D-Day (Demolition)

Pre-demolition Day with Brenner. Remember that wall that used to be in the kitchen? And to think Dad used to get so mad at you kids for not sitting on all four legs of the chairs because it would mark the wall.

10/15/08--the wall came down. Jason, Dad, and Kyle Shira spent all day & several nights taking down the wall and pulling up the floor in the kitchen, hallways, bathroom and laundry room. Jason wondered where our 8 kids were today? Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, busy.

Can you believe we actually fit the table in such a small space? Carson said, "Somebody broke Grandma's
wall and we can't go home until it's fixed." He asked if Uncle Jason had to go to timeout.

The oven is gone--after four years of not working. Dad is the happiest of all. It hasn't really gone too far, it is sitting in the back of the red truck. Baby steps.

Say goodbye to the yellow fridge.

"Grandma, is this my new castle?"

Celebrating 90 Years!!!

We celebrated Grandma Huffaker's 90th birthday with the Huffaker clan (10/25/08). The theme was "Because of You". We ate lunch, visited, had family pictures, played a game (one vs the family), sang a song, and watched a video tribute to grandma.

90 years never looked so good!

All Grandma Huffaker's grandkids, their spouses, great-grandkids, and great-great grandkids.

Special song "Because of You" for grandma.

Grandma with all of her grandkids and their children. No spouses allowed--sorry Aubree!

It was a beautiful day and a really nice birthday celebration. We missed Ben, Nat, Jaden, Megan, Lanie, Tricia, Michael, Shaun, and Grandpa Huff. We KNOW you were all there in thought and spirit.

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma. We love you!!!

Children of the Corn

We spent Labor Day harvesting corn. Since the peaches aren't ready to pick we didn't have anything else to do in the freezing cold 'Utah' weather. These are a few tips to harvesting corn:
Have Melissa and Chad bring Chase--he works hard!

1. You must dress for the occasion. Thanks for Shaun for leaving behind the sweats for Justin to borrow. Did Grandpa Huffaker leave behind the rubber boots for mom? Grandpa's old coveralls would be good, but we cut them up to make a quilt.

2. You need lots of helpers! It is even better if they are cute and happy!!!

3. Husk the corn. It was too cold, windy & rainy while we husked so we didn't take time to take a picture.

4. Wash the corn. Chase, Jack, Darren and (at moments) Colby were really good at helping Grandpa wash the corn (throw the corn into the cooler of water).

5. Cook the corn. Jason recommends an ipod during all harvest projects.

6. Cut the corn. Brandon, Justin, Chad & Sara rocked at cobbin'!

7. Bag the corn. Lisa, Mom, Ericka and Brandon bagged 60 quarts of corn to freeze!!!

8. EAT THE CORN!!!! (Hold on, Jack's getting some butter.)

9. Ella is a smarty pants. Her plan was to ignore everyone, including the corn, and just play soccer.

Bear Lake

Does anybody need some shade, Dad found some!

A broken arm doesn't keep jack out of the water!

Typical Big boy water fight....

Two boys one towel, who forgot their own towel!

Chase couldn't get enough dirt!

Lots and Lots of Food!!!

Can't you just see them in 80 years!

We missed all of those who weren't there, we had a good time.
And maybe with these pictures you can feel like you were there
with us.
