Handsome boys

This years school pictures, I can't believe how handsome the boys are getting. They have really done well this year and I am so proud of them. I am definitely blessed to be their mom. Zack's favorite new thing is to come up with crazy nicknames for everyone. He calls me Hopscotch (off of Night at the Museum) and he calls Aaron Kid Rock. Aaron has recovered well and is getting back into the swing of things with school. He continually amazes everyone with his intellect. Carli's pictures will be coming soon. She is at a different school so hers will be in a few weeks.

Friends

A few weeks ago My friend Nicky came to visit us in Moscow. (Ok, so we met in Lewiston. Close enough). It was really good to see her and Carli was VERY excited to see TJ. Nicky took Carli back to Idaho Falls with her to visit family for a week. It was hard to be away from her for that long, but good for Carli. We miss ALL of our friends and family and encourage you all to visit us!

Zack's Birthday

These are pretty old pictures, but I couldn't get over how cute Zack was. He got his first skate board on his 7th Birthday, and these pictures sum him up perfectly... dirty face, torn and stained pants, but happy because he's outside being a boy.

Back to School

The Kids were really excited to start school this year. Carli was so disappointed that Kindergarten is still another year away. I wanted to get a shot of Aaron, but he wouldn't hold still long enough. The boys are doing great in school, Aaron was placed in the Gifted and Talented Program and he loves it. He has done so much better this year, I think he just wasn't challenged enough. He and I are both Studying the Mideaval period this year, and we both have to complete a project from that time frame, so we have been given permission to work on it together. I am really excited for this. Zack will be doing wrestling again, and he is really looking forward to that. Carli will be starting Celtic Dance lessons soon too. Busy kids! Overall things are going well. We love our new house and I will post pictures of that soon. Hopefully before next year.

Fashion Show

This was my entry in this years' Sustainable Art Competition and Fashion Show. We didn't win but we did get an honorable mention. It was a lot of fun, but challenging to design something made entirely of recyled materials.

Year of Wonders

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I am not sure how I found time to read it but I really recommend it. It takes place in England during the Black Plague, it was very sad but very inspring as well.

Carli's Christmas Dress Say Cheese!


Here are two of our Christmas pictures from this year. We ended up going to Idaho Falls this year, and it was great to see my parents one last time before they left on their mission. After Christmas, the kids had a blast hanging out with their cousins while I went on to Utah to refinish some cabinets for my cousin. There are more pictures to come, I just have to find them. :)

More Christmas

Carli wasn't really ready for Christmas morning as early as her cousins were. She perked right up after she opened her first presant though.

Aaron's dream... he's gotten a lot of use out of this since Christmas. Everything from carpet and hair samples to rotting food has been examined by him.













Chelsie and I were having a very serious discussion about whether Jon Bon Jovi was still hot. Zack thought it was hilarious.








Soo.... what was it all about? This year Christmas was special for us. The prospect of spending it here in Moscow in our tiny apartment would have been alright. My kids and I cope just fine, but there would have been something missing. The spirit of Christmas has come to mean more than jusst the simple answers such as; to celebrate Christ, to share, or to give.. it means to be loved, to belong, and to be a part of something bigger and greater than us all.

The worst assignment I've ever had.

This semester I am taking a class on Insects and their impact on human health. I thought ok, a few gross pictures and a lot of reading and a few papers to write, right? Oh no, I couldn't be more wrong. Today we were given our semester long assignment. This is a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach, and he lives with us now. That's right, I have to care for him like a pet. And yes, I was one of the girls on the back row that actually screamed. I am not happy about this but determined to get over my disgust to get a good grade. All in the name of higher education I guess. I have no idea how this is supposed to make me a good interior designer but we shall see. The kids are excited, Carli named him "Ziggy" and wants him to sleep in her room. Probably not.
