Photo fun!
A friend of mine wanted me to take some pictures of her daughter in her baptism dress. She was darling and loved the camera. It was so much fun. Here are a few of the pictures that I took
I left just enough color in this one so the yellow flowers stand out.
This is one of those pictures that just looks better as black and white.
A little casual but very sweet

Woo Hoo!! My name was chosen.

Wow!! It looks like another hot summer of running. My name was chosen in the St. George Marathon Lottery. The really cool thing, besides the fact that my girlfriend from Boise is also training for this and we will meet up the day before the race, but my daughter Hailey who lives in Utah is also going to run in it. Everyone is so much faster than me but that is not why I run it, so I'm cool with that. Yesterday I bought my new running shoes. I really liked mine from last year so I bought another pair, "the new and improved Asics Kayano Gel". Training in the heat of Arizona is pretty tricky especially on the long run each week. It increases each week and by about July I have to run it starting at 4:30am. I meet a girlfriend at the high school track for safety reasons and we begin counting laps. After about mile 8 and around 6:15am (85degrees)I have to drive to the Gym and finish on the treadmill. Nothing worse than forgetting which lap it is so this year I am buying a really cool Garmin to help me with that. Well, the bad part when I train is I can't stop talking about it so I hope that you won't get too bored with my blog for the next four months. My favorite runs last year were at my brother's beach house. Running in the morning with the cool sea waves splashing on the beach was just plain awsome!!! Not to mention ending with my shoes off and standing in the cold ocean up to my knees was amazing. I will always remember that week.

Another Marathon!!!
My friend Katie invited me to run in the St George marathon with her this year. I ran in it last year and promised myself that it would probably be the only one. I am not a "runner" I just like the fact that I can still do it. Anyway, I decided to do it again this year with her. Last year I ran it by myself and it was intimidating but, so much fun. The training is where all of the hard work is. Anyway it's a lottery so we'll see if we get picked or not. If not she wants me to run in a different one with her so I laced up my running shoes and here I go again. I've been a slacker runner lately and it's interesting to realize the change of heart that I have when I actually have a goal in mind.
