Whitney and Dan's Wedding - 8/14/09

Image
My sister Danene's oldest got married on August 14 th - the first wedding on my side of the family. They were married in the Winter Quarters Temple which is about 3 hours north of where they live in Shawnee, Kansas. Whitney married Daniel Condie and oh, how cute they are! As soon as Whitney announced her engagement I quickly made plans to be there. Scott took the week off so I could leave the kids with him and go help my sister. It was nice to be there without kids to completely help do whatever Danene needed me to do! We had fun too! We spent the entire night before the wedding putting together the boutonnieres , corsages and the bridal bouquet. My other sister Dianne has major art skillz ...she did this drawing of one of their engagement pictures. Very nice! My sister in law, Suzie putting together an under-water floral arrangement for the cake table Her colors were black and white - these black and white daisies were so cool At the temple I had fun taking TONS of ...

While Mom's Away...

The Boys Will PLAY!! I was a huge supporter of this event and was sorely disappointed that I had to miss it! The Shamrock Farms Elder's Quorum Pinewood Derby was held on August 15, 2009. I'm so glad there was this video made so I could see. I really wanted to see all these BIG BOYS having fun with their TOYS!! The only rule given to the BOYS was NO FIRE. Other than that - the sky was the limit! I hope this becomes an annual event - I want to see it in person next time! Thanks to Lance Foster for the video

Whitney's Shower - 8/4/09

The oldest grandchild on my (Felshaw) side got married on August 14, 2009. She had a Bridal Shower on August 4th. I wasn't able to be there physically but I did make sure that I was there in spirit and represented by a great gift and story. More than 15 years ago, I was engaged and given a Bridal Shower. I got all the usual stuff - towels, place settings, bowls, utensils - but I also got the other usual stuff that's embarrassing to hold up in front of all those giggling ladies. I was given one in particular that when I held it up, Whitney (then 4 years old and so dang cute!) yelled out, "That dress is too small for Auntie Pammy! She should give it to me!" We had a great laugh! Fast forward to August 4th and Whitney's very own Bridal Shower. I decided that she did need to have that "too small dress" and I sent it along with a letter explaining and a picture. I also included a NEW "too small dress" of her own so she's not stuck with ...

Swimming Lessons '09

Image
I taught swim lessons again this year! Last year ('08) I taught as well, at my good friend Trish's house. This year my good friend Sherrie offered up her backyard for the fun. I have such amazing friends to let me take over their backyards for 8 weeks! Allowing 30-40 kids and their families run rampant in those backyards everyday, for that long! That's over 100 kids and their families over that 8 weeks!! Someday... *long far off look*... we'll have our own pool in our own backyard. Until then...again, I have FANTASTIC friends. This was the 2 nd year that I taught swimming lessons. Since I'm always busy teaching AND in the pool full of water, I'm not able to take pictures! I asked a Mom of a couple of my swimmers to take some for me and my Shamrock Swim site. I'll be adding these pics to that site on a later date. Thanks, Jen, for these fabulous shots!
