Merry Christmas 2008!!

We had a fantastic holiday!! The weather was great for all our travels, although Mason has decided he'd rather watch movies in the car than sleep now. He did pretty well considering his naps were all over the place! He didn't "get" opening presents until the very end of his 2nd Christmas celebration, but then he wanted to open everyone else's gifts!! He sure got a TON of stuff.....the next trick is figuring out where it all will go! Thank you to everyone for a WONDERFUL Christmas!

Our First Born.......

I got this survey from my blogger buddy Jenny!!! How fun!

Survey about your First Born-

1. Were you married at the time? Yup, for almost 2 years when we found out I was pregnant!
2. What were your reactions? So very excited!!!!
3. How old were you? 29
4. How did you find out you were pregnant? I took a test!!!
5. Who did you tell first? Matt of course. Then we didn't tell anyone for a long time until we told our parents via card in the mail!!
6. Did you want to find out the sex? Yes.......we both were so excited to that we went for an early ultrasound via matt's work at 16 weeks! Just in time for Christmas!
7. Did you deliver early or late? One week early!
8. Did you have morning sickness? Nope. I was lucky. A little nausea at times, couple gagging moments when I brushed my teeth, but nothing major!
10. Who irritated you the most? ?? I have no idea!!!
11. What was your first child's sex? Boy!
12. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? Do I really have to answer this?? 40 lbs exactly. I ate everything in sight. :(
13. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? None at all.
14. Where did you give birth? At a hospital. ;)
15. How many hours were you in labor? Well, in hindsight, it was probably about 5 hrs. I had some "cramping" that I now know were contractions at 1 pm. I KNEW I was in labor at 4 pm. Mason was born at 6:32 pm.
16. Who drove you to the hospital? Matt. We had the crazy, stereo-typical, frantic dad, drive to the hospital!! We were nervous I'd give birth on the way!
17. Who watched? Matt, nurses, our doctor.
18. Was it natural or c-section? I delivered vaginally with no epidural. Not by choice.
19. Did you take medicine to ease the pain? I had some Nubain after the delivery.
20. How much did your child weigh? 7 lbs, 10 oz.
21. Did your child have any complications? None at all, he wanted OUT!!!
22. What did you name him/her? Mason Gus
23. How old is your first born today? Almost 19 months!!!

stay tuned.....

I feel completely handcuffed without being able to properly use my computer. I have some cute and funny things to share, but am unable to. **Sigh** Santa will be arriving the week of Cristmas with a bright and shiny new computer! According to the rep at Dell, the reason our computer is acting up is, "it's just old". (I'm shaking my head and rolling my eyes...) So, let's continue our trip down memory lane. A year ago, Mason was "army-crawling" everywhere. I remember this day.....I had gotten tired of taking his pants on and off to change his diaper, so I just left them off! Aren't those thighs to DIE FOR??? I could seriously just squeeze the heck out of them!!! :)

stupid computer.

For those of you that care or even look at this blog, I'm sorry I haven't updated in a while. Our stupid computer is not cooperating at all. It will not recognize any USB port at all, so that means no pictures uploading, no video, nothing coming onto our computer at all. This dumb thing has been nothing but a headache for us for a while now, but who really wants to buy a new computer for Christmas?? How un-fun. Maybe if I write a letter to Santa one will magically appear on our doorstep.....?? So let's take a trip down memory lane. This was exactly one year ago today. Aww....what a cutie pie. Amazing what a difference a year makes!!!

18 months.

I'm not sure where the last 6 months have gone. It seems like literally yesterday that we were singing, "Happy Birthday Mason". Now he's talking in real words, following directions, playing with other kids, testing mom and dad-all part of the growing up I guess. I've always felt like 18 months was the mark when they really weren't BABIES anymore, but little kids. This feels bittersweet! I love and feel proud of the little guy Mason is becoming. He has SUCH a great personality. Each new milestone is more fun and wonderful than the last!

November moments!

Fun wrestle time with Dad!

From this:
to this in 9 seconds!
Mason was a little tearful after a horrendous Blankie overboard incident during his nap. I was trying to take some pictures of his despair when I must have made him laugh. The timer on my camera literally had the difference in the shot as 9 seconds!

Blankie overboard is an occasional occurrence that happens at naptime. He plays and rolls around for a while before he goes to sleep, sometimes flinging Blankie out of the crib. He'll fall asleep okay, but if he stirs and Blankie is not inside.....look out. I will hear the desparate wails and sobs of "BLANKIE OVERBOARD"!!!!! The nap is over and he needs rescued. He usually is happy once again once Blankie is returned, but today he must have known that the Oscars are around the corner. He was shooting for Best Actor in a Supporting the Blankie role. :)

What's brown and white and STINKS all over??

RUBY!!!! Matt and Ruby went hunting over the weekend and Ruby got directly sprayed by a SKUNK!!! Ewww.....TOTALLY gross! We tried bathing/scrubbing her with a peroxide/baking soda/detergent combo and a bleach/water combo. Neither took the stink away. She wasn't happy about sleeping in the garage last night, but she survived.
So $45 and a trip to the doggie day spa later....she was all fresh and clean. Clean ears, no stickers, trimmed nails, a new collar, and no skunk smell!! Poor girl is tuckered out. She couldn't keep her eyes open on the way home!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The West

Your accent is the lowest common denominator of American speech. Unless you're a SoCal surfer, no one thinks you have an accent. And really, you may not even be from the West at all, you could easily be from Florida or one of those big Southern cities like Dallas or Atlanta.

Halloween 2008!

Matt and I had a pumpkin carving contest! Sorry these pictures are a little blurry! I did mine in honor of Mason, our pirate! :)
I think Matt won! The trick-or-treaters confirmed it!! He's good with the detail work!
Mason went as a lion!! He had the roar down pat, but apparently got stage fright and wouldn't do it at the door! Here he is getting ready to go out! I promise he didn't hate his costume as much as it looks like....I just can't get him to smile on cue right now!
Enjoying some of his loot. He and Matt went to a few houses on our block. He really didn't get it, but he did like putting stuff into his bag!
Trying to steal some of our candy for his bag. It was such a NICE night that we just sat outside and enjoyed the trick or treaters! I think Mason had just as much fun watching everyone as he did going to houses!
And, sucker #2. As you can see, he was NOT going to be distracted.

Mason showing his skills again!

ARGH MATEY!

Mason's lazy eye has gotten a little worse, so yesterday the eye doctor had us start patching his eye. He did GREAT on Day 1, so we'll see how he does on Days 2-60! Isn't he the cutest pirate you've ever seen?? :) I need to return that lion costume for Halloween.......!
