New Hampshire

Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire.
Back in October Bryan had a photo shoot at this lovely home on the waters edge. I flew out east a few days earlier and stayed at Shauna's house with her family. Shauna and I enjoyed lunch in Greenwhich and I got to see their new home. After my short stay there Shauna dropped me off at the train station where I rode a train from Stamford Connecticut, to Boston where I met up with Bryan at the airport. From there we drove three hours to this beautiful home. We arrived when it was dark and woke up the next morning to a thick fog.
(All of the pictures on this post are from my little camera)
Bryan in his element.
The property was lovely! It even had a little boat house.

We spent a full day taking photos primarily of the inside of the home. (The client was an interior designer and wanted the pictures for her portfolio).
We had dinner at a little local joint that had delicious clam chowder.
We watched "What about Bob?" since the summer home they stay in is supposed to be at Lake Winnipesaukee. That movie is hilarious. If you have never seen it rent it NOW!
We floated in the canoe out on the lake for fun.
And we took in the beautiful scenery and fall leaves of the East.
By the end of my week of traveling I really really missed the kids. It would be so fun for Bryan and I to take the kids there in the summer some day.

Alpine Roller Coaster

This fall we rode the Alpine Roller Coaster at Park City Resort. It was such a blast! We always ride the Alpine Slide, but decided to go on the coaster instead this time.

Homemade Spaghetti!

It is December, but I am posting about this summer's garden.

Here are the children with this years carrot bounty. Things that did well this year that I should plant more of next year are: sunflowers (as always), green beans, carrots, and zucchini. The corn was growing wonderfully until we had an early frost that killed it. :-(

1st Place at the Pinewood Derby!

Bryan and Bentley built the pinewood derby car weeks before the actual derby.
I'm so glad they did because when the time actually came Bryan was in Taiwan and there is no way I could have built a derby car.
Bryan was really bummed that he wasn't there but Bentley was lucky to have the support of Grandma and Grandpa.
His car won every single race it was in that night!
Cecily was his best cheer leader!
And this is the car that smoked all the others.
Winning the derby was such a great surprise for him.
And being the sweet heart that he is
he whispered in my ear that night that he
"feels bad for everybody else because they didn't win."
And he meant it. He is such a sweet heart.

Nerf.

I just love the times when these two play nice together.

Zhu Zhu Pet Feast

Cecily wanted to make sure all of her Zhu Zhu Pets had something to eat when we had dinner so she set this up for them. They joined us for dinner for a few days in a row.

Last Chance Camping

We didn't go camping as much this summer as we would have liked to so one weekend at the end of September (or was it in October?) We took the old camper out for the weekend.
We shot the BB gun

Roasted Marshmallows
Took a hike to Harry's Res.

And built up a really tall fire pit.
Oh and this was one of my first weekends having to STUDY!
Nobody liked that very much.

First day of School 2010/2011

Cecily was willing to pose for the camera on her first day of first grade!
Bentley wasn't willing to pose on his first day of third grade.
This left mom home all day with no kids for the first time in 8 1/2 years.
So I went back to school.
Now I'm a few weeks away from finals and have mixed emotions about being back at school. The kids are growing up way too fast!

Journey to Davis Gulch

Lake Powell 2010

We found a great camp. The water was clear and there was all sorts of hiking and exploring to do. The two white houseboats are where we stayed and the little island behind them was named "turtle island" by all the kids.
We enjoyed our time there (a full week) but were saddened by the news that our uncle Ray had passed away while we were there. We came home a day early just in time to make it to his funeral. Ray Farrell was a great guy, a hard worker and a friend.
At camp the kids swam and swam, did tricks off the water slide, hiked and caught lizards. The adult men watched all kinds of weight lifting videos! Ha ha! But surprisingly they did not have their annual pull up competition...
We all enjoyed the homemade cookies that us ladies had prepared and frozen special for the trip and had some good meals.

Bentley couldn't get enough of jumping off of the houseboat.
Connelly and Bentley

This year we got a new camera that shoots underwater. Here are Audrey, Cecily and Jack.

This cave was very near by our camp. One day we packed our lunch and headed there for a lunch break.

And there was plenty of tubing and tube wars. This is Annabelle and Bentley.
There was a huge rainstorm while we were up the lake exploring. We took refuge in a huge overhang until the storm died down. It was really cool. We saw all kinds of waterfalls formed from the rain.

Bentley picked up some sweet sun glasses at Dangling Rope.

And the girls played their polly pockets together.
Lake Powell and summer seems so far away! Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is right around the corner!
