LONG OVERDUE UPDATE

It's been almost 11 months since I have updated our blog. Some would say "give it up" or "I do such and such now to capture memories" but honestly I LOVE our blog. you may laugh and find it hard to believe but I think about my blog daily, I even stress and dream about it. I hate I'm so far behind. I hate that I haven't kept up with my kids and especially documenting my boys lives. So here is to a new start. The kids nap every day for 2 hrs… there is no reason that I shouldn't be able to catch up 11 months worth of stuff (oh the task seems overwhelming)

So it is now July, we recently moved into our new home! What a nightmare it has been. We started the buying process in February, closed in April and remodeled for 9 weeks (and we moved in to an unfinished home but it had been long enough) Some day I will post pictures, when it's all complete and unpacked. I had a hard time with the move… I don't do well with change. And despite all my complaining about our small apartment (800 sq ft roughly) it was hard to leave. We had so many memories there over the past 3 yrs but I know in the end this will be best for our family. We have upgraded to 1750 sq feet upstairs (we rent out the downstairs which is 1200 sq ft, 3 bd, 1 bath) Upstairs we have 4 bedrooms and 2 baths, tons of living space, open concept kitchen/living room/dining room.  We have a huge master bedroom with walk in closet and our own bathroom. It truly is a blessing to have this home and the more I unpack and organize the more I fall in love. Jeff put so much time and lots of hard work and long hours into making this "our home". I'm so proud of all he has done for our family. Oh, and did I mention it has a yard!!!!

Jeff is just finishing up another phase of training and will actually start working as a controller this month (only 1.5 yrs after being hired) He loves his job, has made good friends (one of which moved into our downstairs with his family) and we look forward to his new swing schedule and of course eventually a pay raise :)

I'm still working 1 day a week but with friends living below us now I'm able to work more and have someone watch my kids while I sleep. I actually worked 3 days last week…. the last time I did that was before Harper was born. It felt good to work a little more. I have fallen into an awful rut of not liking my job and not seeming to care as much since I only work 1 day a week it's hard to get connected to your patients when you know you won't see them again.
I'm also learning how to juggle my time with cleaning a bigger home, keeping it organized and still have fun and run around with my kids. I absolutely love being a mom and hardly ever do I have bad days with my kids… long days yes but motherhood for me has been very rewarding (and safe to say pretty easy at this present time) and very pleasant (minus the first 5 months of the boys lives, i was miserable and drowning in my calling as a mom)

Harper is growing into the funnest little girl… still independent and now very opinionated (she tells me NO a lot!) She has tendencies to get aggressive and mean towards the boys(mostly when they want to play with her or with whatever she is playing with) but for the most part she loves her little brothers. she  loves waking them up every morning and getting them out of their cribs to play. she loves crawling around the house with them, and making them laugh. We attempted to potty train before our move and she was getting very good at going pee pee on the potty every time we put her on, but I didn't push the issue knowing we would be going through a change with moving… and now she absolutely will NOT go on the potty. She prefers her diapers and that's that!! So someday I will face the challenge (plus it's been such  nice summer its hard for me to devote 2-3 days indoors potty training when all I wanna do is go out and play)

The boys… oh my word where do I start! I LOVE having twins. I'm a baby lover so to have 2 at once I just can't get enough of them. 4 cheeks to kiss all day long, 4 stinky/sweaty toes to smell, 2 crawling all over me whenever i lay on the floor, 2 babies laughing and jumping to get out of the crib when they see me… the list could go on. I accidentally told Jeff the other day I would love another set of twins (obviously at the time forgetting what Hell I went through the first 5 months) but NOW… I'm in love! I will post individual updates about them later (and of course catch up all the past 10 months of their lives)
A few photos from the last couple weeks at our new house, enjoying the beautiful weather. This was the boys first time swimming… needless to say I wish we had a lake or outdoor pool we could go enjoy . Ok Alaska has tons of lakes but I want 70-80 degree water, sun tanning, boating kind of lake! So for now our little inflatable pools will have to do.
One of the things I love about my house is my deep stainless steel sinks… and the boys of course had to have their first sink bath in our new home.
Hoyt is teething in the next few pics and it is almost impossible to get him to smile, poor kiddo.
Happy 4th of July. We spent the day downtown, caught a little bit of the parade, walked around in the rain and then headed home for naps and relaxation. It may not have been much but it was fun to be together.
