Meet the Newest Arrington
ficially announced on here that Mindy was expecting, well she was and just to get a time frame on our neglect, Tuesday night, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Our little joy was a mere 5 pds 11 oz and 18 inches long. ( i still can't believe that was a pound more than my niece Adah) She gave us a bit of a scare with jaundice, low blood sugar, and regulating her temperature, but even through it all she brought both of us Joy like we had never experienced. Those of you who are parents know what i'm talking about. There is no way to describe the love that is felt without actually experiencing it first hand. Something just changes, and you realize you would do anything to ensure their happiness and safety, even at the cost of your own. It is the closest i can come to comprehending the love that our Heavenly Father has for us, and to further understand how much he cherishes each of us. Our little girl (Elsie Joy) really is our heart and joy.

The Gift of Flight
Hey there all. In the fall Mindy and I had the incredible opportunity to go flying in a go-cart.. yup you read right, flying in a go-cart. It is called a "powered parachute," and basically is a go-cart, with a giant fan on the back and attached to a parachute. Beats me how that works, pretty sure it's black magic, but we went for it an
Slackers
Wow, where to begin. As you can see we have been a bit, well, lax in our blogging duties, and obviously much has happened since our last posting about 7 or so months ago. Mindy is off the scooter and walking all by herself now, (sniff) we're so proud (sniff.) She is currently going to school for her masters in violin performance her at the U. Come to find out Clint had a little ankle break of his own, (hairline fracture) but was exceptionally tough as always. HA. between his knees and the ankle he often feels like a 92 year old man, especially when stairs are involved. We have now been married just over a YEAR!!!! Crazy how fast time goes. I love ya sweets. I will try and split some some posts and pics now by theme-ish kinda format, and hope you enjoy, well actually i hope you have something better to do than check out our lowly blog, but since you're here anyway, cheers.

Bridging the Generation Gap

So what ensues in the life of a one legged Mindy.....well, saying one legged isn't quite fair to the scooter that has now replaced my right leg and has become the greatest conversation starter of all time. (I am afraid I will be adding lots of these little side comments, so gear up for more interspersed throughout, most will probably be little asides telling you how wonderful Clint is) A prime example of the spontaneity the scooter provides is an incident at the Salt Lake Ethnic Festival. So cast your mind...booths of food ranging from Thai to Swiss, stages with dancers and music from many different cultures, and last but not least the workshop booth where we learned how to make Hindi threshold paintings. Well, while "walking" (and by walking we all know I mean scooting while Clint takes one for the team and walks for the both of us) an older woman, about 70ish approached me and asked me if I could do her a favor. "Of course" was my response and then she informed me that her husband who was manning a booth around the corner also had a scooter. However although he protested to her comments that there were better scooters out there, he stood firm by his belief that his scooter was the best darn thing there was. My job was to zoom by his stand multiple times, then stealthily go to the booth and just peruse in the hopes he would notice the shining beacon of awesome scooterness that I had, which as plan A was destined to go should inspire him to want one. Well, plan B is what happened, and while "standing" at the booth the cute older woman approached me and said very loudly, "My what a nice scooter you have there." This quickly brought the attention of her husband and I was then guided through the reasons why his scooter was the best while we cross examined with the swiveling features of my latest model. All I can say is that this experience has really helped me connect with the older generation:)

The Ankle Update
Exciting news regarding a little one in the fixin!!!!! That's right, you guessed it! it just a mere 10 weeks (hard to see it now) Mindy will once again have two weight bearing ankles. Mindy's Fibula, the smaller bone in the shin along with several ligaments that were, according to the Doc. "shreded" are healing nicely. Yesterday she was able to get her GIANT-colossal-mega-man/moon-boot (no exxxxaaaaagggggeeeerrrraaaattttiiiioooonnnnssss) off and replaced with a "walking boot" which boots ironically are not made for walking. Thanks for all of the well wishing and such. peace out.
