Christmas Present Happiness

Laney and Whitney got these stuffed animals that are so long, and they love them.  They are caterpillars that are longer then 6 ft.  They have been sleeping with them wrapped around there sleeping area.  They are crazy girls.

Nick got this new suit for Christmas and I might be bias but I think he looks fantastic

Whitney got this lego for Christmas. It took Whitney and Brandon a good 7+ hours to do.  It was a good project to do throughout the holidays.

Christmas 2014

Santa came again, I am shocked everytime!!  The kids got up at 4:45am to open Christmas.  I said "no, go back to bed".  So, Brandon and I slept for another 40 minutes.  Then at 5:40 it was up and at them.  They woke up Baca and Grandma and let the opening frenzy begin.  They all seemed pretty happy with the gift and everyone had a good morning. Laney and Whitney got huge stuffed animal catepillars, that were what they have been begging for.  They also got Ipad minis.  Nick got a punching bag, games, fist tank, and an Olaf (because people at school think he looks like Olaf).  It finally snowed after 40-60 degree weather for months.  They were all excited.  Baca and Grandma left around 7:30ish and Bran and I went back to bed.

We went to the Keller family for our morning of omlettes present opening.  The kids played put legos together and just hung out.  Brandon started to feel like poo so he slept.  Laney's late night and early morning caught up to her too, and she turned into a vegetable.

Then off to Grandma Jo and Baca Steves for more opening of gifts.  By this time Laney is feverish and feels so yucky, Brandon's cold is in full force.  We only stay for dinner and presents.  I felt bad leaving in such a hurry.  Besides that I left my phone and camera at the Keller's so I did not have any way of documenting the night.  I was super sad.  Bummer for the Young's they got jipped off.  Little Lily, Iris, and Oliver were the cutest.  Nick loved holding Iris, she had a yucky cold too.

Run Run..everything is closed except Walgreen's

So, as before mentioned I was not in the Christmas Spirit this year.  On Christmas Eve day Brandon said we should probably count presents to make sure it is kind of even.  I said, "we are fine".  Christmas eve night Brandon and I started to wrap presents.  Well,  Laney and Whitney only had a Santa gift and 2 small presents.  I was a little shocked.  So, at 11:45 Brandon and I went to find some stores that were open.  Well, nothing but Walgreens.  We ended up with about 70 other people not prepared for Christmas.  It was a good adventure.  And when we got home the kids were still awake.

Christmas Eve

We did our usual.  Decorated gingerbread's while Brandon was at work.  We also made sugar cookies for Santa.  Then it was off to the windows at Grand America, dinner at Baca's and Grandma Jo's, then a movie.  I was not in the grandest of moods. (Side note: This season I have had a hard time finding any joy.  I don't really know why, but Brandon did most of the shopping.  I didn't start until Dec 23, when Bran asked me to go with him.  I have been grumpy, grouchy, onry, you name it I was).  One reason for this was as we were leaving to meet at Grand America my transmission in my car decided to go out.  BOO!! So, I did not take any pictures, thanks again to Grandma Jo I have a few pics thanks to her.  We went and saw Night in the Museum 3.  It was hilarious.  Baca and Grandma Jo joined us.  Then they were good troopers and slept over because the kids begged.

Service That Is What It Is All About

For Christmas this year I really felt like my kids should do some service.  They didn't even complain they were really excited.  They even wanted to bring friends.  So, Brandon took off work and we picked up all the kids and were off to Ogden.  A neighbor from Woods Cross works at the Catholic Community Center and said they always need volunteers.  When we showed up they were so relieved they had no volunteers for that day.  Nick and his friend Jayman got to actually help homeless people shop for food. Nick helped a blind man.  The girls and I and Brandon were stuck in the 'warehouse' sorting donated food.  It was fun and impressive the amount of food they had.  The kids had a really good time and everyone was happy.  I think this will be a new tradition.

pj party

We had our annual PJ party with the Keller's.  We were a little late due to the Young Christmas party.  We still got in on the fun of pictures and family time.  My family had a hard time getting a serious picture.  Which is ok with me as long as everyone is happy!

Young party

We went to the Young party.  That party is always in interesting one.  You see the Young side of the family was always my favorite.  I have fond memories of how fun and exciting it was.  I love those childhood memories, and they are some that I will cherish.  Now it is awkward going.  This family doesn't speak to that family.  This person doesn't know this person.  This family member took money from these family members.  It is weird.  The good thing is we still get together.  Ruthanne and David are so kind to always host it, and deal with the mess we all leave.  Grandma Jo is always good at getting us great gifts for the Santa bag.  This year we missed Jeff and Clan they were all home with the Yucks.  Santa always comes, this year Santa had to draw straws.  The winner this year was an awesome Santa.
P.S I failed this year and didn't bring my camera so thanks for the pics Grandma Jo

Breakfast with Santa

We were all suppose to go and have Breakfast with Santa.  Except Nick was suppose to go to a swim meet, and Whitney had Frodsham Farms'.  So, Grandma Jo in all of her awesomeness took Laney.  Jeff and Brooke with the kids, and Grandma Jo and Laney went. They had a grand ole time and I think it was really fun.  Laney loves spending one on one time with Grandma Jo.  She really is the best and spends any extra seconds she has in her life with her grandkids.  I love her for that.  I know that my kids will benefit from this relationship their whole life.  I once read an article about kids that have at least one active grandparent in their life have a better chance of not being promiscuous and getting involved with drugs and alcohol.  So, hopefully this fact is true, and thanks to Grandma Jo my kids will be better off.

Christmas Program

Laney's class had a Christmas Program they sang the traditional Christmas songs, nontraditionally.  They turned all of the songs into Christmas' about cats and dogs.  Notice they are all wearing animal ears.  They were pretty cute.  Of course there was a slide show with Laney and Daisy in it!
