Illegal Root Beer

Gavin bursting through the door after school: "Mom! Did you know that root beer is illegal? It's illegal AND you can only drink it until your twenty-one! We learned that in Health class today."

Who knew that root beer was only legal until you were twenty-one? I am so breaking the law.

Wrestling

Jared was a wrestler in High School. He's trying to teach the kids the basics. Here are a series of pictures of the kids trying to pin Jared on his back. Never happened.

Tessa's Art

Corbin drew Tessa a picture and sent it in the mail to her. She drew this picture of Corbin and sent it to him. He asked me if he could color it. Let me think...um....NO! We framed it instead and hung it in the dining room.

One of the ideas in the deployment book we received from the Army was to have each family memeber pick one of the soldiers shirts and stuff them to make pillows. Here is Jared sewing them up for us.

Here's the finished product. Now we all have a reminder of Jared that we can snuggle with while he's gone.

Random Sampler

Boys shopping at Sams. This has got to be the greatest cart for kids.

Here are the bald eagles we saw at McDonalds in downtown Eagle River. There were about seven of them. This is probably the second time in my life that I've seen a bald eagle in real life.

Jared turning 31!

Here are the boys ready for the festivities.

Dad showcasing his presents.

Dad opening his first present.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you....Blow out those candles!

From me, a dvd collection about each president. I love the things that Jared watches. He's always learning something. His favorite channels are History Channel, Science Channel, Discovery Channel, etc.

From Asher, the next book in the Eragon series.

From Corbin, one of Dad's favorite magazines.

From Gav, the new Malcolm Gladwell book, Outliers.

Here's the card we gave Jared. Highly inappropriate but fun. Hee hee.
