The crappiest of years. A look back.

This has been a really rough year for our family.  After our trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, I got sick with a 'cold' in April.  I'm almost recovered today.  (December 10)



I don't want to bog down with the whole story.  A few details:

ONE sinus surgery
THREE broken ribs
EIGHT months of coughing
THREE trips to the ER
TWO trips to the Instacare
FOUR CT scans
ONE chest tumor biopsy
ONE bronchoscopy
TEN doctors
FIFTY feet of oxygen tubing at home
ONE PICC line (that took TWO tries)
TWO lung biopsies
TEN different antibiotics
ONE found medicine allergy
EIGHT nights spent in the hospital
THOUSANDS of tissues and cough drops
ONE Thymoma, staged at 2A - that at pathology had 'broken the capsule'
ONE oncologist
LOTS of rounds of steroids
ONE Sternotomy
TWO Chest Tubes
TWO boys who have been very patient
ONE husband who has done everything possible for this family
ONE mom who is ready to kiss 2012 goodbye.

Blog Catch Up

 It seems like there are many things I have been able to stay caught up on this past year.  Having a blog has been one of them.

We took the boys to California in March.  It was a glorious week of Gillespie Family Fun!  I haven't even gone through most of the photos, but thought I would drop a quick couple in here to at least have a visual reminder of the great time we had.  The boys were fantastic travelers, great on-the-go participants.  I am so in love with my little family and I am so grateful for that fun week!
