Running - the LOVE and HATE of it all....
Ok so I hate running...I mean I really hate it. Because I hate it so much..I decided I had to give it another try. So many people tell me how much they love it, they feel so energized and alive...etc..etc.. Ok, so last year I started out once again running on my treadmill, adjusting the incline to make it more challenging, and really trying to just run. I still hated it. I even went outside and tried running around the neighborhood..no good. Just hated it. Boring, and just plain no fun. SO why do so many people love to run? Is it the endorphin high after a few miles logged? Is it the sense of accomplishment that you can run fast and go for distance? Could it maybe be that the more you run the more you love it, and I just haven't logged enough miles yet? True, my cap is 6. After 6 I am just ready for something else. I love to bike, stairclimb, zumba, rollerblade, and speed walk, and of course lift with insanity work out drills. Im still trying to learn to love it because i really think if i do it enough i will just love it. Yes? no? I dont know. IN the meantime there are days when I am angry about stupid things and I just feel like running until I drop or cry. Seriously, thats why I think its a love hate ....I love it those days, and those days used to be a lot more often, those days its all I want to do, just run far...and forever.
January 2012
The New year is here...and I cant believe its been so long since Ive updated this blog..I guess I got used to the daily buzz of facebook and since no one really reads this..or comments why bother? One reason I keep thinking is it helps me keep a record of our life here and there, little bits that maybe havent journaled in awhile. Whats up with us?? Thom, working hard - a lot from home which is nice, me..lots of primary and family stuff. Ryan, finished eagle project and working on last few merit badges so he can start driving, Brady just started going to dances and his world is suddenly bigger...with lots of females.. LOL. Savannah is having a wonderful 5th grade year and loving crzy Ms Tyson..who is great! and last but not least, my littlest is in Kindegarten and loving her whole experience..especially sharing time and Thursdays when I come in and help with Art. What else?? Goals for this year...lots of them. More family game time, more family at home time, me beat my 8 min mile x 3.5.. and consistantly improve it..so I can feel a little bit competitive when I decide to do a 5k race...starting to look at them and wonder if its worth it. Cant believe its 2012 and its snowing today and white and beautiful...and even Seattle got a bunch, fun to share our wacky weather with our family over there. Thankful everyday for our familys health and wellness. Looking at creating a couple of new blogs..and ideas.

Snow Already?
I cant believe it, it is already winter. It just seems like a few days ago we were having fun on the boat with the kids in the water, in the heat soaking up the rays! UGH! I hate the cold...but love the softness that covers the earth after a snowfall. Brady has been tracking our snow predictions and staying up just in case we get a bit of fluff, but none so far. Micah Peak has a nice dusting just beyond our home so we know its just a matter of time, not to mention the deer have all emerged once again devouring anything possible on trees and shrubs left. WE have been very busy with Primary, and sports and homeschool and keeping up with the holiday activities. Summer just got her first real hair cut, they cut off 4 inches! SHe wanted to look just like her cousins, Ally and Paige who both have shorter hair. Savy is loving school at Sunrise this year and just sang her little heart out in the Veterans Day assembly with her solar energy singing group. Brady is loving lounging while he does homework and tracking our weather patterns not to mention the current geographical conditions in the world, earthquakes, hurricanes, severe storms, snow falling, ocean temperatures...Ryan is loving High School and all the social activities that go with it. HE loves weight training even though its 0 period at 6:45am...sometimes we dont Love having to get up so early but proud that he is trying so hard. He also is enjoying seminary and global studies and spanish even though he doesnt understand all the usages of verbs just yet. Thom is continuing to excel in his job, although they cut his territory down a few states and that should ease up some of his longer trips, although he is back to doing business in Alaska again....colder than ever! I am loving primary and planning and handling over 115 kids and counting. Somedays it is a full time all out assault, and then others I can sit and have a real break....loving getting to know all the kids and just finished our primary program which was a great success! Looking forward to Christmas and the giving time of year when people slow down and care a little more..

the end of SUMMER!
Ok - so its here, the end of summer. We are all bummmed as the nights are getting colder and the days shorter, as well as the constant humm of the tv signaling the return of fall football....ugh! Sometimes ESPN is a curse in our home, my boys actually wait by the mailbox for the Sports Illustrated on Fridays..wierd. We are busy with back to school events and fall baseball which Thom is coaching, and gearing up for winter buying boots and sweaters....check out the highlanders from skeechers....the blue/plaid combo are soooo cute!www. skeechers.com Have to save up, saw the red ones at fred meyer on sale for about $50. so cute.....
on a cute jean quest. Want a pair of Miss Me's, have been eyeing a pair for over a year, just cant handle the price, just for a pair of jeans. Ok didnt mean for this to be a fashion post, but just found out that Buckle does hemming of jeans free with jean purchase....so that is a nice bonus, Cute store, a little rocker edgy but some fun stuff. Found a brand at Costco - Lilac wear, Thom swears they were maternity but they say modest jeans, cause they are low cut but have a built in panel so when you bend over your not showing off your G's or back....interesting. Have to research these.... any thoughts?
Ok - beyond that getting ready for Primary Program, and primary, cant wait for general conference, and so looking forward to getting a third counselor to help out....115 kids is a lot. So much FUN!
Looking into redecorating Summers room, pink and green - maybe a polka dot theme...big polka dots on the wall, or something like that....looking for ideas....

Summer is here!
Happy Father s Day!

The girls and I surprised Thom and had some pictures taken for Thom. It was fun to pose with the girls, they are so beautiful. I am loving their hair long, it is so fun to play with and put bows in. They are so fun! Summer is here and we are busy with Savy playing softball and Summer trying to run our home and her bigger brothers. They are so patient and loving most of the time. Ryan is chillin at home doing a few odd projects and Brady is in the middle of his baseball season which is going really well. He has enjoyed playing second base as well as pitching, way to go Brady! I am busy with my new calling and trying to coordinate both kids sports schedules, as well as dinner and household upkeep. Sometimes its late at night before I get to my stuff....but its all worth it. I love my calling as a mother of my children and love that I get to be home with them enjoying every moment, good or bad. We are looking forward to our trip to Utah for Ryan for EFY and visiting family and friends. Until then we are enduring the heat, enjoying the cool evenings and park close by, and curiously watching as a home is being built right next door! Yeah, new neighbors!

Winter Wonderland???
I love it when it snows, everything shuts down, things go a little slower, and I get to shovel the driveway! Seriosuly, I love to shovel, its a little like using the vaccumm...maybe a little bit of my OCD coming out but really I love the snow. Hope it won't be like last year, three weeks of snow was a little much even for me..Ill post some pic's from last year. I promised I would have Christmas cards out by now, and I have only just started them...so much to do so little time. Here's a recent re-cap of the kids! Ryan just finished his wrestling season, many pins for him, yeah!! Savy is getting ready for a tonsillectomy on Friday. Brady is doing well with school and scouts, he will have his star very soon..and turns twelve next week...Aaronic Priesthood! Summer is still a mad puzzle mania girl and just got ready for her first recital but oops! she wouldn't get up in front of all the people and dance, maybe next year. Ryan is getting ready for his first guitar recital and Savy will be doing hers at Christmas for the family since she will miss hers due to her tonsil removal..Thom is winding down his year and looking forward to some days off, and I am busy getting gifts done for neighbors, teachers, and all the people that help our family in all those little ways that count so much.... We are so blessed, and so Thankful for this special time of year... Jenn
