This is what Thomas looked like as a baby:

And here's Rennee:

No doubt that they're related :)

And here's a bunch of pictures of our newest addition.  She is such a sweet and mild tempered baby (at least for now...)

Potty Training

For the sake of my Facebook followers, I decided to put this on my blog instead.

Thomas peed on the potty!  He was even wearing a diaper when he told me he needed a treat.  He went and sat on his potty by himself and waited for me to unbutton him and take off his diaper.  Put him back on and within a few seconds it was there!

You must understand my excitement.  For the past four days my life has been like this:  Let him run around naked, set him on the potty, sit there for 40 minutes (I'm not kidding, he sits there FOREVER), let him get up, clean up pee 5 minutes later.  Repeat.

I know that this week is still going to be tough and we might not have success again for a while, but I am so proud of my little man!

Just a Quick Update

Here's a quick update on our life.  We've been pretty busy and blogging got put on the very back burner the past few months.  But, we're all alive and doing well.

My morning sickness is gone!  Hooray!  Now I just go between tired and hungry.  But, it's better than laying on the couch all day.  I've just been keeping busy trying to keep up with Thomas.  We find out what we're having on Valentine's evening.  What a great date!  I'm more excited for Valentine's Day than I ever have been.

Thomas is growing way too fast.  He got his first haircut a few weeks ago and I was the saddest of all of us.  But, he looks like a little boy now instead of a baby.  His new words are "flamingo", "puzzle", and "macaroni".  He's tall enough to get just about anything he wants now.  In fact, he found my stash of pregnancy craved sour gummy worms and brought them to me saying, "One for Tommy, one for Mommy".  Of course, it was more like 10 for Tommy, one for Mommy.  At least he's learning how to share.  He loves to be my helper.  If I do anything that he knows he can help out with I get in big trouble.  He puts laundry away, pushes the chairs around so I can sweep and vacuum, and cleans the walls.  He's sweet.

Steve is keeping super busy with school.  He had Parent Teacher Conferences today which is always a long day for both of us!  He's always such a big help with Thomas and reads to him, plays with him, and bathes him.  Thomas and him do P90X together every night which is HILARIOUS to watch.  Thomas wants to be just like him.

Steve and I switch off every Sunday being in the Nursery (18 month-3 year olds) with another couple in our ward.  It's a lot of work, but rewarding in its own way.  We'll start taking Thomas back to church once RSV season is over.

Keep watching next week to see what the baby is going to be!

I'd Like to Bury My Testimony...

Isn't it too cute when little kids say this?  Steve and I laughed as it was said yesterday.  Sweet kids bearing their testimony of God the Father and Jesus Christ.

But, seriously, how many of us "bury" our testimonies.  Two scriptures came to my mind after these children shared their testimonies.

#1: 2 Tim. 1:7–8
"Be not thou...ashamed of the testimony of our Lord”

#2: 2 Ne. 33:4–6
“I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from hell”

I find myself burying my testimony in fear, complicating my life and not finding time for the plainness of studying the scripture and teaching Thomas the gospel, being surrounded by Satan's lies in the media and even the news.  If I truly "glory in my Jesus" I should not be ashamed of my testimony.

There are many ways to share your testimony.  It doesn't always mean standing up in front of a group of people and publicly proclaiming what you know to be truth.  It can be in the way you live your life as an "example of the believers".  You can use social media to let others know of your beliefs.  But, most important, no matter how you share your testimony, you should do it unashamed and proud.  Glory in Jesus.  Glory in His love for you.

Next time you hear a kid express their desire to "bury" their testimony, ask yourself if you're doing the same thing.
