Cowgirl Paula

I was reminded of how I use to play dress up when I posted the pictures of the girls below. I was always dressed up funny. This was my favorite at age 5. One of the last pictures of me before we moved to Overton. Hope its good for a laugh...

Grandpa Dee

This picture was taken when Grandpa was working at the Lost City Muesum.

Grandpa Dee, I don't remember a whole lot about him. I was only 8 when he passed away. But one of my favorite memories is when he used to tease Grandma Percy. Grandma would bring him dinner on a TV tray, always with a coke in a glass with ice. He would tell us kids to watch him make Grandma yell, then he would pick up the glass with his palsied hand and make the ice tinkle against the sides of the glass. This for some reason would drive Grandma crazy. She would yell, "Dee I told you not to use your bad hand, put the glass down before you spill it". Grandpa would just sit there with the biggest, cheesiest grin on his face and us kids would giggle until our sides hurt. I think he did it every time she brought him a coke. I think if I was Grandma I would have found a plastic cup or maybe Grandma liked the teasing? Hmmm... makes ya wonder?

Spring Break at the Sprague Compound

Jamie, Bethany, Trinity & Tiffany, dressed up in some funny constumes.
Not sure what they are supposed to be, but they seem to be having a good time.

Roman riding his imaginary charge into battle, with his hell hound BEOWOLF "wolfie" to help him defeat the bad guys.

What a ragtag group of kids. Whats vacation for if you cant be lazy and just enjoy being with your cousins.

Grandma Sprague

Grandma Percy was such a wonderful women. We were so
lucky to have her live so close to us while we were growing up.
There are so many great memories for me of her.
When I was around 8, I begged her to teach me how
to crochet. I mean I would not leave the poor women
alone until I had mastered the single crochet and was able
to make my first crocheted blanket for my baby doll. She was
always very patient with me and I don't remember her ever
getting cross. I admired that about her.

Another memory my Aunt Jessie shared with me was how much Grandma loved babies. She was never happier than when she was cuddling a baby. I think I inherited that trait.
I love babies...

Grandma was always my "port in the storm". When my mom started working after dad got hurt my "big" brothers (you know who you are), would try and get me to cook for them. I was like 12, hello, I didn't know how to cook. So I would sneak out the back door and run to grandma's. She always welcomed me in and gave me treats. She would say, "what are those boys wanting now?" he he

I am so grateful for all the life skills she taught me. Crochet, cooking, making divinity and keeping her husband in line. (well kinda).

I loved her and miss her still...

Its really hard to catch Phil sitting still. I had to reach way... back. I think he is around 1yr in this picture.
I am always amazed at how talented and resourceful you are Phil. Will you come visit soon? I have some "honey do's" that need doing. JK...

Sisters

Kathy, Paula and Terry.

My protectors, my second mom's and now my friends. Thanks for always looking out for me and always taking me along(even when mom and dad made you). I learned so much from both of you. Kathy, you taught me to cook stir fry and Turkey. Terry, you taught me how to sew and bake. But most of all you both showed me how to be a good mom to my children. Thank you for all your love and support over the years. I love you both.

Uncle Pal

Uncle Pal has always been one of my favorite people. Besides being named after him, he always makes me smile. One of my favorite stories of him is his hair. I would ask him almost every time I saw him how he got his hair to grow that way and he would tell me he ate dog biscuits. Then he would try and get me to try one. Of course being a girl I didn't want my hair that way and that's what I would say in return. I love you Uncle Pal and my prayers are with you.
