Christmas Tree Time

We went for our annual Christmas tree search last weekend. There is a tree farm where we go and get to cut down which ever one we like.(well.. David is the one that cuts it down and the kids and I just yell "TIMBER"!!) The kiddos really enjoy it.

Looking...Looking...
Found it!

Taking it home!

The Nutcracker Ballet

Casady and I and Nana had an afternoon date at the ballet. We went to see the Nutcracker. This was Casady's first time to see a ballet. For the first part of the show she just sat in my lap in awe!!! The second half of the show she was dancing in front of her seat just like a ballerina. Here is Nana and Casady waiting for the show to start. We had a great time.

Thanksgiving

Well I have been looking forward to Thanksgiving for a few months now. I just love food and Thanksgiving always has to best food!!! We spent it at Nana and Papa Joe's house. Besides the kiddos being a little sick, it was great. And yes...I ate a lot!!!!

The family.

Eating some yummy turkey and ham.

Country Stars

David and I got to go to a concert that was celebrating Oklahoma's 100th birthday. At the concert was Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Reba, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, and the oh so cute Carrie Underwood. We had wonderful seats. This is Mrs Reba standing next to our isle. She introduced someone right there in front of us. We thought the concert was good, but I was really wanting Garth to sing and he did not. But overall it was neat to see so many country stars in one place!

Bouncing Around

Before the weather got to cold we let the kiddos bounce around in their inflatable jumper thingy!! We had to leave it up the whole weekend. They would just go out and jump until they couldn't jump any more.

Library Day

Every Tuesday Casady and I go to the library for preschool reading and songs. There is a theme every week and the kiddos will sing songs and have books read to them about the theme. Then they make a craft and have a snack. It is a lot of fun. I love our little small town library. Well the theme this week was firetrucks. So the local fire station brought a truck by so we could check it out!!

Casady takes her backpack every time so that she can cart the books she checks out!!!
I thought she looked super cute with this huge hat on!!

Going to the Dentist

Well the kiddos had their first dentist appointment last week. I was not sure how Casady would do, but she was more excited than Dawson. Bubba went first so we could see exactly what to expect. He did great and thought it was cool that they died his teeth red so they could see what they needed to clean. Then the little lady went and had a great time. She looked so little in the chair. She was a very big girl and sat very still. Neither of the kids had a cavity so they got their picture taken for the Super NO Cavity Board!!! Oh...and of course they really loved that they got a new toothbrush out of the deal!!

Dawson really liked when she would use what she called "Mr. Thirsty" to suck the water out of his mouth!

What a big girl.

Field Trip

Dawson had a field trip today to the pumpkin patch. Casady and I went along to enjoy the fun!! They had a little science/math lesson on why pumpkins float, a story read to them by Mother Goose, and snack time. Plus they got to pick out a pumpkin to take home with them. We had a fun time.

Here is Dawson's 1st grade class.

This is Dawson and Casady with his friend Hannah.

Here they are listening to Mother Goose (or little old lady who volunteered to read) tell a Halloween story!!!

Gymnastics

Casady started her own gymnastics class and she absolutely loves it. We had to get her a leotard to wear. She not only wears it to class, but she also wears it everyday around the house. It is hard for her not to dance and do flips all day long. She does not just walk anywhere she twirls and dances.

Here she is before class just playing around.

She was practicing her moves here.

Fairy Princess

Casady received this little fairy outfit as a gift and pretty much wears it everyday since she got it. She is really struggling on whether she will be a pink fairy princess for Halloween or a regular princess (like Cinderella or Belle). I guess we will just have to wait and see!! She really hates to take pictures, can't you tell?!?!

Homework

Since Dawson is in the 1st grade now, he has homework. He really doesn't like it when I tell him it is time to do his homework. But when he sits down and starts I think he enjoys it. He really likes to learn and is interested in many things. So here he is looking so cute!!

Monster Trucks

When I was little my dad used to take my brother and I to the monster trucks shows. We loved them so I thought Dawson would enjoy it also. Dawson counted down the days just like Casady did for the princess show. He and Papa had a great time. He couldn't believe how big they were and how loud!
Here they are ready to go!

This is the ride home. The show was a late show. Dad said Dawson did not last long once they got into the car.

Princess on Ice

Princess on Ice came to the state fair this year. And of course we just had to attend!! My mom and I took Casady. We got the tickets about a month ago and have been counting down the days. After a lot of contemplating, Casady decided to wear her Cinderella dress and sparkling slippers. She had a hard time falling asleep the night before and woke up a bit early ready to go. You can't really see in the pictures how the ice looked but it was a very good show and I know we got our moneys worth just being able to see the expressions on Casadys face!

Anxiously awaiting the show to start!

Casady and I.

Clapping for Sleeping Beauty and her Prince!

This was her reaction when she saw Cinderella...priceless!

Crazy Hair

Casady had her hair in french braids all day. So when I took them out I gave her a head massage and her hair puffed out. It was so funny and cute of course!!! It looked like she had my permed hair in the 80's!

Gymnastics

Casady got to attend her first gymnastics class today. Our friends Thomas and Silas invited her to their "bring a friend" day gymnastics class. She absolutely loved it.
She said the the balance beam was her favorite!

This is her and Silas going across the bars. I thought their little tushies in the air was so cute!

Casady swinging away! She really had so much fun. I love to watch her try out new, fun things!

Hang Time

We were outside play a few nights ago and the kiddos thought that it would be fun to just hang on the basketball goal. So I held them up there and they would count how long the could stay on. I would make them laugh and make it harder to hang on. It was so cute watching them get the giggles while trying with all their might to hang on!!! The things we do for fun!!!

Game Day

It is officially OU football time and we are super excited. We have been waiting for a long time for it to start. Dawson and David got to go to the first game against North Texas. Dawson of course, had a great time. Casady and I watched the game on tv. I had Casady jumping up and down and yelling OU..OU every time we scored.(which was often) We can't wait for the rest of the season!!

Pump It Up

The kiddos got to go to Pump It Up with our good friends Thomas and Silas last week. They all just jumped and jumped and jumped!!!! I know that they would have stayed there all night it we would have let them!
Here is Casady bouncing around.

This I think was their favorite part...the huge slide. They came down every way possible. Feet first, head first, sideways...you name it they tried it. This is what we like to call the spread eagle.

Dawson did the same thing. He was doing some pretty cool tricks down the slide.

Dawson's First Fantasy Draft

Dawson has been waiting for ever to do a fantasy draft. He has even practiced with mock drafts on espn.com! So we have a McKinney family league and Dawson is very excited about it. On draft night he decided he would get in full football gear. And he went through his football cards and picked out all the players that he really wanted on his team. He was super cute to watch. He did get a good team!

Jewelry Store

Casady and I were trying to think of something fun to do today. Since she LOVES jewelry so much I told her we would go to the jewelry store. So I sent her to her room for a little while so I could set everything up. I told her to bring her purse so she could purchase some jewels. We had necklaces, bracelets, rings and watches to choose from. She wanted to take turns on being the sales lady and shopper. I think she enjoyed being the sales lady more because she got to use her cash register to check me out!! It was a fun morning.

First Day of 1st Grade

Dawson has been pretty excited to be in the first grade. He woke up extra early and got all dressed for the day. Isn't he handsome!

Here he is ready to leave. He got a new red lunch box that he thinks is so cool. He did not want to carry his Batman one from last year!

Casady was not real pleased that Bubba was leaving for the day. I guess we have to get back in a routine with just the two of us. She will definitely miss him.

Back to school trip

David had been planning a surprise "back to school" trip for Dawson for awhile. On Friday I packed Dawson's suitcase and hid it until David came home that afternoon. Then David told him that he might need to put on his Rangers t-shirt for his surprise. Dawson figured out that they were on their way to Texas to watch the Rangers play. David let him ride in the front seat all the way there. Which he really loved! Dawson said it was the best day ever. This is them before they left. You can tell by Dawson's smile that it was a great trip!

First manicure

Casady loves to have her nails and toenails painted. This however is a very special manicure. Her Nana took her on a date last week to the beauty shop to get her nails done. She has never done that before and Nana said she loved it. She just sat there and smiled the whole time. It is hard to see, but she had little flowers painted on her nails. She felt very special!

Twister Time

David had told Dawson about the game twister and how much fun it is. So Dawson bought it this week and loves playing it. So does Casady as you can see!! Dawson is very good at it. I just love listening to them giggle as they try to figure out the best spot. David and I played a few games with the kiddos and soon realized that we are not a flexible as we used to be!!
