Fall Fun!

Last Friday Silas and I took it easy and hung out at home all day. It was really nice. We played and I got a lot of chores done during nap time. First thing in the morning we made strawberry muffins. Silas was a big help!

Then we made Silas a lion mask. He wore it ALL day :-)

That afternoon we went to the lake for the weekend. Maddie ran in a cross country meet at the race track on Saturday morning, so we went to watch her run. We forgot Silas' sunglasses, so he wore mine!

On Monday it was Free Fair Day! We met up with Lilla and Peyton (and their mommies) and had a really fun morning riding rides, seeing aminals :-) and eating corn dogs! We even saw a kangaroo! We had just had a pretty lengthy discussion about kangaroo's the day before, so Silas was anxious to see if this kangaroo had a pocket for his baby. Silas and Peyton had their faces painted and Silas got a batman mask. He was bummed when it came off in the bathtub that night. I was ready to see his sweet face again!

Yesterday Silas had a punkin :-) patch at school and he came home very excited about his new punkin. He asked me if I knew Friendly the Ghost yesterday afternoon which gave me a big laugh! Last night Silas and Daddy (Daddy) carved his pumpkin from school. Silas requested a really mean one.

Ohhh, Johnny be Goooood...

So, Silas has 2 very funny songs that he loves. These songs are Suzy Q. and Johnny Be Good. Last weekend we were at the lake and we went to dinner at a place that has live music and the guy started belting out Johnny Be Good while Silas and Pibby were on the dance floor. It was a priceless moment! I wish I had a camera with me...

This morning we were playing in the backyard and Silas set up his stage and we used his gardening tools for instruments. I took a break from singing to take these pics. Funny kid!

Mamie's Party

This is Sarah's post from the other day on her blog www.adamsfamilylr.blogspot.com.  I wanted to share since it is from Mamie's party.  We worked so hard to make it a very special day.  Amanda got some wonderful pictures.  Here it is.

Mamie's Celebration Dinner

Posted: 28 Jul 2010 04:38 PM PDT

Taylor and I spent Mamie's year weekend over in Hot Springs. We wanted to spend time together just the two of us. We stayed at the Arlington thanks to our good friends Ashley and Dustin, and we ate yummy food thanks to Patrick, Meredith, Britney, Jason, Mom and Dad. We are so thankful for the love and thoughtfulness people have shown us throughout this whole past year.
That Sunday we had close friends and family come over for a birthday celebration in honor of Mamie. It was perfect. Britney and I made flower arrangements out of herbs from our garden and bright colored zinnia's. We wanted it to be simple but sweet. Jacquelyn and Jeremy from Palette Catering helped us out with the food and it was AMAZING. For the cake I wanted it to be simple with poppy flowers on it. D. from our church did exactly what I wanted and I can't wait for yall to see the pics. She put my Mamie tattoo on top and it was just perfect. We also ordered 40 balloons and after Taylor said a little speech for the both of us, I was way too emotional to talk, we all released the balloons again for Mamie. The whole night was full of laughter, love and memories. Just the way we wanted it to be. We wanted to celebrate Mamie and that is just what we did. Amanda was so sweet to snap some pictures for me. Thanks girlie and thanks to everyone that helped out with the party.
