Hiya folks. Just a quick word to apoligise for my lack of posts lately and more importantly apoligise to my fellow bloggers for not invading your blogs & recent posts and commenting. I'm on a bit of a lull at the moment but enjoying a break from blogging. So much hassle blogging anything this end due to uploading problems,stupid bloody itunes taking 20 minutes to convert one song. Its all one big hassle so I'm leaving it til after the New Year now. I really cannot be bothered and I'm enjoying doing other things which are much less trouble (Watchng Chelsea FC slowly blow their title chances,going out on the beer,downloading movies,moaning about Salomon Kalou etc) At least Christmas shopping is done now,wrapped up,sorted thank God. Now I'm gonna enjoy some more "me-time"

So I'm gonna wish you all a very happy Christmas and a very merry New Year. Have a good one and at worse,a bearable one.

The Stranglers - Rockpalast (1983)

The Stranglers - another much loved band here. This is a 1 hour 26 minute 19 track gig from 83. I would write more but I've got things to do. I won't be doing alot here in the run up to "the big day" to be honest. All I will say is if you are a fan of The Stranglers and haven't got this then geddit.

Suicidal Tendencies - Lights..Camera..Revolution (1990)

Of all the Suicidal Tendecies albums this one is my favourite. When my home got burgled in 2004,nearly all my CD's were nicked but they left the ST's,well all except this one! So maybe those thieves did have some taste. The silly bastards did leave all my vinyl which delighted me but they made up for it by taking most of my other stuff. The highlight of this album is track 1 (You Can't Bring Me Down) which was also a single and is probably my favourite ST's track of all time.

The band were never quite the same when guitarist Rocky George left but they remained a Longy favourite. Rocky wasn't in the original line-up of the band when they started around the 83 period but in my opinion,the band were at their best when he was in them. Some will no doubt disagree with this opinion but thats all it is,an opinion.

Whenever the word "crossover" is mentioned,the Suicidal Tendencies name tends to crop up so if you like your Punk/Thrash/Skate/Hardcore crossover then you'll love this. If you have any sense,then you'll have it already anyway!

Magazine - The Roundhouse,London,22nd October (2009)

This little beauty was screened as part of the BBC's Electric Proms on the Red Button a couple of months ago. If you are anything like me,then you missed it too. Thanks to my friend Graham who kindly send me this disc,you can all see it too. This is not the complete gig,only what was on TV so its 36 minutes and 9 songs in which the band were performing selected A and B sides. Needless to say,this is quality of the highest order.

The World Cup Draw 2010

Group A - South Africa,Mexico,Uruquay,France
Group B - Argentina,South Korea,Nigeria,Greece
Group C - England,USA,Algeria,Slovenia
Group D - Germany,Australia,Ghana,Serbia
Group E - Holland,Japan,Cameroon,Denmark
Group F - Italy,New Zealand,Paraquay,Slovakia
Group G - Brazil,North Korea,Ivory Coast,Portugal

Well the World Cup draw has been done tonight and England got a great draw in my opinion. We should win the group easily and I expect USA to join us by grabbing 2nd in the group. What does everyone think of the draw? Are you happy with your country's draw? (Russians,Swedes,Scots need not answer :-)

Group G looks a differcult one for sure and the hosts South Africa's group won't be easy to call. Other than that I think its pretty straightforward and I expect all the top seeded countrys except maybe South Africa to go through.

Who's going to win it? I'm actually going to give everyone a good laugh now and tip Argentina. They have been totally shit in qualifying and manager Maradona hasn't got a clue what he's doing. But they have great players and will be a decent price and are lucky cheating bastards so thats where the Longy pennies are going. For a very remote outside tip, it might be worth putting a couple of quid on Chile too. They'll be a massive price but they'll get through the group stages then knock-out Portugal or the Ivory Coast. Just you watch em!

As for England well after winning the group and beating probably Australia,we'll come up against either France or Mexico. No doubt,we'll get knocked on penaltys either in the last 8 or semi finals. Of course I hope we win it but deep down I know we won't.

The Damned - Finland TV (1981)

A bit more of The Damned for you and I make absolutely no apoligises for that at all as the band are universally loved. This was on Finnish TV back in 1981. It looks like some outdoor festival but I couldn't tell you which one. Just a 12 minute clip at 120mb,only the four songs and not exactly DVD quality but well worth a look.

Boomtown Rats - Live Hammersmith (1978)

Sir Bob is famous for 2 things. 1) Feeding the world 2) Boomtown Rats singer. I admire Bob for getting all those "stars" together and raising all that dosh for the starving people of Africa. Very noble of him. But Sir Bob,theres a load of struggling people up in Cumbria right now who have lost their homes due to terrible flooding. Where are you? Wheres fucking Bono? Give Midge a ring and get off your arse and raise some money for them. Are you just too busy looking after number one?

Anyway before Bob was getting knighted he had quite a good band. Some regarded them as a bit of a joke but I enjoyed some of their stuff especially the early singles so here they are from '78. 51 minutes and 371mb. Use H-J Split to join the files together http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
