Barcelona, Venice, Rome and then on a cruise to the Mediterranean Islands that leaves from Athens!  We can't wait for this trip.  I'm sure I'll have more to say about that when we return.

That's all for now!  I'll try not to go so long without posting next time!

IPS Corp

After 4 years of college, a cross-country move and almost 2 years of networking...I have a real job, my own desk, my own stapler, my own company laptop (with docking port for desktop use)  and I LOVE IT!!!

I've been an employee of SCIGRIP Smarter Adhesive Solutions (AKA IPS Corp.) for almost a month now.  Think that name stuff is confusing?  So do our customers!

So to catch you all up, I've been there almost a month now. Here is a breakdown of some of my daily tasks:
  • I'm answering phones "Good morning SCIGRIP Smarter Adhesive Solutions, this is Macy, How may I help you?"
  • Entering orders with our larger-than-life AS 400 system. It has the solid black screen and neon green writing.  Remember that?  It is was very intimidating.
  • Sorting mail, and assigning the correct GL code to the invoices...Still a challenge...(I have a 16 page list of codes, it's harder than it sounds)
  • Calculating time cards (we have about 20 employees in the back that work the mixers and fill cartridges that turn over ALL THE TIME) Keeping track of those bad boys is not an easy job.
    • Side note: I downloaded an app for $2 bucks so now I type in the time punched in, the time punched out, and input the length of their lunch break (it's always 30 min) and it tells me their hours for the day.  Sounds simple but seriously, this app has made my job 5x easier!  Plus, I HATE math!
  • Updating the SCIGRIP website.  Please click here to see my fabulous work.
  • Going to ISO, marketing and SalesForce meetings.  Sounds so professional right?
I love my job!!!

Below are pictures of my desk (I haven't decorated yet) but Mom is already brainstorming so that will be taken care of in no time.
View from the door.  Our walls are mint green.
That's the mail and invoices.

I share my office with my boss.  BUT, I like it.
