Addi Pics

Our baby girl is almost two. Just thought I would post some new pics from Valentine's day and her pretty new dress. Addi has taken an interest in the potty (notice the potty chart and proud smile in the last pic). I have been busy riding the horses and trying to get good grades. Addi loves to play in the dirt with her trucks while I ride and she loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse while I study. I am still working one day a week at the feedlot. Shane has been riding a little when he can, he is working a lot of Saturdays. We are all ready for warmer weather.

It's Been a Month Already...

Wow time flies by. A few highlights from the last month

1. Western Nationals Barrel Race in Ogden-Won money in the second go. Would of won more in the short go except I tipped. My cousin Leah and her three kids came to watch and the kids got to ride Tilly all over, they had a great time!

2. Family party in Pleasant View, Utah-Founder's Day. This was really fun! Lots of food and we got to be really close to the fireworks, we watched them from my aunt and uncle's yard. Addi loved the fireworks, when they were finished she pointed to the sky and said "mo, mo" aka more.

3. I have been working at the feedlot, helping Shane. I actually really enjoy it and of course Addi gets to come along. She loves it out there, her favorite part is when we go outside to the scales and pull hay samples from the big trucks!

4. Our horses knocked down the panels blocking off our garden and proceeded to eat everything except the squash, sunflowers and tomato plants. We lost our beans, peas, corn, marigolds, spinach, potatoes, broccoli, lettuce and carrots. Shane and I were devastated and REALLY irritated. We are going to try and replant and see what happens. Keep your fingers crossed!

5. Addi is running all over and saying dog, horse, hi, bird, and half a dozen other words. Her hair is finally long enough to put in pigtails or a pony tail. She wants to be outside all day long and loves to run through the sprinklers or play in her pool! She is really happy and hardly ever fusses. I told my mom the other day it is a good thing she keeps getting more fun because she also keeps getting harder! Let's not even talk about when we go out to eat.

COMING UP... All day horse ride out in the middle of nowhere, camping with friends on the fourth, all of Shane's siblings coming for a visit, swimming lessons with Addi and multiple barrel races/rodeos! Don't you just LOVE summer!

I can SEE!!

I have been at my mom and dad's for almost a week. I had to come up Friday for a pre-op for Lasik surgery which I had done yesterday. I am already seeing 20/20 and it should get better over the next week! How awesome is that! Addi has been having a great time with her Nana and Pop-Pop. We went to the local Safe Kids Fair and had a great time. We got to see K-9 cop demos and we got free snow cones, sunblock, water, whistles and the highlight...a baloon. Addi went swimming daily in her baby pool. Saturday we went shopping and then put in a garden at their
house. Nana bought Addi her first "real" baby doll. It looks just like her and she loves it! It went by way to fast but time to get home as Shane turns the big 32 tomorrow. Happy Birthday Shane!

Sunlovin!

I am so excited for nice weather, without the dang wind. Today I worked in the yard for 5 hours! I weeded and prepped flower beds and the garden spot. I also mowed the lawn and filled in the spots where rocks were missing.
Last night I went to a barrel race and ended up with the second fastest time of the night out of about 55 riders or so. I won some money but more importantly I was really proud of Tilly and I. I have been riding three horses about 4 days a week. I love riding it is my "out."
Addi has been sick the last two days and I feel horrible for her but feel comfort because she really wants to cuddle! She has even fallen asleep twice in my arms, that never happens. Let me just say there is nothing more wonderful than your child asleep on your chest. On the brighter side she is running all over the place. She is such a funny little guppers. She put a dog toy in the dishwasher and a milk carton in the dryer. She has thirteen teeth and loves strawberries, bananas, yogurt and her milk. She hates the car seat for long periods and not being able to eat on the run. I have trimmed her hair twice. She rides the horses with me all the time.
I have been couponing like crazy, it is so addicting. A couple weeks ago I got over a hundred dollars in food and I only paid the tax. When I saw the receipt it said my subtotal was $.00 I was amazed!

Shane and I are both headed back to school. I am going to finish my RN and Shane is working towards his MBA. Till next time...

Happy Birthday Addilyn!

Our little girl turned one on Friday so we had a party with just us. I made cupcakes and we sang and showered attention on Addi (no different than any other day). Today we had the bigger family party with both sets of grandparents. We had a luncheon with chicken salad and roast beef sandwiches. My mom made her famous baked beans and Margo made a yummy fruit salad. Addi was loving the fruit salad. We went outside after and turned the horses out into the pasture so we could watch them run around. Later we opened presents. She got some really fun and wonderful things, way to hit the motherload baby girl! Addi loved her pretty pony cake I made, it was actually really fun and easy to do! She was a little hesistant at first but she finally dove in and got her hands and face full of cake, just the way it should be. After the grandparents left we went on a four mile walk to make room for a second helping of cake and ice cream. It was a perfect day with lots of fun and beautiful weather. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY ANGEL! WE LOVE YOU!
A side note, she took her first steps (three in a row) on Saturday and did a few more today. She also has two more teeth for a total of nine!

Addi...my love!

I can't believe how fast time flies. Our little girl is almost a year old. I thought I should post some new pictures and comment on some new developments. She is no longer willing to drink from a bottle or nurse so we have moved to cow's milk in a sippy cup. She is tolerating that well and is a yogurt and cheese junkie! She is close to walking, taking a step and then grabbing for the first thing she can find. She has the ability but no confidence. She is still taking two naps daily. She sleeps for an hour at about 10:30am and then a two hour nap at 2:30-3pm. I usually sit in the front room and soak up the sunshine and read while she sleeps. We have been going for walks and small runs daily (if the weather and my ankle cooperates). I have Addi in the stroller and a dog on either side. I have been riding or working with the horses daily as well. Addi loves to sit in her stroller and watch. I have been working to get our four year old mare and two year old filly broke. I rode Legs (the two year old) for the first time on Friday...she handled it like a champ. All the ground work and desensitizing paid off. She acted like the saddle and I had been there a hundred times. She is such a neat little horse. I had my first barrel race back after my broken ankle. I was scared to death, a odd sensation for me when I am on the back of a horse. We did great though, I won third in the 2D both days and am currently in second place for the saddle series! They are awarding a saddle to the high money winning horse/rider combo. Our fingers are crossed!
Shane, as usual, has been working a ton. Saturday we went for a trail ride at the Sand Dunes to get the horses really tired. I rode Tilly and Shane rode Dixie (the four year old). Brent came with us and everyone did well and was exhausted after walking and running through the sand including our poor dogs. Margo watched Addi and then we all ate tacos and played Pinochle. The women triumph again. Two weeks in a row!
I have been really trying my best to coupon shop to the fullest. I saved over fifty bucks this week alone just with coupons. I have even attended some classes on the subject that have been very insightful. I know it mind sound strange to some of you but it can be a great way to save some serious cash. Just one example...I got jumbo packs of Huggies diapers normally ten bucks for less than two bucks a pack. Cool huh!
I am working with the boy scouts now and Addi and I attended our first outing this last week. It is career week so we went on a field trip to the police station, post office and bank to show the boys what it would be like to work at these places. They were mostly excited about the police officers job, because they get to carry a gun. :)
I think that about covers the high points...hope all is well with everyone!
