Seriously, Another Evacuation???

Not only did my parents have to evacuate earlier this week...My sister, Bryn, and her husband, Mark, are now having to evacuate. They live in New Orleans. Hurricane Gustav is coming for them. They were there for Hurricane Katrina and lost almost everything! Now it looks like hurricane number two for them. They are saying this hurricane is a level 4, and Katrina was a level 5. They are evacuating people nonetheless! Bryn and Mark have already left and now are in Florida. Wish them well and keep them in your prayers!

Fire Evacuation! / Safe and Sound

Just a Quick update...As of 8:00 last night the wind shifted and they let all of the homeowners back into their houses. The fire is contained, but the smoke is the problem now. Everything reeks of smoke, and everything is covered in ash. All in all, everyone is safe! Thank you Firemen!!!
I got these pictures from Tyler Stark's blog. The Starks live right by my parents in Draper. As most of you know the mountain in Draper is on fire. They have evacuated Starks, My Parents, and other neighbors as well. My parents have not actually left, even though they were supposed to. They want to make sure everything is well at home. They said they will leave when they absolutely have to. As of 7:30pm, they still see flames out their windows. The planes keep dropping the fire retardant on the fire, but the wind picks up and so do the flames. Please pray for them and their neighbors!

If I Were a Disney Princess, This is Who I Would Be! (I guess!)

I saw this On my friend Jamie's blog. I took the little quiz and this is what it said...

You Are Jasmine!

Independent and adventurous. You don't want much; just to break out of the guilded cage society has put you in and experience life to the fullest. Following orders isn't really one of your strong points, and you would rather live a life of poverty than being forced into something that you hate.

Which Disney Princess Are You?
Pretty close! HaHaHa!

We Didn't Win :(

Oakley's picture was on Roughin' It Outdoors, Saturday night. It was so super cute...but we didn't win. When they showed her picture, they kind of "beefed up" the story a bit. They said that Bryce caught the fish, that he had a great time reeling in the fish... When Bryce sent the picture in, all he said was, "This is my daughter Oakley standing next to a huge stripper caught at Lake Powell. My daughter is 40 inches tall and the fish still towers her. The fish weighed in at 28 pounds."
So, if anyone saw the show, Bryce did not catch the fish! All we did was take a picture of Oakley with some guy's fish! Hahaha!

They didn't tell us if we won or not, we have to watch to find out. If we do win, we win an outdoor grill! hahaha! So watch if you want! :)

Reunion!!!

Last night I was able to attend my 10 high school reunion! I seriously can't believe how fast time has gone. I still feel like I'm some sort of high school drop out. I still have dreams that I forgot my locker combination, or that I don't have enough credits to graduate... stuff like that! What is funny, is that in real life I never once forgot my locker combo, nor did I ever have to worry about graduating! I wasn't sure if I really wanted to go...the thought of going, seeing people that I haven't spoken to in 10 years, and the idea that I might be judged, didn't sound all that appealing to me. I finally decided, Friday night, what the heck. I'm not the only girl who's hips have spread, boobs sunk, stomach not exactly flat due to child bearing... So why not? Let me just say, "I had a blast!" It was way more fun than I thought it was going to be! Everyone had changed, and for the better! (I thought) Yeah, yeah, there were still those people that thought they were everything back then, still thinking that they are all that now, but most everybody had a pretty good head on their shoulders! It was just really fun to see the change. To anyone questioning if they should go to their reunions, GO! Why not?
I do have to add a little shout out to Bryce, Thank you, Thank you for coming with me. Bryce said that he would go if I wanted to go. In the car 0n the way up, Bryce expressed his true feelings about going to my reunion. He said, "I would rather get a prostate exam, than go to the reunion!" Well, too late, the money had already been paid, we had to go. Bryce did great, he actually was civil towards ex-boyfriends and all! I was actually very impressed by him! Me, Misty, Kelli
Some good old friends!
P.S. I was informed at the reunion that I didn't update my blog enough (Joey) So, my goal is to update at least twice a week if you do!

We Have An Announcement!

Drum roll please !!!
We have a new addition to our family! That is right we got a pet fish! What did you think I was going to say?!?! Hahaha! The girls have been bugging me forever to get a pet. Since I am not exactly a pet person, well, I thought a fish wouldn't be too much work! So there you have it, a fish named Sara! :)
Not the best picture, but it works! The fish is a Betta fish, and apparently, you can not kill them! They are supposed to be very hardy fish! PERFECT!

Kaybree and Her New Bike!

Kaybree had her training wheels on for all of two minutes! She wanted them off, then on, then off again! Now she is a pro! She boogies up and down the sidewalk like she's been riding forever!

Kaybree's First Day of Kindergarten!

Today was Kaybree's first day of kindergarten! I can't believe how grown up she is! I thought I was totally prepared to send her off, boy was I wrong! I cried like a baby! I woke up this morning from a very restless sleep thinking, "this is it! She is ready! I can't believe that kindergarten took this long to get here!" I left the school this afternoon thinking, "this is it, she will never be this little ever again! Did I teach her enough? Love her enough?" Then that little poem came into my head...
Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small
and always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls.
But everyday I'm growing-I'll be grown up someday.
And all those tiny prints will surely fade away.
So here's a final hand print just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small.
Kaybree is such a joy to our family. She has so much love in her heart. She is a very special little soul! Love you lots punkin!

Girls Weekend!

Last Friday, my Mom's side of the family girls all went down to St. George for a girls trip! We had some serious fun! These are the only pics I have, they aren't that great, but they'll do! We left on Friday morning, and were able to go to Tuacan that night. We saw "The Sound of Music" It was fabulous! I couldn't believe the heat though! We were rolling up our shorts as much as possible and pouring water in unmentionable places just trying to cool ourselves down! After the play, we decided to go get some ice cream. We walked into Smith's at 12:02 am and guess what awaited us??? Breaking Dawn! They had tons of copies and not a soul around! We all started screaming and running toward the poor guy who was unpacking them! He said they didn't even advertise that they were getting them! Talk about the right place at the right time! We went back to our hotel rooms and refreshed each other's memories on the last events in Eclipse! The rest of the trip we shopped, and ate, and ate, and ate some more! Saturday, we went to this fun little pottery place called Brushfire and painted out own plates, mugs, platters, etc. It was a lot of fun! Brooke, My Mom, and My Aunt Terry
Soon to be Cousin-in-Law Brittany, Cousin Dallas, and Aunt Tina
This is the whole crew at Brushfire!
