Big changes

Over the past year, we've been in the process of getting out of our house and back to renting. We feel really good about this decision and we are looking forward to improving our financial situation. We have hoped and prayed that we could find something close by so that we could stay in our ward and school boundaries. Most of all, we knew that if we trusted in the guidance of the Lord, we would end up in the place we needed to be.

After lots of looking and lots of consideration, we have found a place. We feel like it is the right place for us to be, but it is far away from where we live now. It is in the Sellwood area, which is southeast part of Portland along the Willamette river

We are really sad to leave our area and our ward, but we hope that we can stay connected with our friends nonetheless.

Here is a picture of the house. This is the back of the unit. It has three bedrooms.

This is the elementary school that the kids will attend. It's got a rating of 10 out of 10 and will offer the kids lots of opportunities in their education.

This playground and park a couple blocks away and I can't wait to take the boys there.

We are hoping to finish the school year in our home, but that will depend on whether the bank will let us stay until then. We plan on using the time we have now to slowly move over to our new place so that when we need to be out we can be ready to move over.

I have gone through an emotional roller coaster about this decision, but I have felt a great peace about it. I also take it as a good sign that when I have tried to keep looking for something else, nothing else feels as right as this does.

Hiya

...since I've not updated it for almost a year...we are still around...busy...happy.

The boys are doing well. Hunter has enjoyed being part of the chess club this year and done well at the tournaments. We threw him a dinosaur themed birthday party for his 10th birthday. Devan is doing really well in Kindergarten, thanks to an amazing teacher. He's thrilled to be reading and is excelling in his math. Aiden is growing up too fast and we have some great times together while the boys are at school.

I have been training to get ready for triatholon and it's been going really well. I feel great and I've lost some weight too. Matt has been enjoying being the cubmaster assistant and work has been going well.

We really enjoyed listening to General Conference together this weekend. After it was finished we went for a walk in one of our favorite parks. It's become one of the ways we celebrate the weather warming up. Here's the boys jumping for joy.
