We've All Aged So Well, Haven't We?

I think there were around 65 people at the reunion, which is not a bad turn-out considering we started with a 15-year old contact list! Try tracking down 300-some-odd people with phone numbers dating back to 1993. It's not easy. Anyway, I think everyone had a good time. I tried to get pictures of as many people as possible, but everyone seemed to be spread out between the banquet room, the bar, and the deck. If you didn't make the highlight reel...well, I'm sorry. I guess you should've come inside for some fresh air!

The cakes made by Teressa Poling Newcome. Yes, that is our class graduation picture. Can you believe she and Chip found it?

It's Over???

Well now, that's kind of a let-down. It'll be at least another 5 years until we do this again! If you weren't there, then you missed out, and you really need to plan to make the next one. If you were there, then I hope you had a great time. I know I had the time of my life, that I never felt that way before. Yes, I swear, it's the truth. And I owe it all to you! OK, so I stole that from "Dirty Dancing," but the sentiment is genuine.

In all sincerity, thank you so much for coming out and making the reunion a success! I think everyone had a good time and enjoyed catching up with one another. It's terrible that we don't see each other but once every 5 or 10 years, but I guess that's one of the perils of getting older.

And I can't thank the committee enough, especially Suzi Thomson Bryant, for all of the hard work that went into planning the reunion. Suzi did a great job of organizing everything, lining up a venue and a menu and whipping the rest of us into shape. Thank you, too, to Teressa Poling Newcome for baking the cakes for the reunion. They were beautiful and delicious (as opposed to any cake I would ever bake, which would be neither beautiful nor delicious).

I'll try to get the pictures I took posted this evening, but if any of you have any pictures that you would like to share, please e-mail them to me.

Tomorrow is the Big Day!

So you're planning to show up, right? Like I said before, be there or be talked about. I'm kidding. We won't talk about you if you're not there. We'll talk about "the people who didn't bother to show up," but we won't talk about you by name.

If you are going to be there, don't forget to bring all your old pictures and yearbooks. I mean, what's a reunion without goofy pictures like this...

...or this...

.

And bring some of that obscure memorabilia you have, too (Ian Felton), like your old wallet-size diploma or your tassel or one of those wasteful little name cards that we all put in our graduation announcements (as if Grandma wasn't going to recognize your face in the senior picture you tucked in the invitation, too). You never know...it could be worth a door prize.

See you tomorrow!

It's Only a Week and a Half Away!

If you have not yet RSVP'd for the reunion, please do so as soon as possible so we can nail down a guest count. So far, we have around 70 people set to attend. That includes classmates and guests. That's not a bad turnout, but wouldn't it be even more fun if we could get another 70 people or so to come out and relive our days on the farm? So if you haven't made your reservation yet, what are you waiting for? And don't forget to pass the word along to all of your friends.

See you in 10 DAYS!

This Card May Be All That Survives This Recession

I cannot believe Ian Felton still has his Round Table card! Now there's a man with a sentimental streak! Don't let Ian down, folks -- come to the reunion August 23, 2008!
