Trying to be better at posting!

I'm sorry for those of you who have tried to check out our blog within the last . . . well um year, only to find I am such a slacker and haven't done a thing with our little family blog in ages. You may actually be surprised to know that my husband is the inspiration for this post. He is in a family relations class and part of their assignment is to keep up their own blog so he has been doing that every week and I am very impressed! We had a super fun day today and started off with green eggs, pancakes, and even milk. Sidenote: Jeremy was not happy about having to drink green milk for the next week and kept saying I can't believe you dyed my milk green. I kept telling him it was the leprechauns but that idea didn't seem to sink in. Anyways, here's some pics of the most delicious breakfast. I think I shall start dying everything green! Other than that we had a pretty relaxed day. I ran 7 miles with Breann my sister (okay maybe that part wasn't so relaxing) but after I watched 2 movies while cutting out onesis out of paper for my friend Amy's baby show I am throwing. THey are going to be darling and even cuter than the ones I found on pinterest. I'll update a picture when they're done. Have a good one ya'll!

Wowzers. . . were a little behind on blogging

So I am officially blogger knowledge challenged. It takes me so long to figure out how to change the background and make it look good! And yes that's why it almost May and I'm just now changing my Christmas tree background. :) I don't have a lots of time because I am super tired but here's a quick update. Our sweet little Brynlee is the center of our world. She is getting so smiley and growing tall like her daddy. I am back at work full time which is bitter sweet. I am so greatful to have a job I love that pays for the things we need but it kills me to leave that adorable little boo every day. However, it has allowed her and my husband to have a strong bond because he watches her most of the day until I get home from work. In fact, last week they went on a hike in the mountains together. It was a warm day and Jeremy said that Brynn loved it and looked around at everything from her baby carrier. She just talked and laughed all afternoon. What a sweetie pie. We took her to Texas in February to bless her with family and let them meet her. She looked so beautiful in the dress I made for her- I was pretty proud of it, but then again she looks adorable in any outfit. Anyways, I will try to be better at posting but I'm afraid I'm gonna say something that doesn't make any sense. I've been doing that a lot due to lack of sleep. For example, my husband and I are in the market for a new table and this week while I was checking out online sites I asked him if he would rather have a round or a circle table. . . wow. Have a Happy Earth day everyone! Reduce, reuse, and recycle.

First family pictures

We took our first family pictures on Thursday. Brynlee of course picked this time to decide to be super fussy and cried the whole time. Amazingly enough, we still got some adorable shots. If we would have had more time and a happier baby, we would have lots more pictures but some is better than none. hopefully she will be a little happier at our 3 month photo shoot. I guess she shares her Dad's love for getting pictures taken. I don't know who was more winey.

Baby Brynlee

Well I decided that having a baby was worth making a new post finally. 8 days ago we became parents of a perfect, beautiful baby girl. Next to marrying my husband, it was the best day of my life. I started having contractions Monday, November 29th at dinner time. I kept hearing everyone say to eat some spicy foods and it will help start contractions. I don't think this is medically proven but my mom took me to mexican food, we ordered the spicy salsa and sure enough I felt my first good one during dinner. The contractions kept coming the next two days and were especially bad at night. I didn't sleep Monday or Tuesday night but kept track of the times I felt contractions. Meanwhile we were doing everything possible to get baby Brynlee here. I walked 4 miles on an incline at a fast pace on the the treadmill twice a day, tried to stay standing and enlist gravity's help, and my mom and I even went to the mall in Idaho Falls Tuesday night to Christmas shop, even though I had to stop frequently with a contraction. The next morning we went to the doctor at 9am for an appointment and while waiting I felt 6 contractions. I was determined I was going to have her that day and wasn't taking no for an anwser. Contractions hurt and I hadn't slept more than a few minutes at a time for 2 days! Luckily I was 5 cm and fully ready to have the baby. The doctor sent me to the hospital (of course we stopped for breakfast at McDonalds first :)) I was hooked up to the heart monitor and contraction measurer and pretty soon contractions were off the charts (literally) and coming fast and furious every minute. I made it a few more hours and soon was getting lightheaded from trying to breathe through the contractions so I gave into an epideral. I felt like I was in happy land after that and slept 2 hours until the nurse woke me up, said I was at a ten, and asked if I wanted to push! Heck yes! I pushed for about 15 minutes and soon we had a beautiful baby. The doctors and nurses were amazing and told me to push like I was going to the bathroom. Then Jeremy said "just push like you have to take a major dump!!!" The doctor and everyone in the room started to crack up. Soon we heard her cry Jeremy was able to cut the cord. Baby was just fine, though we were a little worried since she was a meconium baby and the respiratory specialist and NICU people had to be in the room as well. Brynlee Dawn weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and was 18.5 inches long. She was born at lucky 7:07 pm on her exact due date December first, 2010. She is extremly healthy, already gaining weight after one week, eats like a little piggy, and had no problems or jaundice. We are so incredibly lucky and feel so blessed to be parents of such a sweet angel. Here are some pics of her first week with us.

10 new and exciting things for 2010

Well I just finished watching my favorite show Grey's Anatomy and ate a whole bowl of homemade popcorn so I am ready to attempt my blog again. A lot has happened this year and so quickly! Here are the top ten events of our new year:
1. I am officially done with school. I got my degree in the mail and am officially a BYU-I alumnus. Very cool to say.
2. Jeremy has stopped working for Salt Lake Express shuttles and is just focusing on school now. It is great because he is still listed as a sub so people can call him if they can't make it but it's only once or twice a month and we still keep our free shuttle benefits. He is able to just study and actually sleep now and we get more time together which is really nice.
3. I am now the household provider. . . talk about pressure. I am working as a substitute for Madison and Idaho Falls School districts and love the teaching part but HATE the unpredicatability and the fact that some weeks I get calls every day and some weeks I get one a week which is not enough to pay for bills. I am hoping to find a job with set days and times so I don't have the anxiety of wondering. . .
4. We sold our adorable bunny Buddy. I bawled for about 10 minutes after we got rid of him. He was like our child basically. . . hopped everywhere we went and loved to snuggle. Unfortunately we just didnt have the pateince to keep cleaning him and the space and time to play with him (plus were not supposed to have him in our new apt). I comfort myself by knowing that he went to a family with three younger boys who were SO excited to get him. We got a little bigger fish tank to compensate and give our fishies more room to swim.
5. WE MOVED! Crazy huh. . . we heard our apartments were going up for sale and we had been in there for awhile and were ready for a change. We found these townhouses for rent that are cheaper than the last place, closer to campus, and two stories with more storage room. It is wonderful. We are still putting hte final touches but its just about there.
6. I found out one of my best friends in the entire world is pregnant! Yay Maddie! She is due in September and Kelsey and I are throwing her a baby shower.
7. MY sister in law Karissa gave birth to the most adorable little girl ever. Angela Rose Clemens. I got to go down and spend a few days with the in laws and my sweet new niece. Its official . . . baby mania is in! There are 19 girls in my ward pregnant all due within 2 months. Thats a lot of dinners.
8. The snow is finally starting to melt in RExburg. A part of me is sad because I didn't get to do a few things I wanted to like make a snowman, cross country ski, and go snowshoing. Who knows. . . Rexburg is knows for crazy random snowfalls so maybe we will get another chance.
9. Calling changes. . . becasue we moved I know my time as Primary President is quickly coming to an end. I have loved it so so much and will be sad to leave but I'm ready for a change. Jeremy also recieved a calling only 2 months ago as second counselor in sunday school presidency which will be short lived since we moved. I am excited to see what our new ward will be like but will miss our 92nd ward so much. It is definately the funnest ward I have ever been in and has the most amazing people and bishop.
10. hmmmm. . . guess I ran out of things. God bless you all and hope this update helps. I promise I will try to be better at blogging so you don't have to read novels every time.

Blog frustration

How come everyone else's blogs are so cute and I can't even figure out how to change the font or size! grrrrrr. . . I am so impatient with blogging right now. Why can't it just read my mind and do what I want? Maybe I would be better about blogging if I didn't get so angry everytime I tried to do it haha I'm going to watch Grey's Anatomy. Much more fun.

Celebrity

So this week I was on the front cover of the Idaho Falls newspaper. They did an article on substitute teaching and the new training program and they asked if I would be okay with being interviewed. I agreed thinking there would be several other substitutes as well but as it turns out I was the only one and they took a ton of pictures of me with a big one 4 by 6 on the cover! It was crazy! I have been getting lots of sub jobs this month and so far its going great. I substitute taught for middle school (7th grade Language Arts) today and it went great (except for one naughty class that made me want to pull my hair out). Its not the most glamorous job but I am getting lots of experience and for Rexburg area its actually pretty decent pay. Jeremy is doing well at his job but it is getting to be so exhausting trying to balance school and a late job so we may reconsider that. We love all of you and hope you are as happy and busy as we are!

First day of blogging

So I am finally setting up our very first blog! I hope that our family and friends enjoy it and that we keep it up for many years to come. I'm already having fun picking out pictures and getting ideas.
